stoneyridgeshop.com Folks thanks so much for watching today! Please...grab yourself some Stoney Ridge goodies and support the farm/channel and content! It all helps so much....Without you there would be no Stoney Ridge Farm! I appreciate you all so much!
I just changed my hydraulic filter on my 5065E and I had one hell of a time getting it off. Of course you always pierce a hole in it so you are committed at that point. I almost gave up and thought so was going to have to call Deere field service to get it off. I finally got it with a large pair of channel locks as well. It was a lot tighter spot than what you have there
I think I get it. the vacuum pulls The fluid so it doesn't drop. That seems really smart. For the record I watched Dukes of Hazard, every Friday night, when I was a youngster! Wooo, and SAVE AMERICA!
That could be helpful - thanks for sharing! Also, I’d encourage using a sharpie to write the date and engine hours directly onto the new filter housings.
my kioti tractor original filters were the same way. i struggled just like you and ended up using the same type of large pliers to remove all 3 filters crushing them too!
Not one to give advice but always want good people to make the world a better place so Proverbs 18:22. And now THATS AWESOME 😁 I'm suburbs so prefer 3 hours of well managed business and 8 doing the fun stuff on the ranch. One's attitude really changes when work becomes pleasure right! Keep up to good 🍻
Hey Josh thank you for the video but you made a boo-boo you forgot to put a little bit of oil on that filter gasket so that one when you go to take it off it's going to be hard to get off to woo
suggestion write date and hrs on filter more equipment you more should write it on new filters also a selling point if reselling or have to take to repair shop
The reason the filter is so tight is they paint the tractor with the filters on. Take a razor blade and go around the filter before trying to take it off and it will come off easier. Hope this helps someone.
Agreed, I believe that both of you are correct, the website agrees that the weight of a bare T574 is in the neighborhood of 4,200 pounds, however, his also is wearing an 1,100 pound loader, and I suspect he also finished out the ensemble with that sexy, yet totally invisible rear tire ballast fluid, putting his tractor in the 6,500 pound range he mentioned, and you are correct, that still shouldn't kick the breaker of an 8,000 pound lift.
Yeppers. I had to get the chain wrench version of an oil filter wrench on my Mahindra the first time. With a cheater pipe. I wish they wouldn't paint them on, but that's part of the price point...
❤❤VIDEO ❤❤🎉🎉 that’sa funny❤I watched it 3 times ❤that’s how much I liked it❤TOOL TUESDAY on MONDAY ❤ great informative video ❤❤just like the olden days ❤❤when you showed changing the oil in your truck ❤❤
Questions for you do remember where you got your building from and about how much do you have in it $$$ and do you recommend the company for my next building and any other details about the building??
Over time fluid breaks down so I would think that's another reason you'd want to change the fluid. Now do I regularly change my hydraulic fluid? Absolutely not 😆
yep...it does break down over time....you can easily send off a sample to test it to ensure you don't need to change your fluid, this tractor should las 500 hours on hydraulic fluid...no sense in wasting it at 150 hours
Well.... on my tractor the hydraulic oil is in the sump of the gear case..... The oil needs to be changed periodically because of wear metals. I don't do it often but every few hundred hours should suffice.
yep.....agreed....but in some cases you cold just send a sample off...see that it's good and just change the filter....much cheaper than wasting all that oil
I don't have a coupon...so sorry...I did put a link down there in the video description to Amazon for ya to purchase....sorry no coupon...they keep selling out I'm told! Really is a great idea!
yep...but you've never done that have ya? lol This is a great idea...and basically pays for itself after 1 or 2 uses. I think it's awesome....American company too!!
some tractors have well over 10 gallons of hydraulic fluid.....I just don't have a 10 gallon bucket my friend...this prevents all that...honestly a great tool
it's a little different than changing the oil, on a tractor like this that's hydrostatic the oil isn't heated and broken down as fast because it's not only lubricating...it's pumping. You're really only pushing oil v/s using oil for an engines full lubrication. Hydraulic oil in most cases won't be as bad as the engine oil...therefore may not need changing every time your change your filter.
are ya serious bro? You understand that this is a 1/2 million dollar shop right? Pointing out that the cattle end of my business is struggling and how I'm handling it wasn't meant to give you a reason to put me down. The cattle portion of my farm business needs to earn...that's what I talk about...not that I'm poor or can't afford...it's that the cattle part needs to stand on it's own two feet my friend. Please stop looking for a reason to put me down....I'm a hard working man that doesn't deserve to be treated like a politician.

Josh, that would be a really handy tool. Thanks brother. May you find rain soon.
I hope so too

Josh your owners manual has all your pm fluid levels.

Love it. What a great Tool Tuesday.
It's been 100+ in Oklahoma. I'm holding off on feeding hay so far.

Always love the bloopers! Big T, Mr. T "shut up foo"
You gotta be a certain age to remember Tony the tiger!!! Maybe u need to try LMNT hydration.

Great video today
Chain wrench is good for stubborn filters.
If the nozzle can fit on both ends can it be use to blow the system out when changing the fluid ?? Just a thought.
Yes
Josh, my 55hp TYM weight is 4,200 lb. You might want to check your owners manual. Should still be lower than the hoist max.

Hey Josh@stoney ridgefarmer question about lift does it anchor in the concrete. The 4 post lift.
either or...so you can make it mobile or mount it...I still have mine mobile
I always use a paint pen to mark the date and hours or mileage on the filter because my feeble mind can lose track.
I want to hear the race car again ❤
me too!!!
Got 1 inch of much needed rain last night.
It sucks!🤣 Vacuum, sucks, get it!🤣 Bad joke Tuesday.
Cool
Where did you find the millet?
most any farm store....or landscape supply store where the landscape contractors buy materials

They should to make one that uses DeWalt or Milwaukee batteries.
Questions for you do remember where you got your building from and about how much do you have in it $$$ and do you recommend the company for my next building and any other details about the building??
dws steel structures in stokesdale nc. Prices are up and down due to steel prices...you'd need to contact them this is 50x112 with 24 ft peak
If you use a hammer and hit the bottom of the filter a couple times, not super hard it will turn off easy.

yep...but you've never done that have ya? lol This is a great idea...and basically pays for itself after 1 or 2 uses. I think it's awesome....American company too!!
Why not just capture the fluid in aclean container and put back in tractor?
some tractors have well over 10 gallons of hydraulic fluid.....I just don't have a 10 gallon bucket my friend...this prevents all that...honestly a great tool
Why not just change filter when it’s due for a fluid change……that filter is most likely spotless inside.
it's a little different than changing the oil, on a tractor like this that's hydrostatic the oil isn't heated and broken down as fast because it's not only lubricating...it's pumping.
