I was pleasantly surprised with this game... I was just expecting some time to kill, but left quite satisfied! It is not perfect, but I did had a lot of fun! Too bad it never had a sequel, but considering the prequels, It still a possibility.

The worst part, this was the only line (and every line like it during that segment) that's straight out of left field like that. Everything else was just corny, crude dialogue.
As I said, the story gets dropped once the writers ran out of ideas, I summed up what happens well in the story and how they squandered a good opportunity. The characters are interesting, sure. The Cinematics are sub-par even by 2012 standards. But hey, as long as you like it, that's all that matters.
I wish more companies had the balls to just make a Fantasy RPG where you explicitly not play as a friggin' human and go for an Orc and/or Goblin. Anyone who just goes for a human is a coward.
Hey, I remember this game. I've been a huge fan of spiders simply because of the fact it was AA studio. You planning to do the other spiders games like Steelrising and such as well?
I was actually looking at Steelrising to dip my toes into reviewing a soulsbourne-like game, but I don't think I'd do it justice since I haven't completed Bloodbourne, Elden Ring, or even Sekiro.
@@CarmelOP-official Luckily, I don't think Steel RIsing is 'too close' to a soulsborne game. It's very much a "We have a soulsborne at home" type deal that borrows more from metroidvania's. I look forward to see whatever you make next anyway
They'd have to rebuild the game from the ground up because I don't see this kind of formula, gameplay loop, or level design being okay by modern standards.
Good review, this game fucking sucks
I like how you don't overstretch jokes
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Thank you for the input.
The best thing about this game is that it spawned Styx who got his own games which are some of the best stealth games ever imo
Those two are some of my personal favorites. I wish Cyanide would quit with the cycling managers and just reboot the series.
It's decent game imo. Characters are cool but gameplay is rather clunky and last few hours are borderline unplayable.
There's so much rinse wash repeat. You either win the fight right away or drag through combat.

Shards of darkness does take place after this story, so at least a storywise sequel. The orcs are aparently in a position for diplomatic options now.
@@lightborn9071 I had no idea, thanks :D
Shards of Darkness takes place after Master of Shadows, and before Of Orcs and Men.

"How do we make our game edgier. I don't want to work on it too hard, however.
-I know, use that word that rhymes with grape."

Gotta keep our players on their toes with the emotional whiplash lol.@@CarmelOP-official
To be honest, the story, the characters and the cinematics are *really* good, but as you said, I rather recommend watching a playtrough instead.

Reading that in Carl's voice makes it ten times better.
Nice video! always wanted to try this game but never got fully convinced about it
Well now you know.

great review pal :)
Thank you!
Bought this game for like $2 years ago. Loved it in a "I dont know yet how bad it is" kind of way
Honestly Id love to see a remake/reboot of this game. Just to see what could be done.

You should try Greed fall, probably their best
I'll give it a shot when I have some free time. My wife had fun with it so that's a good sign.
I loved it when I played and it looked good for its time.
Pasta
Alfredo.
Gonna knock off a few points for the "looks like a ps2 game" cliche.
It's clearly a Nokia N-Gage game.
what is the song name at 10:00 ?
