Hi friend! I have gotten lots of comments for a slower version of this so if you're wanting to follow along on your procreate app, I made this video for you: th-cam.com/video/U-4oTJs9sdY/w-d-xo.html Lots of handlettering tips but in a little slower format. :) I hope that helps!
@Nirjamahantshetty I HOPE THAT YOU FOUND THE ANSWER. I KNOW ON MY IPAD PRO IT SHOWS THAT SIZE, SO I'M NOT SURE IF YOU CLICK ON IT, IT MAY SHOW YOU THE DIMENSIONS. EVEN BETTER DO A WEB SEARCH FOR YR SIZE IN THE DIMENSIONS YOU WANT THEM TO BE, CM OR MM.
I love the trick of using two fingers and sliding the layer to change the color of something we've already done. I've seen a lot of videos and no one had mentioned it. Thanks a lot
This is a must watch for Procreate beginners AND professionals. There are sooo many helpful hints here. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. love and peace!
I am getting a ipad and procreate for my birthday and this is so helpful i watched this today and i am going to watch it when i get my ipad(and Apple Pencil ) tysm this is so helpful
It feels good to be learning something new. This is super cathartic and I have always wanted to do calligraphy. Great video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for this tutorial! It was straight forward, and explained very clearly in actionable steps that I will use in future projects. I’m most grateful.
Evelyn Brady first download it in a cloud service, like Dropbox, Google Drive or the iCloud or some other service. Once it’s downloaded into your cloud service you go into Procreate and from there main page, click on the import button and select the file from your cloud service where you downloaded it to.
I try to watch a lot of tutorials on procreate because I’m new to it, and then every single one pretty much is using Apple Pencil Me: they are to expensive...*uses stylus* so hard now
i already knew how to do this, but here's a heads up for anyone wondering! this will only work for PRESSURE SENSITIVE styluses/pencils/pens. thank you for the tutorial though!! i think this is great for a beginner
Yes, for sure!! This is why I always recommend the Apple Pencil instead of any other stylus. Sometimes people ask me what a good alternative is, but I just don't think there is (at least not that I know of!). The pressure sensitivity is the game changer for brush lettering on the iPad. Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you so much for replying! I also don't know of any others. I have an "Abida" stylus (not very great) but I am buying an iPad Pro 12.9 inch 3rd Generation with an Apple Pencil. by the way, I love your videos and I appreciate all the effort you put into them!
You're so welcome! Also, make sure you check out this video for how to get smooth lines easily (in case you haven't discovered streamline!) th-cam.com/video/HRYDAacfjDY/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching!
Y’all I’m literally using a incompatible 2013 iPad with a dollar tree stylus....BUT I’m able to do quite a bit of things with procreate. It’s a great app.
And the best thing about it, is that it’s a one time buy! No monthly or yearly payments, just once and you’re good to go 😁 (You’ve probably already bought it by now, but just in case!)
EXTREMELY HELPFUL! I just downloaded the app and I watched this video as my first "how-to". Very, very helpful. Thank you so much for making this video!
This was helpful I’m glad they have it installed on there and how they fix the lines ... do you need to know how to do calligraphy or it will do it for you when you choose caligraphy
If you use uniform it does make thing go all funky, i only use the magnetic bit when i want to just move something but keep it inline to where it was originally
You are so welcome! I actually have a slower paced tutorial coming out this Friday for everyone asking for me to slow down. :) I hope you learned a lot! Thanks for watching!
PLEASE CAN YOU TELL ME WHICH VIDEO IS THE FIRST ONE FOR BEGINNERS, OR WAS THIS ONE IT, I'D JUST LIKE TO START AT THE VERY BEGINNING. THANK YOU, I REALLY ENJOYED YR TUTORIAL BTW.✌️😊
I kept trying to find out where you show the name of the setting or option that you select to set where it will straighten your lines automatically or it will make your circles even if you hold your pencil down? Could you tell the name of that one more time? I watched the video over but I couldn’t find where you mentioned the setting option so it will do this automatically. Thanks so much! Super helpful tutorial. Answered all my basic lettering questions.
Omg thank you so much for showing how you do shadowing! I always overthink it and assume there’s some kind of special way to do it, but it’s so simple!
Heyy I hv a wiwu pencil not an apple pencil when i use procreate the upper and lower stroked are the same.. is it because of the pencil or something else pls help!! (And which brush do u use ?? ) P.S- A small TH-camr here!!
I am not sure I understand the relationship between the color palette and the brush. I saw folks on social media lettering with multi-colored or even different textures but the speed is too high or they said they had used another app in addition to that, to CREATE the brush. So, the question, I guess is, the Kaleidoscope brush you created is already colored or....? and if so, why do you need to pick a color? again, what is the relationship between the color palette and the brush when you use a brush within a text (with clipping mask) or even to write on top(and I am not referring to using the eraser on top of a layer with a picture or another pattern or swatch of colors). Love your work, thank you!

The two finger swipe right to remove background was awesome. Great vid.
I love the trick of using two fingers and sliding the layer to change the color of something we've already done. I've seen a lot of videos and no one had mentioned it. Thanks a lot

hello, may i ask, do you use paperlike or matte screen protector on your iPad? thanks.
Wendy Brooks you just have to hold down before you lift your hand from drawing your line or shape :) hope this helped

Omg thank you so much for showing how you do shadowing! I always overthink it and assume there’s some kind of special way to do it, but it’s so simple!
Which Procreate program is this? Is this the regular one or the Pocket one?
What brush did you use to write the word shadow at 3:38?
Thank you so much this was super helpful
