Smart move for Ironwood to have Robyn use her semblance on him. I love the detail of when he lied about Amity being ready, the broadcast only showed his face, so Watts wouldn't know he was lying.

Ironwood is a much maligned character. He was right in so many ways. Ironwood saw the big picture: lose Mantle, but save Remnant. RWBY and co. can only see what's in front of them.
Uhh... No Ironwood's plan would not save Remnant. If Salem decided to pull back after Atlas was raised, she would destroy the rest of Remnant. And that's if she pulled back and didn't just continue her attack. Ironwood cared about Atlas above all else.
Well, he saw the "medium" picture. Sacrifice Mantle to save Atlas (and thus Remnant), yes, but couldn't see that his vision was still ridiculously smaller than Oz's. He kept sabotaging Oz who, while not perfect, still had whole lifetimes of memories of being an even better tactician than Ironwood. Ironwood has the fortitude and the compassion but not the trust and the humility. Right from his first appearance in Volume 2, his flaws have been apparent. Oz was right to appreciate what Ironwood brings to the fight, but Qrow was also right to continuously call him out on stuff.

What's genocide is keeping the relics within Salem's reach. You might think Ironwood has no right to trade the lives of the people in Mantle, but likewise, nobody has the right to risk the lives of the people of Mantle, Vale, Vacuo, Atlas AND Mantle by letting Salem get the relics.
