Jo Sarojed my 20 year old daughter also started sewing this month since we have so much more time at home with the quarantine. She has made ten masks for friends and family using fabric her grandmother mailed to her. (All of the 100% cotton was sold out at Walmart! Lol) BEST WISHES to you! Just wanted you to know another young person was learning a new skill. You’ll be so glad you know how to sew for the rest of your life! Great job!
I have a vintage dressmaker model number f a v 900 I want to know how to thread the bobbin that goes in the front under the foot anyone can tell me that
Just wanted to say a big thanks! 52 year old male... never sewed a day on my life... finally bit the bullet and started learning, with this video. Made my first napkin tonight and couldn't be prouder. There's going to be lots more of those to come! Thanks again for the great instructional video.
I'm a 14 year old girl and I really want to start sewing my own clothes and sewing things for my family. Tomorrow I'm going to try it out for the first time and I'm really excited! Hope everything will go great :'D Wish me luck and thank you~!
What I love about growing up in this digital age is the ability to learn anything whenever you want. Obviously I can buy a book which I enjoy a lot, but there’s nothing like being able to watch a video or find a course online whenever I want.
This is the best how-to video I've found. I had ZERO sewing machine experience before watching this. Thanks to this video, I was able to sew some curtains for our pop-up tent trailer just a few days before leaving on a 3500 mile road trip. Thanks so much for a concise and easy to follow video.
I just have to say that I am so enamored with her hair and her overall look. Very pretty. Plus I love how detailed she is with her descriptions. Best beginner video I've found so far. :-)
48 year old fella here, just did my first cushion cover after i dug out our old 1950s Brother machine. t-shirt next, i'm hooked. This is what lock down has done to me!

As many Americans, we find ourselves locked in at home with a lot of idle time. I had purchased a gently used sewing machine about 3 years ago, and my wife “suggested” that it was time to figure out how to use it. I started out by reading the manual, always a good place to start, but am now looking to fill the gaps between the particulars of my machine, and what to do. I love your instruction style, your calm manner, your camera positioning, and a simple project to allow a beginner like me build confidence. I do hope that you have a kitchen curtain video, as that is the project that my wife has charged me with tackling, and it’s actually a bit terrifying. Thanks for showing me how to sew a straight hem...hopefully I can replicate it in due course.
I want to thank you for taking the fear of learning to sew, for me at 72 years old to start and I will be watching your videos because your videos are easy to understand.
This is hands down the best video for beginners!!!! I have had a sewing machine for years and never had the time to sit down to learn how to use it. This video has me sewing and making a difference during this pandemic! THANK YOU!!!!!
I've watched quite a few beginner sewing guides and this one has really made the most sense, even though I have a different machine. Thank you for explaining why/how the little things are supposed to work not just "do this, do that".
Good on you :-) I saw this Video and it really helped to just learn the basics of the sewing machine as well. I saw this other video and I got really mixed up at this one bit because she just said: "Turn This Thingamabob" And I was super mixed up by this, but I agree with you. :-)
Thank you for this comprehensive introduction. My great-grandmother was a seamstress for Judy Garland (Dorthy in The Wizard of OZ) but she passed away in 2008, what I wouldn't give to hear her sewing tips. 🥺😭 Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Even though I’ve been sewing for 64 years I would recommend your videos to anyone who is interested in the art of sewing I learned by watching my mom when I was 6 and have been sewing ever since you make it very easy for the beginners who are interested in sewing I came across this video by accident but even thought I’ve been doing it for years it was very refreshing love your look your style is beautiful and you have your shot together and I love it keep doing what you’re doing and happy sewing
I'm 60 years old and you taught me how to sew you have a gift for teaching, after making at least 100 face mask by hand I decided to buy a sewing machine my only problem was I had never used one after reading the user guide and watching the videos associated with the machine I was really frustrated and questioned me trying to learn something new at my age that was until I found your videos now I can sew a face mask in 10 minutes from start to finish. Thank you for helping with my new hobby I can't wait to learn more.
My mom taught me how to sew when I was little. I learned on a very old school machine she purchased in the 60’s 😳. Time for me to get back to the basics 😃
This was one of the best video ever. I finally learned what I was doing wrong with my bobbin. She is so precise in her teaching. I was wishing the video would never end. Thank you
Thank you a million times!!! I am considering buying my first ever sewing machine. I'm a Granny ''New Bee''...no experience with a machine at all. I felt intimidated so, I just hand sewed everything. Now with this crazy Pandemic I find my hands don't hold onto a needle as well as they used to. Although, I have been getting by and have made quite a few masks, I feel all would be quicker (along with better stitching) if I switched to a machine. Thank you for the info about finding a mentor...never thought of that. I like the way you explained and demonstrated your instructions, your voice was very calming and inspiring. New subscriber!! Update: Well it is June 11th...today my sewing machine arrived. I am looking forward to learning how to use it all because, of this video that has been such an inspiration.
Hi, Mandy. I’m a granny too, and aside from poor sewing my freshman year of high school, I did no sewing except a few lessons I took last year. I have 2 experienced seamstresses willing to help me learn. I have a pattern, fabric and thread to make a pillow. I wish us many hours of happy sewing!
My mother passed away three years ago in May and she left me her sewing machine. I knew a few tricks from watching her but this has helped so much in a time where an indoor weekend hobby is needed. Thank you for being detailed about the machine and the sewing process in general ❤️. Btw love your pinup model style 😍 it gives this important trade a lovely vintage flare.
ohmygawwd i love you!! YOU ARE TEACHING ME FABULOUS IDEAS! i love that idea of making a good seam and focusing on an area of your presser foot to keep your sewing straight! GREAT IDEA!!!!!
Here I am, 13, homeschooled and bored all of the time ! I thought that I would try to learn as many things as possible before I go into high school!I decided that I would use the old sewing machine that my sister had and learn how to do that ! If I have time to waste I will saw !
I'm 13 and I use cosplay as a way to deal with my mental health so I need to learn something quicker than hand-stitching and I'm happy to see someone else doing it too :)
In high school I opted to take shop class instead of home ec because I thought I would always have a chance to learn to cook and sew, but when would I have the opportunity to spot weld something? Well, fast forward 30 years and I still have not learned to sew. I found your video, got out the sewing machine that I bought but never had used, and got started. This video is so easy to follow - thanks so much for making this fun! I can't wait to move on to the next video!
Who new a video from 4 years ago would have a quarantined desperate mask maker excited to sew! Beginner here 🙋🏻♀️ the very first video that ACTUALLY explains things we can understand all around! Thank you Gretchen!
I'm 55 and I've never had anyone show me how to sew. My husband is buying me my first sewing machine and I'm sooo excited!! Thank you for this great tutorial. It was easy to understand and I can't wait to start sewing!
I'm a 48 year old with my mother-in-law's 60's Bernina machine. I have been wanting to try it out for years now and googled sewing for beginners. Your video is spot on - making me comfortable enough to attempt my first sew. Your personal style is also fabulous and your presentation skills impeccable. Thank you so much!!!!!
I've sent this video to so many people since it taught me how to get started with my machine a few months ago and I've been fanatically sewing ever since! Thank you!!
kaitlyn chan I love it. That whole era. I hope Gretchen teaches us how to see those dresses and zuit suit's! I hope I spelled that right. I love her style of teaching!!
Words do not describe how excited I am to start sewing once my machine comes in the mail. This video gave great information and was presented very well. Thank you very much.
62 yr old Married Man who has ALWAYS had to hand stitch everything I've ever mended and taught by my Mom (she raised 7 of us on her own!) I recently acquired an older desk sewing machine (Janome Harmony 8080) that did not come with directions or power cord (given to me and didn't know what I was getting when received!). I have since located an aftermarket power cord and downloaded the manual for the machine! I will be coming back to your video to hopefully get me through the beginning stages to start getting my various projects completed!! Thank you in advance!!
I'm genuinely impressed with just how helpful this video is. Found almost the same machine that you are using by Kenmore at a thrift store for $20, didn't know how to use it. This helped me a lot and now I'm confident to tailor my clothes with my machine. Thank you so much!!! Makes buying clothes a lot easier when you know you have backup!
Did anyone noticed her matching floral print high heels 👠... I jst love ur style Gretchen...and ths is the best beginners guide..i really dnt even know the abcd of sewing machines bt after watching ths nw i hve understood a little step by step😘😘😘😘
I’m a mom and clothes are so expensive especially for my husband so I wanted to learn so we can wear what we want without spending ridiculous amounts of money
I found this vid years ago and always go searching for it every 5 or so years when I bring out my machine and need a refresher. It has a ton of info, but never too much where I want to skip ahead. It's perfect.
I just bought my sewing machine today, I have trouble setting it up, after I watched you video, my set up went so smooth now, thank you so much, love to watch your videos, you are such a good teacher, every steps are so clear ❤️
Subscribed!! You are awesome!! I just saved myself $45 from going to Joannes' Fabrics and taking that sewing class! Thank you so much! My ten year old even enjoyed watching you and is going to also subscribe from her channel.
I’m a ford mechanic and wanted to sew my own patches on and been wanting to learn to use a sewing machine, looks fun, thank you for the beginners tutorial I learned a lot from you!
Great video! Retired welder learning to sew...to say I'm out of my comfort zone is an understatement. But, the other day I managed to thread my machine and wind a bobbin, and, today I learned how to pivot when running a seam. Never know, if I live long enough, I just may get good at this! Thanks again.
I’m excited to start learning how to use the sewing machine. 58-year-old male, never Sewed anything before but I’m willing to learn and excited to get started. New subscriber.
THIS HELPED ALOT ! I always see my friends sewing so when I started watching this video, i just went along the steps that the advisor told me and now i have a passion for sewing !!
Ugh! I loved this video. I've been getting into sewing and have actually sewed a baby quilt by hand for my newborn cousin. But my mom gave me an old sewing machine she never uses anymore and I've been so terrified of learning how to use it. Now I feel 10x more confident that I can figure it out!
Thank you. I don't normally comment on TH-cam videos, but it's been 40 years since I used my Sears Kenmore. I just purchased an Elna Explore 160 to make Covid-19 masks for my sister-in-law's children's store. In two hours, I recalled all the happy hours I spent sewing my wardrobe as a teen and young married wife. THANKS for the clarity of your instructions. I'm good to go.
I’ve saved this video for reference since I haven’t touched my sewing machine in about 25+ years! Our 20 year old daughter has learned to sew during quarantine and has made ten masks for friends and family. I’m so proud that she has taken the time during quarantine to learn a skill that will be useful for the rest of her life! This video was VERY well done and I love the napkin project as a way to become familiar with the machine! Now to find 100% cotton during quarantine! Lol Thankfully my seamstress mother has a stash and can mail some to us!
Thank you for this awesome how-to vid! I tried and failed at setting up my machine a few years ago. With your incredible detailed instructions, I am going to try again!
I’d like to see the traditional singer sewing machine... My grandma used to have one and she is such an expert at sewing!!! Watching this makes me miss her a whole lot. 🤎
Thanks Gretchen! Like a few others here we are in quarantine and trying to make face masks. I did a little research and fumbled through some for my immediate family here, but was really struggling after reading the manual on an older Singer given to us after losing everything in a fire a while back. Lot's of birds nests and such. You saved my day. Today was much neater and am sending a batch of masks to some family in Houston. 61 years old. Never too late to learn something useful. Love the presentation and colorful space there!
Enexaya, I'm sewing masks to help protect (at least a little) against COVID19. Not what I thought I'd be making, but I'm learning quickly. Thank you for asking. Also, I can make a scrunchie in five minutes or less now. 😁
Just wanted to say a massive thank you! I have brought a sewing machine for my 11yr old daughter but neither of us can sew. Thanks to you we are learning together!
I have to say a BIG "thank you"! I had NO idea what I was doing, never used a sewing machine in my life and was incredibly intimidated trying to figure out how to use this machine. You made this super easy to understand and I feel great about making masks for my family now. I'm VERY grateful for this content. Please make more videos! :)
I absolutely agree about the "take-up Lever"...I've had experiences where there was a huge pilling up of the thread and it looked horrible, each time I had to spent time to cut away the excess. Until I figured that it wasn't threaded properly so there wasn't that tension. Everything changed after that. So that's a great point. Awesome tutorial to show the basics. But one has to use a machine continuously to get a feel for it and comfort grows with experience. Thanks for Sharing. :)
I bought a new sewing machine 6 years ago, and it's never been taken out of the box. I had no idea how to sew. I read the instruction manual, but still couldn't figure out how to start. This video was SO helpful! Thank you!
My mom has a couple of different sewing machines so I took one and randomly decided I would try to use it. Now I’m just using some extra material to learn to see a little cat bed this rlly helped thx!
Thank you so much. I just started sewing and you’re a life saver. I was trying to figure it out on my own lol. I purchased a brother sewing machine a year ago with plans to start lessons before I realized 1 year passed and when I decided I was going to start scheduling my time around grandkids the coronavirus situation started and no classes available. Looking forward to more classes. Thank you again! Great video
I’m a 12 year old girl and i’m trying to start a business and instead of having someone sew the clothes I designed, I want to sew it myself. I really hope my plan works out and i’m so nervous to start this business.
I hope everything is gone well for you!! It’s always a bit scary to start a business, especially so young and something new, but I am so sure that if you keep at it for a long time that you will become very successful ❤️❤️💙💙
I like this beginning training video on using the sewing machine and the reason I am watching is because I am going to buy a sewing machine and need to learn how to use them. I thank you so much for sharing this information with us all and I hope you and your family are practicing safe practices during this lockdown and God is continuing to Bless you all.
My mother purchased a sewing machine for my 24th birthday. And you taught me how to thread, understand, and use my machine. Now I create as much as I can and feel so inspired. Im just coming back a year later ,grateful to you and you're videos . Thank you so much for educating me in a craft that is really a life long pursuit of creativity .
Thank you for the fabulous introduction with excellent command of the language and use of analogies to everyday tasks (driving a car, flossing teeth, etc.). You have inspired confidence for me to take the new machine out of the box!
I love your style! I have always been interested in sewing. I am actually a very neat hand sewer. I used to repair my father's work shirts/trousers, by hand, when I was in my teens. I used a sewing machine at school & made a knitting bag & a waistcoat. It was black / red / reversible. I guess, life got in the way & I didn't commit myself to learning more. I love the idea of altering clothes (ie. adding frills, pleats etc). I do change most buttons in clothes, to more expensive ones. My aunt used to do that (she's well able to buy designer clothes but she loved to change buttons too!). I also would add 2 or 3 gold buttons on each side seam, of my pedal pushers. Gold buttons elevate the look of a blazer too. I love buttons. On a basic, cotton, v neck top, I'd add a pearl button or add 2 on either side of a bateau neck top. Anyway, I get frustrated & discouraged, when I see a very talented person, like you, transform clothes. One example, was a huge men's shirt this lady bought second hand for about 3 euro! She was a tiny size 8 I'd say so that's how, she made a dress out of it!! She made matching hair bands and made a dress for her 8 year old daughter, using a second hand, shirt too. I love the idea of buying cheap clothes plus altering new stuff that, I have already. The best I managed was, ask my tailor to remove the sleeves of a black dress and shorten the hem. It was a good quality Mark's and Spencer 's LBD. I had a worn it, to death so I wanted to alter it. Another thing I saw was this amazing skirt, jade from old ties!!! I think, the seamstress used 36 ties to make it.. The resulting skirt was stunning. Again, charity shops come in handy here plus you could always , ask family to give you their ties they don't want anymore. You'd be well able to do that! My problem is that, I'm impatient! I want to be an expert after a week!! My friend is going to give me lessons when the virus threat is gone. I have loads of new and worn clothes, in size 18 but I'm a size 12 now! I usually just give my older and larger or smaller stuff, to the charity shop. I am sick of giving my friends and family plus charity, new clothes! My weight fluctuates frequently. I never even get to wear out my clothes. I have no 'old clothes' for things, like DIY etc. Have you any tips, that will encourage me to follow my passion? I used to knit but my aunt had to do the harder parts like collars etc. I also want to crochet for years! I've ordered a crochet kit to make a peach coloured, infinity scarf. I've akwars wanted to crochet my clothes, shoes etc and I want to make a patchwork quit too. My knitting bag was made using square material pieces. Anyway, can you advise me on what sewing machine I need to buy, to get me going please? I need it because I will just be tempted to buy a fancy one but if I lose interest, then I've washed a few hundred euro on an expensive machine. I've no problem spending mobey for good quality but I am sick of wasting money, on impulse bits! One very expensive example were 21 driving lessons and a car, that I 'drove' once at 30 miles per hour, in a 60 mph zone and only one way!! Because I was too scared to 'drive' home. My 2 brothers teased me into learning how to drive. I was 30 and I am too nervous to drive and I've zero interest! You get the picture. I saw a sewing video on line but I'm not sure, if I saved it. I think the lady was from the Amish community or she was a Mennonite, maybe those words could help me find her on you tube. She made this very basic dress pattern, on her kitchen table, using some old newspapers. Of course, it was easy for her and although, she spoke her way through it as, she was making it, I don't think a beginner would understand itv, without more detail and printed, instructions on how 'exactly' a person could replicate it. In short, it was a maxi dress with t shirt sleaves and a round neckline. She said, it was a one size fits all dress, because it was a loose, comfy fit. Realistically though, it wasn't. It would have fit roughly 3 sizes from a small/large UK medium to a small large. Anyway, she showed us how she made then. It had an elasticated waist, using thin elastic and she made ones with and without eksst on each sleeves. I'd love to know how to make that dress.. She modelled ones she had already made and they were fabulous.. One had bows on each sleeve, one was made with 3 different fabrics, another had 2. The cool thing was she could use up clothes like a t shirt she didn't wear anymore or left over fabric and use what I think is really cool, she just took apart old clothes used that materials.Hearpfle dresses were so beautiful all because of how she used the fabrics. I would love one with a different color or material pattern on the front and back. You could have DIFFERENT patterned material or colours on each sleeve and I would love to mix polka dots with geometric patterns and/or floral sleeves and even add a collar or lace trim onto a neckline. There are so many things you could do with just that basic pattern. pattern. Until, I can sew myself, I intend to trawl through my wardrobes, drawers etc and repurpose and alter my clothes.. If I sent you my exact body measurements (my lovely hour glass and proportioned figure, is gone due to lack of exercise because of poor health) Would you be able to make me a pattern for that dress and I would happily pay you by PayPal, if you accepted that. I don't want to to ask my friend as, she's stressed out making face masks.. I just need a pattern to suit me and she can work with it, until I can. Thank you. Kind regards, Mathona Moore.
oh my GOSH this lady simplifies this SO MUCH and has seriously boosted my self esteem when it comes to using my sewing machine. It's been sitting for almost two years now (bought it at the beginning of the pandemic) and I decided it's finally time to start learning. This video helped sooo much
Like many in this day in time quarantine has lead me to your wonderful channel!! My mother was a pro, passionate sewer. I always wanted to follow in her foot steps but she was called home before sharing her sewing tips. After watching your video I am excited to officially embark on this journey with her watching from above! You’re a great teacher!! Thanks for the inspiration 💗
This is what I call teaching. Cause you let us the meaning of the machine and what it's does. And make us understand. And not make a mess. I gave you 100 placent . U the best keep up the good work
Thank you for your course. I use to sew years ago and now wanted to start up again. I had forgotten the basics. LOL. Your class was absolutely, "P" for perfect as the the previous view suggested. Thank you again.
Fabulous tutorial 🎀 thank heaven for you! I cannot even count how many AWFUL sewing tutorials I have had the excruciating privilege of watching on TH-cam this morning.. XoXo Sarah
I love you already Gertie! Very basic information for people like me wanting to start sewing!! 😃😃😃 I love the simple and organized way you explain everything!! Thank you!!!!
I bought a second hand sewing machine in great condition about 6 years ago. It kind of just sat there. I confess, I had a kind of fear of the machine because I've never really known how to use it properly. I want to start making my own clothes and this has helped me gain confidence. Thank you.
I just wanted to say thank you! You are being a blessing to a lot of us! Keep on doing your good works! May GOD bless you richly! GOD loves you! JESUS loves You
I love this video thank you I am a 12 year old little girl who loves sewing and when I got my first actual sewing machine I was so excited and look at your video. It helped so much thank you 😊
I’m 15 and I wanted to look for a hobby other than watching Netflix all day in quarantine Lol. Thanks for this I’m really excited

Totally agree with you 😊
WOW. I learned a lot from this. Thank you. I'm nearly 60! It's almost never too late to learn something new.
We agree, never too late to learn something new! We're so excited for you to start sewing.
I've watched quite a few beginner sewing guides and this one has really made the most sense, even though I have a different machine. Thank you for explaining why/how the little things are supposed to work not just "do this, do that".
Actually I've already been sewing and didn't realize some of the things on the sewing machine that will now help me better
Good on you :-) I saw this Video and it really helped to just learn the basics of the sewing machine as well. I saw this other video and I got really mixed up at this one bit because she just said: "Turn This Thingamabob" And I was super mixed up by this, but I agree with you. :-)
I absolutely agree with you! She's amazing!

Check the thread tension.
Wait you mean she made Dorothy's costumes for The Wizard of Oz or she was a seamstress for Judy Garland personally?
@@Fopenplop: She did both on set and off set. I'm not if she made the dress used on film though.
wow, such an honor for your great grandmother! That's so amazing.
Thank you for helping with my new hobby I can't
wait to learn more.
My mom taught me how to sew when I was little. I learned on a very old school machine she purchased in the 60’s 😳. Time for me to get back to the basics 😃
good luck!
Update:
Well it is June 11th...today my sewing machine arrived.
Hello, how are you doing my friend?
This is the absolute best tutorial I've seen! No wonder it has almost 3.5 million views. Thank you Gretchen (AKA Gertie).
ohmygawwd i love you!!
I'm 13 and I use cosplay as a way to deal with my mental health so I need to learn something quicker than hand-stitching and I'm happy to see someone else doing it too :)
same, I am 13 and homeschooled, I really want to be able to make some cool clothes and face masks
Love the 50's style, she wears it well. She is also a great instructer and if I were needing and looking to learn, this would be my choice.
Of course i like to watch. N thanks for teaching showing how to use the machine. Thank again.
Amazing Maria! Good luck on your sewing adventures and feel free to share with us your progress!
Hallelujah! One of the best beginner tutorials hands down!
Amen & AMEN thee Very Best Video!!! She's heaven sent for sure!!!
You can do it!
I've sent this video to so many people since it taught me how to get started with my machine a few months ago and I've been fanatically sewing ever since! Thank you!!
Hello Lissa
I've just bought my brother sewing machine. I'm a 41 year old guy and I've been waiting for this for years.
Is anyone else obsessing over the dress and skirt in the background, or is it just me?
I know right!..I wonder if she made it or if a student did...I really like them!
kaitlyn chan right there with ya girl!
I like her shoes 👠 and lace socks! It matches her floral shirt!

Words do not describe how excited I am to start sewing once my machine comes in the mail. This video gave great information and was presented very well. Thank you very much.
My first napkin done. Thank you very much for your tutorial .
I'm an Engineer, i have started sewing after learning for a day. My new hobby.Thanks.
Retired earlier this year and want to get back into sewing. So glad these are still available, these are great how to videos.
Great video! Retired welder learning to sew...to say I'm out of my comfort zone is an understatement. But, the other day I managed to thread my machine and wind a bobbin, and, today I learned how to pivot when running a seam. Never know, if I live long enough, I just may get good at this! Thanks again.
I highly recommend this video this is the only video that has taught me how to set up my machine and I just started sewing. Thank you for your help
I’m excited to start learning how to use the sewing machine. 58-year-old male, never Sewed anything before but I’m willing to learn and excited to get started. New subscriber.
Congrats Mark! I am in my late 40s and need a creative hobby, so here I go:)))
Good for you. Now I bet you are doing a lot stuff now.

I am 10 yrs and I love to sew and now I know how to sew thank you so much ma’am for the video
our souls must be from the same era! I love 40s and 50s everything! I plan on making my whole wardrobe to match ❤️
Finally, an actual beginner video ! This was so helpful !💕
A million THANK YOUs for introducing me to hand cranking through hard parts. This has changed my quilting life. Thank you. This is a GREAT vid.
I love how you explain in detail step by step by showing not just talking.
I am 13 I have learned how to do crochet and now am excited to learn how to sew :)
I'm planning to buy a sewing machine soon. I've watched so many tutorials, but this one has been the clearest, Thank you so much.
i started sewing a couple of months ago and i find this video very helpful.
I just received my first sewing machine for Christmas, I am so glad I found your channel. Thank you for sharing.
Mademoiselle Aime Le Style me too!! :)
Me to
Same here!
How are your sewing skills now?
Enexaya, I'm sewing masks to help protect (at least a little) against COVID19. Not what I thought I'd be making, but I'm learning quickly. Thank you for asking. Also, I can make a scrunchie in five minutes or less now. 😁
Thanks for the video. Got my machine out for the first time!
This has been a buoy for me. I've forgotten so many things about sewing, and this video was a great refresher. Thank you.
Love your shoes and the clothes you wear, so graceful like a painting in motion ! What a sincere teacher. .Thank you.
You can do it!!!
Good luck bestie!
I hope everything is gone well for you!! It’s always a bit scary to start a business, especially so young and something new, but I am so sure that if you keep at it for a long time that you will become very successful ❤️❤️💙💙
Yaa I hope the busnes is going well
Yes! Go for it I wanna become a fashion designer
I'm 17 and I will create my own clothing, this really helped thank you
Fabulous video! Who knew I could learn so much in 26 minutes!?
Thank you for the fabulous introduction with excellent command of the language and use of analogies to everyday tasks (driving a car, flossing teeth, etc.). You have inspired confidence for me to take the new machine out of the box!
Hello Peggy
This video helped sooo much
Great class! I’m recommending it to my teenage granddaughter to watch before she comes to me for her first lesson.
I have to pause the video to make this comment. Amazing tutorial! You are a great teacher.
Isn't it great that so many people have such diverse and different interests and hobbies.
Hello Valerie
Fabulous tutorial 🎀 thank heaven for you! I cannot even count how many AWFUL sewing tutorials I have had the excruciating privilege of watching on TH-cam this morning.. XoXo Sarah
I love you already Gertie! Very basic information for people like me wanting to start sewing!! 😃😃😃 I love the simple and organized way you explain everything!! Thank you!!!!
My grandma giftet me an old sewing machine a year ago and I've finally found time to sit down and learn. This was really helpful.
JESUS loves You
BEST instructional video EVER!
Thank you so much. You're so helpful, clear and concise. I never had to fast forward thru boring info. You're the best !

I love this video thank you I am a 12 year old little girl who loves sewing and when I got my first actual sewing machine I was so excited and look at your video. It helped so much thank you 😊
Without a doubt the best video I've seen introducing sewing with a machine. Well done
