Also the anti-aliasing in old id-tech engine games tanks the fps on all semi-modern computers. Remasters, such as Doom 3 bfg edition infact run much better than the originals on even low end hardware, simply because they use different types of anti-aliasing.
He should definitely just be playing it on his XP rig then. I feel like the whole point of these dedicated builds is that you don't have to download obscure patches and hack into the config files mainframe to get games to just work.
I watched both videos on my Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 gaming system, running a Ryzen 7 3700X, Radeon RX 5700XT. And one day, I'll run Win7 in a Linux VM for my future machines!
I have a GDDR5 2GB GT 710. Certainly the most stable and slightly over the top memory considering how weak it is over all, but regardless-is able to run Doom Eternal just fine, even if the highest fps will never reach beyond 30.
I noticed using an RX570 the performance is significantly worse 10-40% in windows 7 compared to using it in windows 10. I guess AMD never optimised the drivers for 7 as it was already old by 2017.
I ran my windows 7 machine of that era thru 3D mark vantage and got P15241. I was worried I would do much worse than you. Asus P5G41T motherboard, intel cpu core 2 quad Q9550 2.83, asus nvidia GeForce GTX 560, standard 500G hard drive, 8G DDR3. Better than 51%. I will take that.
I remember old Times. The Game it self is connectted with the Clock imagine a setting with 800Mhz FSB and a Board with 1333Mhz. or even higher Clock. Upgrading slow Ram to a faster one can cause this Problem. Maybe That`s the Problem.
Might be worth noting, but for a short amount of time I tested out Windows 7 with a 13th gen Intel CPU (shame I had to use a modded ISO with USB drivers set up, and use a USB Ethernet adapter to get networking working) on a spare SSD, and I had luck getting a 6900XT working with relatively decent performance (a shame that you can't use VRR though). I'd imagine much like how the 750Ti became a quick recommendation for an XP rig, that a 6500 or 6650XT are gonna become as such for Windows 7.
something isnt right here, perhaps it could be the operating system or the drivers. but im using an HD7570 1gb gddr5 and a core 2 duo e8600 and i get a stable 60 fps on ultra in quake 4. an 8 core system witha 750ti should plow those games out of the water. perhaps it could be because im using windows xp? i would love to see a video on windows xp some day.
I know you only use this machine for retro gaming but dude... Trust me on this, DONT USE A HYBRID DRIVE, they are terrible drives and will only last about 1 to 2 years at max with performance and load times getting worse as the card ages.
I don't want to say you did something wrong. But I do t know why you are getting such low frames. My C2D E8600 and GTX 950 runs the FEAR benchmark maxed out at over 200fps. The 8350 should be faster than a Core2Duo and a 750 Ti shouldn't be that much slower than a 950. You should be hitting way higher frame rates.
@@AtomicPurple also thats probably originally the fermi variant of the gt 730, or the bottom of the barrel as far at gt 730s go. not that the normal gt 730 is good, but the fermi one is even worse, to the point its probably worse than onboard graphics
way way overkill, with those specs you can run games today, like rdr2 or cyberpunk, he's not running crap above maybe 2014 and that system can do it easily
The muddy textures in Quake 4 are caused by using a gpu with over 1gb of vram. It can be fixed in config files, from what I've heard.

For the disk partition delete problem here's a fix; cmd.exe > diskpart > list disk >select the disk number that is labeled as the SSHD > clean

I know that it is not the same, but I'm still rocking windows 8.1 on my ryzen 7 5700x system
GTX750TI was a great buy back in it's launch year, it even overshadow the 950 in sale even.
Pretty nice pc build! It would be interesting to see how this would hold up for modern games

I forgot I was subscribed to this channel

bro got the tarkov gpu

i have a spare pc with a gpu and setting it to 75hz it doesn't feel smooth and a bit choppy

It's better to use them separately, I've used 2 different WD HDDs on my XP rig.
I’ve been using 1 TB SSHD from my old laptop as game drive. It’s been running fine for 8 years …
all these games are windows xp goodies for me...

I'm pretty sure I have it capped at 60FPS
@@AtomicPurple that would make sense, sorry I missed that if it was done intentionally.

dude i have the same gpu as the windows 7 gaming pc
get an i7 8700k and a gtx 1070ti, those specs are the best for windows 7 right before support ended
way way overkill, with those specs you can run games today, like rdr2 or cyberpunk, he's not running crap above maybe 2014 and that system can do it easily
You can also use a 6000 series Radeon card too, as that is where AMD cut off support for Windows 7.
Problem is you're testing XP era games which don't like running on 7.. on 7
i have a GTX970 doing nothing if ya looking for one
Ill take it lol
