Your instructions are very clear and well thought out. I sew and also have taught sewing. I have several young ladies who want to learn to sew. This series will be great to get them started and then I can answer questions and help them through the firstvitem.
Thank you for pointing out the width setting, as I am too stupid to read the instrctions that are given by the machine manufacturers. I am now going to practice on a spare piece of fabric to teach myself a lesson long overdue😁
Today I found the thread cutter, that I didn't know existed, so thank you so much. (Its very exciting learning to use my machine properly and I am sure the machine is grateful)......
Thank you both ladies, for taking your time out to share your creativity to teach others how to sew. I am enjoying these videos, and you both have given great demonstrations. Thank you!
Oohh, I've never used a basting stitch before. Definitely going to use it now. 🤗 Thank you for explaining everything so clearly, great series, & take care you 2. ❤🙂🐶
I'm loving the class so far. Nice pace and clear instructions. Thank you very much. Are you able to use a microphone for more clear sound. It's slightly echoed.
The room we film in has an echo which we have tried to sort out. We will hopefully be changing our camera this year which will mean we can have an external mic, at the moment the mic is in the camera which is restrictive. We hope to keep improving as we go and making it the best it can be for everyone. 😊
Hello! I've been feeling like pulling my hair out because my machine won't sew thin really stretchy material. I've tried adjusting everything from tension to length and width. I will try to rethread again, but if that doesn't work, then what should I do? This is what happens without adjusting, and when I try adjusting... It's skipping stitches, bunching up the material, or not sewing anything and the thread pulls right out. I have also changed out the needle several times!

That’s my machine! I didn’t want lots of embroidery type stitches that I know I won’t use, so went for this workhorse. The instruction booklet could be better in my opinion, though. To be honest, I don’t use the foot pedal with mine. I have also highlighted the seam allowance markings on the plate to the right of the presser foot with different coloured permanent marker (not water soluble) for 3/8, 1/2, 5/8 inch etc
If your machine has the needle up/needle down button like this one does (the arrows up and down on the front), the button makes it easier than having to turn the wheel when you want to put your needle down for turning.
I’ve had them for quite a few years so unfortunately I can’t remember where I got them from! There are many similar ones on the internet though if you do a google search for ‘black handle small scissors’
Hi why is the stitch so loose on the underside of the fabric? I’m it sure what I’m doing wrong. One side is tight and when you flip the fabric over, the stitch is loose
As a general guide the thread on the top as you stitch will be your top thread and the one underneath is your bobbin, so it may be that your bobbin isn’t in correctly.
Is it stitching normally except in back stitch? Some machines prefer to start a little bit further in on the fabric, they don't like the edge of the fabric. Try starting on the fabric, reverse back to the edge then sew forwards. This may help.

Thank you so much for sharing.

I’ve had my machine for 7years and never knew it had an automatic needle threader! Thank you.

I wish these videos were available when I started sewing! Would’ve saved me a whole lot of frustration and learning the hard way!😉
Well done Nikki - I hope you inspire thousands of people to sew!
Thank you Loriann

It's a great functional, reliable machine for sure.

Great tip, we much prefer a needle down machine
Great video so easy to follow. Nikki could I ask where you got the little black scissors you use in the video? Thanks :)
I’ve had them for quite a few years so unfortunately I can’t remember where I got them from! There are many similar ones on the internet though if you do a google search for ‘black handle small scissors’
Many thanks :)

What is wrong when the bobbin thread is bunching on the underside of the fabric?
Sounds like your bobbin isn’t in correctly
😃
Thanks for watching
When I back stitch, it gets knotted and the machine stops

@@StitchSisters yes starts normally and perfectly even near the edge, only when back stitching does it start to knot
Thank you x
It may be that there is an issue with your machine.
