Finally I could remove the left 3rd row seat with the help of this Afrikaner. Thank you kindly. I watched two others prior with all the music and no instructions which in the end didn't help at all.
Thank you! For anyone with a newer Fortuner with electric seats, the little electrical socket has a squeeze clip to pull off and then a flat head or butter knife to pop the cable holder out of place.
Hey mate thanks heaps for that video it help me out a lot, I found with that tricky bolt you out the seat down and get your socket in there as there’s a gap for it
When you hear or see a South African with tools, you know its going to be done right! After 4 years, this is still the only video that shows the correct way to do it.
Don't remove the trim that goes around and under the hinge to get to center bolt, instead lift the seat and pop off the small cover attached to seat which is close to the hinge. It is held by two white clips and pops off. Now you put the seat back down and you can get to the center bolt with the ratchet from above after popping off the top hinge/spring cover. This is easier and only ratchet needed to finish the job.
Thanks for this tip. Once you remove that panel underneath, you really only need to remove the first two panels and then this one. No panel removal underneath, no need to struggle with the mechanism or to even use a ring or flat spanner as you can access the middle bolt with ease. Turns this into an easy 5 minute job
Thanks Dick, I was tempted to use an angle grinder and a 12 pound hammer. . The buzzer behind the dash was so irritating, I stripped the dash and drilled a hole through the speaker.. Problem solved !!
Many thanks, it helped me a great deal. but very important. Do follow the advice given by Velocedad below. It will save you a lot of time and effort by using the 14 mm ratchet and not the ring spanner.
@@steveoko I just put mine back in. Much easier than removing them. They simply locate with a built in lug, you hook them up, insert the bolts and tighten. Took me 5 minutes.
Thanks for the advice and the warning of the annoying bits. Got it done in under an hour thanks to your help
Your video is much better than the ones done by Filipino guy. Thanks pal.
Really appreciate what you have done Dick! That was much more complicated than I realized. Will tackle it now.

You've quite possibly saved me from going completely postal on the neighbourhood! Thanks for posting!

Just tried it... got as far as trying to loosen that middle nut... darn it’s half impossible...but thanks for the video...
Just loosen the other 2 a bit and then jam in a level to lift the bracket and make more space.
