Texas USA 🇺🇸 I’m a retired nurse. When I first went to work for a group of pediatricians the parents were wonderful. Well except for the parent that told their 5 year old son he couldn’t play with the machete anymore as the doc was sewing his toe back on. Anyway the parents were receptive to teaching. I changed speciaties for several years. Then I went back to pediatrics & it was a way different experience. They were feeding their 3 to 6 months old french fries ftom McDonald’s 🍟. They would come in for the well child check up & would put their 0 to 18 month old babies on the exam table & walk off. They wanted to give their babies cow milk to soon instead of formula. Needless to say we did a lot of teaching. The thing is DrHifive is it is so wonderful for you to do these educational videos. They will help people from all around the world. GOD BLESS You. 😊

As a pediatrician I encourage our parents to never leave kids unattended on high surfaces or beds. A play mat or play pen on the ground is always so convenient. For providers there is a score that we use in the ER called PECARN score which helps us decide if a CT head is recommended for a given clinical scenario. Children less than 2 years are always considered high risk for intracranial injury.

Best advice I received on internet was to remove the cot and keep the bed on floor. Falling from bed would reduce drastically !

Great tips! Also, Our pediatrician said if they cry that’s a great sign, he said you worry if they don’t cry and just pass out

1:12 baby be like…how dare you ignore me and my tribe…we rule. But on a serious note I am really glad she is safe 🙏🙏🙏. Also to new parents please don’t change diapers on tables, even changing tables if possible. We think, you need only 1 second to grab something, but that 1 second is enough to roll over. Please be careful

Leave your child on the floor. They will get freedom to move, and fall can be prevented

You are a wonderful pediatrician to kids . I always use to put several pillows around crib , sofa, bed etc so if they climbed / fall down don’t get hurt. 1 high pillows then low pillows so it’s like step so they are safe. Last few years I put some books near my head side of the bed so my iPad/ iPhone if falls down then can be safe. Babies , kids, iPhones, iPad, laptop safer.

Hello Doctor! Can you please tell me that a baby falls from the bed on to a tiled floor at 11 months age but shows no symptoms you mentioned above then is it possible that there could still be some damage or does this pose a risk of Autism later on?
