sad thing is he was getting better every year since 09-10 with just about everything he did. Just a month or so before his death, I think at a soundgarden gig in Florida he did Jesus Christ Pose and sounded almost the same as in 92, hitting every freaking high note in it without issue. He did the best I had ever heard on Slaves and Bulldozers a the same concert.
@@xbriskx bro that was the groundbreaking sound that changed the the direction of music from then on... plus I bet he was getting tired of the same old shit all the time. This is peak chris harsh/screamy vocals. Sounds godlike.
No doubt ma brotha..... Greatest voice of all time.....and to me it's not even close.... It's like you got all the greata together.... and then there's Cornell on the total next level... G.O.A.T
Staring at the loss Looking for a cause And never really sure Nothing but a hole To live without a soul And nothing to be learned… Shadow on the sun.....
Rock Royalty! Chris, his voice, his writing, his presence cannot be matched! This song is yet another example of how deep he was and he allowed us to go with him sometimes, through his music.A beautiful gift, but he was not ours to keep! May he rest in the arms of the angels
Crazy to see some comments after all these years comparing Cornell with Hetfield. So much hate! Sadly Cornell is gone, such a tragic loss. A tremendous talent. Hetfield is still here after fought his demons. He always respected Chris and Soundgarden has a huge influence in Metallica sound in the 90's. Peace and love for we all.
James Hetfield has Nothing to do with Chris Cornell. I admire both cause i like both's music but I think Cornell is in a higher level, with Mercury, Plant, Morrison, Dio. Cheers!
@ john doe - No offense, but are you seriously comparing Hetfield's complete LACK of even a basic, half-assed-extremely-low-quality-level "singing voice" with this GOD'S!!!!? Cause far as singing goes, this dude is born god. Not sure if I misunderstood your comment...But if not, to quote Quint: "Jesus H Christ!". *I* sing ten times better than Hetfield. And that's *after* he's had his extensive vocal lessons (I've had not a one). Chris has a fricking amazing voice. I WISH I could sing as good.
Neither Wylde nor Hetfield sing anything this high... Or particularly, in this style. During early audioslave, Chris' drinking and smoking wrecked his voice. This is an incredibly hard song to sing
wow. great band, great song. but i have to say ive watched the videos of this song live and every one when he does the vocals for "shadow of the sun" it sounds scratchy and horrible... definitley sounds better in studio. and he is no hetfield or wylde.
Because for 4 years he damaged his vocals due to alcohol, cigarettes and repetition of shows then get his crazy voice back in 2007 but i still like it, it sounds wild. Best singer ever tho
Probably the best live performance of this I’ve heard. Chris still pretty much had his Soundgarden pipes...

nop, es la mejor mixada de todas, en otras presentaciones, ponen la voz muy baja

Are you serious? His voice was awful the entire of early Audioslave. Listen how scratchy and screamy he is. He blew out his voice this tour.

RIP Chris Cornell, you will be sorely missed. Cornell and Morello were a great combo and that guitar solo was SICK, just SICK!
In my opinion best voice ever !!! It touches and drives thru my soul!!

3:26 is my favorite part of this song, so much nice to sing the contrast of the smooth voice to hard... and the lyrics, damn!
Amazing Chris...Rest in peace.
People who wants to destroy their vocal cords should try to sing it...
his lyrics, so profound....he was telling us....
Drippin sweat still sings like no other
The voice of a god!
Look at that flawless roar of Chris Cornell. Just amazing....
Staring at the loss
Looking for a cause
And never really sure
Nothing but a hole
To live without a soul
And nothing to be learned…

One of the best songs of all time:)
Deep, my heart is heavy today. Thanks for all the music man, you'll be missed hard.
what a performance, such a fantastic song, my gods this man was made by the gods! Thank you for letting us love him
That scream...mm mmm
Awesome song, Audioslave's best imo.
Best . Simply the best
Some crazy shit going on here, people comparing Chris Cornell to Hetfield...
Yes..Chris is uncomparable
@@vanhellsing8614 i completely agree. No comparison whatsoever.
chris is better
Amazing.... wow that was fuck mental!! Fuck me sideways... R.I.P
I was here. It was so awesome. Jane's Addition followed them. Sooo good
Chris's best rendition of this great anthem IMO
RIP CHRIS😢. Gone way too soon.
i watch this video daily.
Hey don't forget to watch today
Me too
and yes, AUDIOSLAVE fu#@ing ROCKS!
I hope this was the Mountain View, CA show. I was there and that would be epic to know this song and many others were captured.
Witnessed this. Woodlands, TX in 2003
Óriási, imádom!Fantasztikus a gitáros alakitása is!
He's more than just the guitarist. He's Tom frickin Morello.
la voz.... "No one sings like you anymore". RIP Chris 😔

Indeed !
Plant and Morrison are not the same league with Mercury, Dio and Cornell, just to point out.
Two different animals....Hetfield an extension of the instruments and Cornell a vocal instrument of his own
Daniel Blaskowitz I’d add Layne Staley next to Cornell. Two all time greats
Super!!!
🤘🏼❤️❤️❤️

Honestly, I had never even seen anything compare Hetfield to Cornell before :)

Exactly...Chris himself admitted to the struggles but the Hetfield comparison is a bit much :)
dat guitar solo thjo 🔥🔥

How has it already been four years?
Staring at loss ..
Looking for the cause.
This song is referring to a Solar Eclipse, amongst other things...
