- The Eldrazi might be getting all the hype in MH3 limited but the Boros energy decks are not far behind. It's my favorite archetype to draft and Scurry of Gremlins is the big reason why. This powerful enchantment gives you the ability to instantly kill the slower Eldrazi decks out of nowhere. Scurry of Gremlins is the Eldrazi killer!

Paul going full immersion, incorporating real lightning strikes into his energy deck
The deck was so strong that a force of nature was the only way to try and stop it.
The cut at 1:17:15 is my favorite part. Just know that Paul went off about the Chrysalis, and decided to edit it out. Don't have to play this format much to absolutely hate the card, haha. Great video, Paul.
Regarding the amulet, it's my favourite card in the set. It's really amazing in energy decks, but probably not at its best in a more aggro focused deck. I do think the inventor is replaceable enough that I'd take the amulet there, but it's definitely not a premier 2 drop for the deck. Based on the density of 4 and 5 drops as well as discharges we had in the end amulet probably works fine too.
I am not the biggest inventor fan but it seemed pretty decent here with all the gremlins and auxiliaries
@@haumph yeah the deck was probably too aggro to want to dawdle a little, though the inventor is also excellent with the amulet itself.
I think the amulet gives the aggro Decks the legs to dont fall to far behind in the mid Game. I was really impressed how it could take me over the finish line. The damals is also a nice cherry on top.

Quickdraft is going to be miserable mirrors only; the bots won't take it nearly high enough.
@@jeffr.1681I’m pretty sure they tweak the bots to pick things based on how people are drafting. At least it seems that way when they bring back the quick draft the 2nd time around for a set. But on the other hand there’s probably only two people coding arena in all of wotc so who knows.

The amulet's been very good for me. Most RW decks have plenty of energy to fuel it for the whole game. The extra damage and cards make it really hard for the slow decks to stabilize against you,
On the last opponent right around 1:21:36 they couldn't reiterating bolt with Six because that's only for non land permanents, I thought.
The amulet has played like phyrexian arena for two mana that damages my opponent whenever I put it into any of my red energy decks. Just make sure you have the two drops that make energy when they enter
How are the chances that I had a loud thunder and lightning at the exact same time as you, when I watched the video 😅. Nice deck which (with decent draws) would have deserved a 7-0. Keep it up!

How do you miss a card like chrysalis in playtesting? Its a common. It does everything.
a lot of the chrysalis decks i face in mythic are on the jankier side- card is extremely busted but maybe the hype is making people stretch their decks a little too far to fit it?
I think the amulet is better in the blue red decks like you mentioned but from what ive seen on other channels i think it would have gone nicely even with just the scurrys and galvanics to produce energy. I think your pick was fine i would just consider the inventor more replaceable sometimes the amulet just lets you flip multiple spells or lands and it can be a huge card advantage engine for red white.
I think the amulet is generally better than inventor but with 3x scurry and and 3x auxiliary, i thought inventor was the definitive pick here.

I wouldn't blame you if you tap out of this format. Chrysalis (and Eldrazi as a whole to a lesser extent) kind of took the wind out of the sails of MH3.
It's definitely rough for sure.

I've played the Amulet is WR decks, but they all had either: Aether Revolt and I was digging, or Party Thrasher. It's ok.
How do you feel about snap picking Crysalis, even if it doesnt belong in your deck? This would take Chris out of many decks, but you could be missing out on a helpful card for your deck if you go this route.
Honestly it can't ever be that wrong to take chrysalis whenever you see it.

Awww man! I wanted Paul to punish the player that dropped strix serenade by dealing lethal with the flyer he got. That was a heartbreaking lost!

Your thunder adventure reminds me of the story my mom told me of lightning striking right outside her house. Said it was the loudest thing she's ever heard, and it made the deactivated crt tv glow from static afterward.

The other drafters at this table lost their minds. Letting scurry table pack 1 and ajani table pack 2 in possibly the two best colors in the format.

what does it mean galvanic discharge can kill Chrysallis? this only happens if opponent didn't sacrifice the spawns right?
correct but what I mean is when you point the discharge at the chrysallis and if you have the energy to kill it, you can spend 3 energy on resolution if they don't sacrifice. Your opponents don't get a window to sacrifice spawns to keep it alive. If they sacrifice in response to the discharge then you simply spend more energy as needed to kill it.
That white saga is very reminiscent of Elspeth Conquers Death, which did check cmc3+.

Didn't even consider Chtonian Nightmare p1p2...a bit surprising, it's a great buildaround..doesn't go with stump stomp tbf
i think black is the worst color in the set so unless a card is busted (crabomination, ophiomancer, toxic deluge) , i'll usually lean into other colors.
Draw 3 deck can do alright as well.. it really hinges on some key cards tho
you need a lot of snackers and deem inferior in my experience
dont think i agree with taking 4th discharge over 1st gatekeeper when u both needed creatures and have 3 copies of scurry and 2 copies or inventor going into ur main deck. i love discharge as much as anyone but u said u wnated threats and ur already cutting removal from ur deck.
As much as I want a random 3 drop creature, I'm not taking it over swords to plowshares. I'd rather take my chances and hope some random filler 2 or 3 drop tables or makes it into my deck. my creature count wasn't embarrassingly low.
I think rosecot knight is a very real card in thus deck considering it can find triple scurry of gremlins, double ajani fells the godsire, static prison, dog umbra, and some creatures. thats a lot of very good hits imo
Even if it has hits, it's a 5 drop 3/4. I'm not interested in playing too many cards at that mana cost in an aggressively slanted deck.
Is there a world where Wizards bans Crysalis?
I feel if it's a viable splash in the red/white energy deck then it's clearly format breaking.
I don't think that'll happen but I'm sure they learned their lesson after this set

10:03 I see gatekeeper much more often in red aggro than unicorn, and it's always pinging me for like 5+ in go wide decks.
I like unicorn more.
