I remember a game called Speed Thief which turned out to be blatant ripoff of this game lol xD Same cars and tracks, they added some cops and sound effects. That game wasn't really a racing game, it was police pursuit game. I had it on a Cover-CD from a polish gaming magazine in the early 2000's. September 2001 or something like this.

WHILE YEARS OF USING THE LEGENDARY BEST OPERATING SYSTEM IN HISTORY (Windows 7) I HAD NEVER ENCOUNTERED ANY SECURITY ISSUES (EVEN WHEN ACCIDENTALLY DOWNLOADED ACTUAL VIRUSES AND OPENING IT!, A SIMPLE RE-INSTALLING THE WINDOWS AND MY FILES WHERE 100% SAFE, TO THE POINT I STARTED FEELING THAT VIRUSES ARE CONSPIRACY SPEECH AND DOES NOT EXIST (Until I followed the crowd and Microsoft's propaganda and used Win10) But today Windows 10 is just a second boot on my PC for a very little apps that INTENTIONALLY stopped supporting Windows 7 while it was great a couple of years ago, and NO ACCOUNTS SIGNED IN IT, with my Main boot OS Windows 7 with Deep breath of safety and feeling Home And of Course I Won't EVER TRY that JOKE called Windows 11, If necessary to upgrade in the future.. Microsoft IS DONE FOR ME! I may try Mac or Linux or even ChromeBook beside my Legendary Windows 7 PC

I only stopped using Windows 7 this year, just over a month ago, putting off updates for ages since my PC was DDR3 and LGA2011 socket any new upgrades apart from the last GPU update were realistically going to require a whole rebuild. Really stable and the only real reason I upgraded is many more new games were incompatible like 40K DarkTide, and some older games also updated to no longer run on Win7. Although I'm fine with the aesthetics of Windows 11 I don't like how Windows 8 and beyond have loads of random sponsored content pushed on you in the default start menu, yes you can do some tweaking to get rid of it but I preferred how non-bloat and unintrusive Windows 7 was on fresh install.

Glad you talked about the music for Midnight Racing - to this day, I'd love to find (and download) the ripped-audio from the menu as well as the in-game music. Shame you didn't also mention the music in Hot Wired - nostalgia city.

Similar project. My problem is a driver gap. Newish Acer motherboard probably won't have any drivers for WindowsXP. While the graphics card should work in almost all versions of windows with catalyst.

Woah great video. Personally I love Windows 7 a lot , nostalgia bias is also involve. I always do hear Xp being best but I'm sure some of us love 7 more. I always make my windows 10 pc , look like 7. Windows 10 is only supported and I don't think I will go to 11. 10 is perfect only because they bricked 7.

just finished my i5-4690k 1660ti windows 7 build, took me a bit to get my drivers together but it works! never had a windows 7 desktop, only laptops and could never game on them

I'm sorry, but i am running the last platform that natively suported W7, which is sixth gen intel, socket 1151. The last gpus that supported W7 were released around 2019-2010, so you can make a pretty up to date Windows 7 pc that can run almost any game, all you need is a I7 6700, 32 gb of ddr4 2400mhz ram and something like a AMD RX5700XT. Also worth mentioning, my 7th gen. Lenovo L570 fully supports W7 as well, it's the OS i'm using on it.

All I ever buy is dell. I've had an HP that was really good but all my other HP's has had issues. This Dell I have now is the best Dell to date that I have had. All my others had to get sent in to get repairs this one hasn't had that issue yet.

I think I first heard of trainz at the age of 3 or 4 maybe from watching the videos of the game on TH-cam but my first game as a little boy was train driver journeys which is the same thing as trainz but for mobile devices even though at the time we had trainz driver for mobile devices as well

My Windows 7 rig currently is a Dell Precision 5810🤣 with a Xeon E5 1630v3 32GB DDR4 4x8GB (QChanl, but maybe in Dchanl with 4 available slots) with a GTX 660 until I get the modular 8+6 power cable part ordered. Then I'm putting my shelved Titan Black to use😆 It's about equivalent to my main desktop x99 i7 6850k 32GB QChanl DDR4 (8x4GB) I know it's absolutely unnecessary I only got it because by brother's friend called me to collect it from an abandon rental unit and it supports all kinds of sata and legacy and UEFI boot options, like AHCI that's great cuz when ever I installed Windows 7 on this WD RaptorX drive (the drive with a factory window) I didn't realize that feature was off in that bios I originally installed it on.😬 now it's really hard to get motherboards with that bios setting. if it doesn't have it, its on by default and windows wont boot. I took out the drives it had in it and connected my good'ol reliable WD Raptor drive and it worked!🤣 Sure I really should reinstall it, but do you have any idea how long it takes and how big of a pain it is to re install all The Sims 2 and expansions😵😩 I have a 20 year old game save that has never looked sooo good with custom graphicsrule config tweak 2560x1080 ultrawide resolution.

Funny thing about the Dell fan issue on Linux, that is still a problem on Alienware laptops on Linux. Like the fan will work, but you cannot control the thermal or fan noise mode. You have to boot into Windows to change it. Safe to say I regret buying an Alienware laptop. Thing doesn't even have a MUX switch or a DisplayPort output wired to the GPU (instead of HDMI).

Might be worth noting, but for a short amount of time I tested out Windows 7 with a 13th gen Intel CPU (shame I had to use a modded ISO with USB drivers set up, and use a USB Ethernet adapter to get networking working) on a spare SSD, and I had luck getting a 6900XT working with relatively decent performance (a shame that you can't use VRR though). I'd imagine much like how the 750Ti became a quick recommendation for an XP rig, that a 6500 or 6650XT are gonna become as such for Windows 7.
