K'rrik is pronounced the same way as the sound you make when you open him in pack one
27:29 k’rrk was originally printed in a commander precon and is extremely powerful as a mana producer and combo enabler and the 2/2 base body was necessary for the original printing

I think cards like Marionette Apprentice are very interesting. They're like little locus cards for archetypes. Either an artifact for the affinity deck or a modified creature for WB.
Yeah I like the card a lot as it fits well into multiple strategies! Sacrifice/artifacts/counters
I think scurrilous sentry actually does synergize pretty well with cards that have effects out of the graveyard (for example the one mana dude who comes back for four mana or the uncommon reanimation spell)
K’rrik is a commander card. CEDH level commander in mono black. Definitely not for limited 😂
You didn't answer my biggest question on the card. How do you pronounce it?

@@haumph I recommend trying to simulate the sound of several branches cracking with your voice. Should get you pretty close.

The more cards I see from the set, the more I think about how nutty the land that moves counters will be. I think you gave it like a C but there have been so many cards that will be absurd with it and we’re only halfway through.
not that it matters for limited (much) but necrodominance is a triggered ability, while necropotence is an activated ability. can't be countered by pithing needle, but it does get hit by draw hate. would love to see WotC ban NP in timeless and only allow ND instead.
Scurrilous Sentry is a solid C. It's home is primarily in Golgari, Orzhov and Abzan decks whose whole deal is Modifying creatures. It can also set up your graveyard from hand which black otherwise doesn't have in this set without adding blue.
I think for necrodominance they where thinking it could go in the U/B draw 3 deck. But it could also be just for commander.
There are a lot of cards that are modified as they come in: living weapons, army tokens, modular, finality etc. I feel like they will play better than they seem. The one mana sack kill spell will probably draw a card more often than not.

Paul, not sure if you realized that the Crabomination exiles from opponent's hand and the card doesn't come back if you play one of the other ones. So it's like Hallow Marauder on steroids

@Paul Cheon It looks like green seems to be the strongest in the set in terms of overall cards/ ramp for big monsters. What color do you think pairs with it best? I was thinking blue if its ramp, and white for the counter synergy.
Too tough to tell for now but UG ramp is the combination I'm most excited to try! Blue also looks like a really strong color

Fetid Gargantua is probably a C+ _at least_ from what I've seen how it plays out in the early access. There are quite a few ways to put counters on it to draw additional cards which makes it absurd. That also pushes the amass 3 enchantment
No shot. 5 mana 4/4 that doesn’t impact the board the turn you play it is behind the curve for what you can do on 5. Also 4 toughness for 5 mana is not where you want to be with 3 common red removal spells all dealing 4 damage. I could see it conditionally being a C at best in a reasonable counter deck but there is no world this is ever a b
Tbh, black got a lot sac spells, but low token generators. The artifacts are way better for limited in my point of view. To get the sacrifice package, the draft must go totally in your favour.
Random thought early into the video, T3 Worn Powerstone into T4 Crabomination with 2 mana left open seems deece.

The trasmogrant is infinite threat/blocker in late game plus the artifact synergy plus the sacrifice synergy, seems a common on steroids if black will prove viable
47:30 looks like there's only 2 angels in the set, but they both look pretty good and they're uncommon. So not super likely to get them with gengar, but definitely will be really good if you can
Yeah. Granted Gengar doesn't need too much help to be awesome!
There's a good white rare guide of souls which can turn your creatures into angels. Also decree of justice.
Mindless Conscription could be good in BG and WB since it makes a modified creature

Its more so you can combine it’s draw 1 with one other draw 1 spell. It’ll trigger the three cards drawn keyword probably most efficiently on its attack. Also, it can work well with black green counters/modified. I believe its much more versatile than meets the eye
@@haumph No, but at least the connive can combine with some another cantrip to hit the draw 3 marker so it's not like there is zero synergy. I'd imagine the bigger synergy is in the Orzhov/Abzan modified strategies since it can self modify, assuming those are any good. Still probably a filler level card but that's where I'd most likely want to use it.
Looks like a decent card on it's own. Even if you just loot 2 lands and trade for 2 drop, it's still good if you flooding
If I'm not mistaken, you missed talking about Fell the Profane. I mean, it's hard removal and an MDFC so I assume it's a high B or better.
That was discussed in the multi-colored and colorless video along with the other spell lands. I gave it a B
The fact that you can’t not lose 3 with Grim Servant is a pretty severe downside. If you’re behind, I think grim servant will often be a dead card

I feel like it would be worth mentioning for the instant sac a creature cards like flare of malice. They seem pretty nice when they are targeting your creature with a removal spell and you sac it in response to cast it.
Fetid Gargantua actually plays way Better with any +1+1 u get 2 free cards its bonkers if u can enable it
Yeah I might need to change my opinion on it a little bit. I still don't like the idea of a 5 mana 4/4 with no immediate impact on the board but recognize that it can be quite powerful if you untap and have +1/+1 shenanigans.
Consuming Corruption is not a tempo card. I would certainly not want to play it on turn 3, "IDEALLY" this is a late game card. For UU you can deal X damage. This is an "A" card all day long in my book.
