I feel like Anderson got the shit end of the stick out of all the characters. I wish they would do like a mini series about him. You know like an origin story that leads up to him becoming the paladin of the vatican. Not big on Christianity but definitely interested in this Christian.

The 2001 anime, of all things, gave a hint of what his backstory could be.
From what info we could glean, he was a soldier in World War I that was attacked by a vampire, and he tried to commit suicide rather than be turned into a ghoul. Afterwards, he manned up, somehow joined Iscariot, and the rest is history.

I love that Alucard and Anderson both wondered about leprechauns and whether they'd spill out Lucky Charms upon being killed. It's really no wonder they developed a true respect for each other, at least in the "you are my most worthy opponent" way.
Even the way they say goodbye to each other with insults shows that they could have been great friends if they weren't so dead-set on murdering each other.

The actual anime is Hellsing Ultimate. but this particular version was done by the youtube channel TeamFourStar. They did a parody of the whole series. They also did Dragonball Z, which is amazing. I would totally recommend checking them out.
