Dan I can't get over the quality of your style of editing. It's like I'm watching a pro seasoned edited motor trend or car and driver video, very entertaining and extremely detailed. Amazing work! How long in general does it take you to edit a video like this??
J Teri thanks! I don’t log the time but it’s been in process for about 3 weeks. And I haven’t had to do my regular job for two of those! But a lot of new techniques were used here so took a little longer. There was also more than an hour of footage I needed to turn into a story.
I believe the Miata was ahead due to driver skill. I grew up in a low-powered car beating higher-powered ones. Folks always thought it must be the car, not realizing the driver has a lot to do with it. Oh, spin out... like a lot. Find the limits of the car, no matter what it is. I did it with my Honda, which is hard to do in a front wheel drive car.
For those watching in the UK like me, there are lots of local car clubs that do Auto tests, (basically the same as autocross), it's cheap, fun and you don't need any special equipment or cars, anything from a small hatchback or mx5, up to a big 5 series bmw will work. Check out www.motorsportuk.org
Hi, I always enjoy watching your videos they're great quality and very informative. I do have a question however in regards to your buddy Vince's Cadillac V Sport. What kind of maintenance issues did he have? I am having one delivered in the next week. It is a one-owner car that was well-maintained according to the Carfax reports. I'm having it shipped through carvana since I have bought a car from them before in the past and they do have that 7-Day trial test driver test to own as they call it. I have done a lot of research and in regards to the V Sport. However, when it comes to reliability and trying to do the research on the web these are pretty much all over the place some good some bad. It is going to be my daily and replacing the Q50 Hybrid sport I currently have. I will probably not mod it out because I already have a weekend warrior car. Which is my 05' GTO which has most of the goodies for auto cross and road course racing.
There's a tendency to believe that 2014 model year has more problems but that perception can be skewed because there were about 3x as many VSports produced that year over any other year. In California the lemon laws are pretty strong. I think more than 30 days TOTAL that the car has been in for repairs qualifies it. He had overheating issues, some issue with the headrest, probably a CUE go out and some other things. Let me check with him and will write more.
Ok, not the CUE but exhaust leak, wastegate rattle (replaced), rear shocks went out, ventilated seats stopped working. These are all things you will probably see at some point but he had less than 50k miles if I remember. When the buyback was offered it made too much financial sense to not take it. He still misses the car.
@@JetFuelOnly Ok thanks for the response and information. I know that with any model the first year is typically the year to avoid when buying a car. I did the same thing a few years ago when buying the Q50 Sport. When it came out in 2014, I waited and got the 2015 model year because if there are any problems. The manufacturer would have the issues resolved by then. There were only a couple of things that stood out in the carfax report. One of them was "radio/sound system repair" and the other was "computer reprogrammed." Other than that it was just regular performed maintenance. Ironically it was a California car then the owner moved to Arizona. I reside in Georgia and the lemon laws here are strong here as well. Hopefully, I will not have the issues that your friend had. If he misses the car he should try again and buy another. Possibly a newer on 2015, 2016, or newer. Thank you again and have a great rest of the weekend!
Radio replacement was surely a cracked CUE screen. Computer reprogram? Hmm not sure which computer but if it was the ECU I wonder if they found a tune or something?
@@JetFuelOnly That is a good question but I am not 100% sure. I will be scheduling an appointment to have the car gone over again with my service advisor (Vladimir) and the mechanics on his team that I have done business with for years. Just to see what they come up with. Although dealers like Carvana have their 150 point inspection checks, for better peace of mind I know that Vladimir will take his time and he is honest which is sometimes difficult to find in an auto repair industry.
juanito12361 Check our my sway bar upgrade video and its description. CTS-V and ATS-V rear bars are same GM part bumper. You can use ATS-V front sway bar too but that’s not same as CTS-V front.
juanito12361 since the rear are the same it doesn’t matter. If you want the best upgrade get the ATS-V upgrade bars at www.renickperformance.com/products/ats-v-sway-bar-kit
On my CTS my wireless charging on my note 10 plus won't work. I thought it was because the phone was to big. But I tried other phones to the same result. Any ideas? It's in the hidden compartment.
feeky11 I don’t have experience with that but I would make sure the phone is laying flat. Try removing the rubber pad to see if it helps. If not then it may not be powerful enough. It’s not a Qi chargers that’s why iPhone X doesn’t work.
They are a part supplier but they don’t have an online catalog. You can always provide them with or ask for part numbers based on VIN and they can get any GM part you need

@@JetFuelOnly I have to agree with J Teri. It's a pleasure to watch your videos. Keep them coming and thank you for the hard work you put in to those!
me: finishes one of Daniel's videos
v-sport: warming up getting ready to hunt V8's
Got to embarrass some r/t chargers 😜
Great comparison. Those two are lots of fun on the track.

Oh shit! I live in Monterey county, had no idea about Marina Airport
I remember when you were all about the 1/4 mile runs. I guess you matured!
