    I picked up the Cobra XS 4” pliers. I carry them in my front pocket with the head up and handles facing towards my hip. I’m not fond of things in my pockets. But I truly don’t notice them. It was one of those don’t need it, gotta have it moments. I torqued a 1” bolt (bench vise) to 60 ft•lbf and was able to break it free. Couldn’t do 65. Pliers Wrench would have been more appropriate but these were on sale. They have come in handy a few times (ex. tightening a turnbuckle on a screen door). Saved me a trip to the truck. That in conjunction with my Milwaukee Fastback 6-in-1 is terrific EDC. And an Olight of course.
    As far as the Kapro square is concerned…double check it against something like an engineers square for accuracy…mine was out about a full degree and a half.
    Take care

    Toyed with the idea of stilts by decided at 54yrs old I couldn’t afford the recovery time or cost of a fall. I really like the mini scaffold for painting and drywall finishing/repairs. I also have a “bakers rack” type scaffold, great when I need something bigger but use the mini 95% of the time for 8’-9’ or less. It’s also the easiest to transport set up.

    • @MORGANSMaintenance
      @MORGANSMaintenance  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree on the stilts.. it also has to be the right type of work site to be able to use them.
      I currently use small rolling scaffolds or step type platforms. I’m generally below 9’ most of the time too.

    I have the Field Piece probes. I've never used the Testo gear. I hear it's great but has limited range and that's why I bought field piece. The field piece range is unbelievable. I can walk across my office buildings and go outside and still get signal to my phone. Some of my line sets are over 100' so there are long distances with walls and floors in between and they don't drop signal.
    I didn't buy a manifold. I can use a tee fitting to charge and you don't want to pull a vacuum through a manifold because it takes forever.
    I have the flat trash can mat. I forget the name now but it works great. I can use it for demo but it stores flat in my van. A trash can just takes up a ton of space.

    - Engineer makes the pliers for Vamplier, Engineer pliers are absolutely top notch.
    - The Klein tape measures are great.
    - IIf you're looking for long reach pliers like needle nose, consider getting the double jointed (or compound jointed) ones. The plier end opens just as far as the handle end.
    - Get the Malco locking pliers while you can, they have stopped production and are closing that plant.
    - The GearWrench Bolt Biter 1/4" hex set is basically just doubles (you're pretty much getting 2 of each size), you can usually find the single set (without the box just in a bit holder) for significantly less.
    - As far as the T-Handle Wera, I much prefer the Snap-On T-Handle or even the Vessel Ball Handle (which gives you pretty much the same grip).

    I am a huge fan of the engineer screw pliers, they are in my pro pack I lug around daily. They got me out of enough jams to earn their spot.
    As far as thermal imagers, they were a game changer finding bad bearings or electrical connections in super noisy industrial environments and checking for hot spots in walls after hot work. Ours is an older FLIR and it's great. I have one that plugs into the phone, but couldn't tell you where it is. It was that good 😅

    I’m an HVAC tech and I’ve had both the Testo and Fieldpiece probes, and the Fieldpiece are far better in my opinion. The range is way better; with my Testo’s I would put my psychrometers in the duct work in the basement and I would go outside to hook up and I would loose connection. The Fieldpiece claim 1000’ range, and while
    I haven’t tested that, they have never dropped out on me, so if you’re just checking to see if a system is charged correctly or not, the Fieldpiece probes are excellent. You can charge a system with them if you have a hose and a charging T if that’s something you’re willing to do, but at that point you might just go with a regular manifold. If you get them I would recommend getting the 2 psychrometers with them so you can take temp readings too, as that’s a part of AC systems.
    Also, I think the Wiha Hammer is a listed as a pack of like 4 or 5 them and that’s why it’s listed for $200.

    • @MORGANSMaintenance
      @MORGANSMaintenance  ปีที่แล้ว

    Stilts are the way to go….. HUGE timesaver. I walked stilts for 25 years and we used Dura-Stilts name
    Brand. They cost more than the ones you have but last forever. If you use stilts the best tip I can give is to keep your floors as clean as possible. Although working Contruction sites it’s not going to be perfect. The two things that would get me tripped up were extension cords and wet sheet rock mud. Stay safe!!

    I have the Klein thermal camera, I saw another comment about the refresh rate (calibration) and it can get annoying. But at the price point and size, it fits my needs very well. I own a handyman business, and use it at least twice a week. I stick it in walls, behind appliances, around active leaks, and at $300 I'm not scared of using it the way I do. Not sure if you can get hold of Beta Tools where you are. They sell the the 850MQ which is a VDE rated 1/4" hex bit holder as an alternative to the Felo unit.
    I don't find the Wiha hammer anything special than other alternatives that are out there really. In the UK on the Wiha website, that is a $55 hammer, so not sure what Amazon are doing with their price!
    For thermal camera, I use a FLirOne that attaches to a phone, Andoid or IOS versions available. There is also a more cost effective unit from iSeek, that will utilise the battery from the phone, where as the Flir only operates from its internal battery which doesn't last too long in storage.

Can take a bit to ship and they aren’t on Amazon but I’ve put in probably close to 100,000 square feet with mine and I know of a few other contractors that have them as well, they are extremely high quality. They are one of the ones I’ve been watching use the Stabila. The Bosch are pretty good, I’ve cut crown moulding with it on longer pieces.

    Your watch list/basket looks about as full as mine. You've got a whole load of stuff there that's not on my radar right now but I'll be adding a few of them to mine. I have the driver with a flip phillips and slotted. I don’t have the extra blades. That handle was one of the first ones I bought where I started using bit drivers and other things with one handle. You can do a lot with just that handle and all the bits you normally put in your drill.

    most of those cheapo impact socket sets aren't too bad. I have one i keep in the car for working on random stuff and it's pretty good. I do reccomend keeping whatever size socket your vehicle uses for lug nuts with you though. Esp. if you have an impact... As for crimping data cables, the regular klein pliers for crimping network connections are fine. I usually keep a set and a punchdown tool with me (cheap monoprice ones i've had for over 10 years). I find i do keystones more than make cables up. As for thermal cameras, i recently bought the topdon one and it works pretty good. works with your phone so you can easily save pictures and send them. Plus it was a fair bit cheaper than the big name ones. Might want to check out the Stiletto hammers too, i know a bunch of people who swear by them, and they are nice.
    As for the hvac test gear, i know HVACR videos on youtube uses a lot of the fieldpiece stuff, and has a deal with a store on the stuff. Might be something to look at. I personally tend to stay out of refrigerant and hvac stuff personally, but to each their own.

      Thanks… I’m always leery buying a square I can’t check in person… and having it come in the mail.

    Reekon is not worth it, dont buy you will regret it. Vessel torsion ball set is awesome

      Is the Reekon not accurate? Or is the build quality not great? I wondered about both…
      Thanks on the Vessel 👍

    That Wiha hammer is actually a set of 4. So you get 4 of the same hammer for $220. Don't ask me why. It's a mystery.

    • @MORGANSMaintenance
      @MORGANSMaintenance  ปีที่แล้ว

      Someone said that which makes the price make more sense.
      Someone asked that question on the Amazon question and answers and people replied they only got one… but who knows, those people could have bought theirs before they changed it to a set of four.
      Thanks 👍
