Todo is doing zero damage to mahito. But he’s aiding yuji which is way more important. So anything todo did this episode to mahito resulted in 0% damage. Todo can’t hit the soul so he’s an assist but that’s all he is in this battle
If mahito cursed energy reaches 0 he also dies, i think something like that happened in his first fight agaisnt nanami Thats why after nanami&itadori fight agaisnt mahito, when mahito run away, nanami tells ino that evem someone like him could excorsise mahito in the status he was.

Then, he deduces that this is because Yuuji is acting as a vessel for Ryomen Sukuna-he is constantly housing in his body a soul other than his own-so he is strongly aware of the outline of his own soul. It is clear from the context of the information given in these episodes that a jujutsu sorcerer will be able to strike and damage the shape of Mahito's soul if and only if they are aware of the shape of their own soul. This is why Yuuji is able to deal damage to Mahito, whereas Nanami, Todo is unable to do.
Mahito's monologue solidified why he's so many people favorite JJK villain. Mahito does not think how many humans he killed the same way Yuji doesn't count how many cursed spirits he had killed. Mahito challenges Yuji's mentality of "having a proper death"
Todo doesn't need to do big damage to Mahito. That is what Yuji is for. Todo is playing the role of facilitator. He's confusing Mahito while bringing the one character with a defensive and offensive advantage on Mahito straight to him. Todo and Yuji aren't just a great pair because of their personalities, but because Yuji's chief disadvantage is completely negated by Boogie Woogie.
Todo have landed Black flashes before, but only when you hit someone with black flash do you reach 120% potential for a given time. Since Mahito and Yuji already landed a black flash, they where already on 120%
Nobara's backstory comes straight from the manga. Including her unconfirmed status. Nobara's technique can attack Mahito's soul. It would be a shame if Gage didn't bring her back.

Believe it or not, that 120% graphic at the end there isn't a manga panel. Or at least not directly. While it does look exactly like the manga, the animator actually completely redrew it. So there are full portrait versions of the 3 of them. It's pretty sick.
Todo's black flash wasn't necessarily useless even though it did no damage. It's been stated that after using black flash a sorceror is "in the zone". Thus everything becomes easier and using cursed energy is just like breathing. That's what Todo meant when he said he wasn't going to fall behind Yuji and Mahito.

I think it's very fitting that Mahito is the first Black Flash of S2 and first BF from a cursed spirit. He is both learning and fully embracing his nature. He is comfortable with who he is. He is a very young curse, so his potential and room to grow are nearly limitless. Considering that even after all this, Mahito still feels like his soul has another form of evolution that he's so close to reaching. He causes pain, fear, hatred, despair. He is a true curse. I've always loved that speech he gave Yuji during the beatdown. He's doing what he was born to do. Yuji being in the fight is why he can't just transfigure Yuji and Todo and instantly win the fight(due to Sukuna being inside Yuji and touching their souls together is too big of a risk). But it's also providing Mahito the room to grow and evolve. Yuji, Todo and Mahito have brought out 120% of their potential. And as Mahito said to Yuji in the end, this will be their final chance to curse each other.

The Mechamaru and Miwa scene was gut wrenching as well. The fact he protected everyone was his last parting gift because Shibuya is a mess and he knew what was coming. We may not be attached to their crew as much but he gave everything for those he loved even if it may not have been the best way to do it. RIP Mechamaru 😢

Wow wow wow! This episode was beyond amazing. It got me so damn hype! Yelling at my TV n shit! Exactly what I wanted to happen happened, the 🐐 AOI TODO has returned!!! What a hell of an entrance and he is just what Itadori needed in this dire time. His besto friendo, his brother has come in and stoked that fire in Yuji to get up and push through, for those like Nanami. The callbacks in this episode and Yuji saying he’ll suffer in Nanami’s place were so damn good. Of course they gotta add to that and hit us with Mechamaru confessing his love to Miwa along with finally leaving for good. I hope the Kyoto students get there already and help. Nobara better be alive too dammit. Todo’s Black Flash animation was INSANE. Shit is really getting crazy now, AGAIN. And you definitely know that’s true when the ending song and credits play as the episode is still going 🤘🏽 I must also add that Nobunaga Shimazaki, Mahito’s VA, was tremendous as usual. This is definitely one my favorite episodes and further cements why love Todo. I cannot wait to see more of this epic tag team match and my favorite duo better make it out of this alright!
A bit of clarification on Todos black flash, while it's true that he can't hit the soul directly in order to really damage Mahito, it DOES cost Mahito cursed energy to keep his soul together and reform it when his body gets damaged/taken apart for any reason. So while Todos attack didn't do "damage", it cost Mahito lots of cursed energy to keep his body together with his technique. As Nanami said in season 1, there's 2 ways to beat Mahito, attack his soul or just attack him so much that he runs out of cursed energy from reverting the damage and at that point Mahito would have a normal mortal body. But as a special grade cursed spirit, Mahito has massive amounts of cursed energy, so unless you're someone like Yuta, just beating Mahito down in a slugfest isn't really an option. Anyways, that means Todos black flash was not pointless, not only did it put Todo in "the zone", making him even more competent for the fight going forward, but it also cost Mahito lots of cursed energy.
Todo has done black flash before, that's the only reason he could explain it so well. Why would you think he hasn't done it when he says he has? They don't show ever feat each person has done in the past, no show can.
The reason you see so many conflicting statements about Nobara’s death: Similarly to this arc being (several episodes spanning only a few hour), the rest of the series also covers a very condensed amount of time with razor focus on the immediate circumstances of the characters. There is only oblique references of her death, but it still hasn’t been explicitly stated. The longer things go on the less likely it is that she will make a recovery.
It is very likely that Todo has hit black flash prior to this battle, since he’s pictured among those who hit black flash when he explained it in the first season

Wow wow wow! This episode was beyond amazing. It got me so damn hype! Yelling at my TV n shit! Exactly what I wanted to happen happened, the 🐐 AOI TODO has returned!!! What a hell of an entrance and he is just what Itadori needed in this dire time. His besto friendo, his brother has come in and stoked that fire in Yuji to get up and push through, for those like Nanami. The callbacks in this episode and Yuji saying he’ll suffer in Nanami’s place were so damn good. Of course they gotta add to that and hit us with Mechamaru confessing his love to Miwa along with finally leaving for good. I hope the Kyoto students get there already and help. Nobara better be alive too dammit. Todo’s Black Flash animation was INSANE. Shit is really getting crazy now, AGAIN. And you definitely know that’s true when the ending song and credits play as the episode is still going 🤘🏽 I must also add that Nobunaga Shimazaki, Mahito’s VA, was tremendous as usual. This is definitely one my favorite episodes and further cements why love Todo. I cannot wait to see more of this epic tag team match and my favorite duo better make it out of this alright!

A bit of clarification on Todos black flash, while it's true that he can't hit the soul directly in order to really damage Mahito, it DOES cost Mahito cursed energy to keep his soul together and reform it when his body gets damaged/taken apart for any reason.
So while Todos attack didn't do "damage", it cost Mahito lots of cursed energy to keep his body together with his technique.
As Nanami said in season 1, there's 2 ways to beat Mahito, attack his soul or just attack him so much that he runs out of cursed energy from reverting the damage and at that point Mahito would have a normal mortal body. But as a special grade cursed spirit, Mahito has massive amounts of cursed energy, so unless you're someone like Yuta, just beating Mahito down in a slugfest isn't really an option.
Anyways, that means Todos black flash was not pointless, not only did it put Todo in "the zone", making him even more competent for the fight going forward, but it also cost Mahito lots of cursed energy.

Todo has done black flash before, that's the only reason he could explain it so well. Why would you think he hasn't done it when he says he has? They don't show ever feat each person has done in the past, no show can.

Similarly to this arc being (several episodes spanning only a few hour), the rest of the series also covers a very condensed amount of time with razor focus on the immediate circumstances of the characters.
There is only oblique references of her death, but it still hasn’t been explicitly stated. The longer things go on the less likely it is that she will make a recovery.
