Dbl end bag starts at 3:47. Anybody who thinks that boxing isn't a martial art is an idiot. Just watching a pro or good amateur work a double end bag or slip bag is poetry in motion, and when you put that training in the ring, cage, or on the street, it's deadly. Could watch this stuff for hours. Inspiring. Thanks for posting, honestron.
Awesome; perfect timing, lightning speed, pinpoint accuracy, great power and reflexes. I've never seen anyone master the floor to ceiling ball so completely, especially one so small! No wonder Sugar Shane Mosley is a legend.
Yes; timing, reflexes, speed, accuracy...it's really a great tool. You learn to get in quick and hit a target cleanly, directing your energy in exactly the right place and from just the right angle.
Everyone seems to have a hard-on for Mayweather's pat 'a' cake style mitt-work at the moment. Obviously Mayweather's system has its place and benefits but I prefer Mosleys pad drill. Speed,Power,Timing and Movement. Good Stuff !!
Shane is a living legend--with the gift of longevity, amazing speed, and youthfulness as well. Still, I believe that he's one of today's best fighters. Even with the loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr., and the blemish on his record due to PEDs, he comes back with a champion's resilience, warrior's heart, and fearless competitiveness.
you are all very astute in commenting on how fast his hands are- he is legendary after all, but everyone fails to mention the fact that Mosley has beautiful footwork as well, which is where his power originates from... just as you can tell a well-dressed man from his shoes, you can tell a great fighter from his footwork!
@dramakazi Who do you think would have won if Mosley fought Kostya Tszyu.Alot of people think Mosley avoided the Junior Welterweight division back in the early 90s because of Kostya being the top guy.
Don't forget he is using the pro 4 inch double end bag, not the standard 9 inch available to the public. This is Sugar Shane Mosley known to be one of the fastest punchers of all time in professional boxing. Yes the guy that beat Oscar De-la Hoya at age 35.
well boxer/puncher is the popular beleif on mosley..but for as long as ive been watching shane he rarely outboxes anyone...his speed and surprising power usually overwhelms his opponents particularly fighters of similar size..his troubles of fighting bigger guys vernon forrest, winky wright stem from his willingness to brawl!
his double end bag work is way above most....and the bag aint too tight either ..which is how a lot of pros blag it that they are timed up to the max...but they aint not until that bag is kinda loose ...real good
@fightinfarrell Mayweather's style practices reflexes which make his actions so instinctive it just shows in his fights...it's constant...evryone else's pad work seems like they're at a slow pace to Mayweather's....Mayweather never stops in his pad work and defence is just as much a part of it...it is very very effective
@alphonsob1 the pad work doesn't hit back it's easy to throw a jab because your not worried about being countered or hit back when they pull counter over it. it's like if I told you to hit a heavy bag you'd hit it without concern of being hit back. The Margarito fight he looked like he had one because he has no head movement . and the second Oscar fight he lost that one . a boxer with a good jab beats Mosley he only has 1 game plan "land a big shot" if he can't he mentally brakes down "gives up"
Mayweather vs Mosley - i can't but feeling that it would end up being a boring fight. Their both great fighter but their styles will clash. What do you think??
i dont think they make dble end bags smaller than that. Id like to see him hit the dble end without those 14oz training gloves, he would probably pop the damn thing.
Mosley is the most talented fighter Floyd has ever faced. Shane has to use the entire ring, stick and then move out of range. Floyd is not a stalker, he likes his opponents to come to him so Floyd can pinpoint his accurate single shots. Keep moving in and out and laterally, and Mayweather won't have time to set and zero in. Also, you must hit Floyd with fast combinations mid-ring, before he goes into the defensive shoulder roll. A bout between two brilliant boxers.
you can't take anyone 4 granted but i think Shane and Floyd will win their respective fights then IT'S ON people! Judah lost vs Cotto but if you guys looked carefully there where some clear openings in MC's guard, Mosley will expliot them. He's going to win.
Wish I could get a better look at his footwork while on the double end bag. I wonder why his trainer has him wearing his gloves while on it, much harder to hit when u don't have pillows on ur hands.
Mosley looks good in this video and he looks better this time around. This is going to be a great fight. Also, leave PBF out of the conversation over here, this is about Mosley, not him!
having said that though i do agree..prime for prime mosley beats floyd! floyd is more skilled but i think shane mosley's speed and power would have been the difference!
I think the main Reason Floyd Mayweather came back to Boxing is because he still has something to prove, epically to people like you who probably won't be satisfied if he beat Godzilla. Floyd Mayweather offered to fight Shane Mosley more than one time and Shane declined. Now that Shane's getting older he's looking for a payday. Floyd fought Marquez because he needed a tune up after a two year layoff. IF Miguel Cotto beats Pacqauio I'm sure he and Mayweather will meet that fight would be huge.
I wouldn't say it's solid. He made his name with De La Hoya, and since then he has fought two lightweights. He needs to fight welterweights to have a solid record, imo. You can't pick on guys smaller than you and claim to be the best.
One of the best of all time...... Speed, Power and technique
I have been boxing for nearly 20 years and that is hands down the most impressive double end bag work that I have ever seen.

boxing the most beautiful sport ever
That is about as skillful as you can get! Unbelievable work on the double-ended bag at the finish. That is so difficult to hit it like that!
He worked the shit out of that double end bag
Amazing work !!!
probably the best double end bag work ive ever seen..that was sick!
Yes; timing, reflexes, speed, accuracy...it's really a great tool. You learn to get in quick and hit a target cleanly, directing your energy in exactly the right place and from just the right angle.
Damn when he hits the mits they sound like gun shots!
Damn, that DEB was fucking beautiful.
I feel hopeless after watching this vid :P
Holy crap! I don't believe I've ever scene such impressive double-end bag work before! Incredible. They don't call him "Sugar" for nothing.
I watch this highlight once every so often. Crisp stuff
sugar shane very great boxer.
Everyone seems to have a hard-on for Mayweather's pat 'a' cake style mitt-work at the moment.
Obviously Mayweather's system has its place and benefits but I prefer Mosleys pad drill.
Speed,Power,Timing and Movement.
Good Stuff !!
His double end bag work is crazy. His hand-eye coridination and timing is insane!
Suga is The Truth!!!
Need this in hd
excellent balance, rhythm and speed,Mosley has tuned motor skills.
i dont want to see him retire no time soon, he should of kept getting trained by his dad
The best workout on a double end bag, point blank, period.
shane mosley ..... a great fighter, good speed, power, reflexes
very nice. His accuracy on the double end bag is impressive.
i trained with jack mosley like 2 years ago and i use too see shane everyonce in a while In BIg pomona...jack is the one doing mitt work
Mosley always been the man. Anyone new to boxing should watch his style n movement.
Shane is a living legend--with the gift of longevity, amazing speed, and youthfulness as well. Still, I believe that he's one of today's best fighters. Even with the loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr., and the blemish on his record due to PEDs, he comes back with a champion's resilience, warrior's heart, and fearless competitiveness.
mosley is the fuckin man he just seems like hes got so much power even when he doubles up on the left hook on the focus pads
who's better than Shane on the double end bag? If someone is better, please send me the link.
you are all very astute in commenting on how fast his hands are- he is legendary after all, but everyone fails to mention the fact that Mosley has beautiful footwork as well, which is where his power originates from...
just as you can tell a well-dressed man from his shoes, you can tell a great fighter from his footwork!
shane got nice speed and he puts his punches in combinations very well!
what a difference 4 years makes. This must have been before the Cotto fight.
see shane is being a great swimme here...but he's still getting wet.
hand eye coordination,quick combinations, accuracy
Shane punches are like a machine gun...damn what timing!!!
The double end bag
(i.e., the small bag anchore at the top and bottom) emulates the head movement of an opponent.
awesome..what speed and timing, excellent combos, i wish "sugar" can train me one day.
@9577frasier tHANKS Frasier !
Is there any clips of the training footage on the net ?
The series of jabs around 2:47 on are beautiful.
Прекрасная работа!👍👊
Oh man amazing left hand! What a perfection..
Nice but Roy Jones is the sickest on the double end bag
There is a reason why he has the name "Sugar".
And you stated that reason. My man.
One of the few boxers I would pay just to watch train...
I agree. Probs the most skillful boxer out there. Even more skilled than floyd.
@dramakazi Who do you think would have won if Mosley fought Kostya Tszyu.Alot of people think Mosley avoided the Junior Welterweight division back in the early 90s because of Kostya being the top guy.
Boxers make me so envious

Yeah so graceful, moves like a hummingbird dipping in and out..silky skills
coralles, hernandez, gatti, and now shane and then pacman afterwards---his resume is very solid---
Good training!
beast on the double ended bag
That was nuts!
you should see him on the double double end bags (the bags that look like 2 fused into 1)
SHANNNNNNNE MOSEEEEEEEELY is the shit he is an excellent fighter i wish i had hands like that right now
You'r right, he's great , and you should alsow see Roy Jones training vid if you like to see double end bag skill
well boxer/puncher is the popular beleif on mosley..but for as long as ive been watching shane he rarely outboxes anyone...his speed and surprising power usually overwhelms his opponents particularly fighters of similar size..his troubles of fighting bigger guys vernon forrest, winky wright stem from his willingness to brawl!
Mosley is the man
Fraiser ,..... where did you see felix on the double ended bag ? link ?
awesome precision man. Love Pacquiao but I want Sugar to take this one
his double end bag work is way above most....and the bag aint too tight either ..which is how a lot of pros blag it that they are timed up to the max...but they aint not until that bag is kinda loose ...real good

I also got a bit more for the double end bag fans ,... Joel Julio works the bag in two sections on my other video called " j julio " .
A true Champ.
Get him up out of there 😂☝🏼 great coaching.
ridiculous... shane is a beast.
do you think is he able to beat floyd? it's my dream !
Sugar and PAC! Lets go!
@fightinfarrell Mayweather's style practices reflexes which make his actions so instinctive it just shows in his fights...it's constant...evryone else's pad work seems like they're at a slow pace to Mayweather's....Mayweather never stops in his pad work and defence is just as much a part of it...it is very very effective

i have. just dont know the link to the video
THE BEST!
got damn that's a big ring
i dont think they make dble end bags smaller than that. Id like to see him hit the dble end without those 14oz training gloves, he would probably pop the damn thing.
double ended bag - deb
Mosley is the most talented fighter Floyd has ever faced. Shane has to use the entire ring, stick and then move out of range. Ive never seen floyd on the double end bag? I wonder why?
you can't take anyone 4 granted but i think Shane and Floyd will win their respective fights then IT'S ON people! Judah lost vs Cotto but if you guys looked carefully there where some clear openings in MC's guard, Mosley will expliot them. He's going to win.
what's deb? thanks seb from france
@honestron i havent found it as yet
Wish I could get a better look at his footwork while on the double end bag. I wonder why his trainer has him wearing his gloves while on it, much harder to hit when u don't have pillows on ur hands.
whats with the elevator music in the background?
Lol, I have no idea how he hits that double end bag, it's tiny!, looks impossible to hit but, Shane Mosley is a legend! lol.
Wow, that's the way to work a DEB, with head movement and footwork..too many guys let the bag work them not the other way around.
Mosley looks good in this video and he looks better this time around. This is going to be a great fight. Also, leave PBF out of the conversation over here, this is about Mosley, not him!
@honestron sorry for not responding earlier you spelled my name wrong but i had the training session when he faced pernell whitaker
having said that though i do agree..prime for prime mosley beats floyd! floyd is more skilled but i think shane mosley's speed and power would have been the difference!
HAND SPEED!!!!!!!!
@boxingfan6 agreed.
so the bag is too low?
Huaaa, here we go.
@9577frasier are you serious? his hands are sick
I think the main Reason Floyd Mayweather came back to Boxing is because he still has something to prove, epically to people like you who probably won't be satisfied if he beat Godzilla.

mosley is great, i hope i can see him fightin pacman, but not at 140...
at 145 or 147 would be awesome.
I wouldn't say it's solid. He made his name with De La Hoya, and since then he has fought two lightweights. He needs to fight welterweights to have a solid record, imo. You can't pick on guys smaller than you and claim to be the best.
both.
