Just got my friend to purchased mine in Japan since he was in town. I cant wait ! Price was bit high like everyone says, but I look at it in a long run how much I can appreciate this watch as I use it daily. Im not going to be worried about scratching it . It will add more character to the watch and I will love it even more. I love the overall design and details. Im a fan of GUNDAM so I think this watch has all the unique style.
This is the coolest square Casio has ever come out with. I want one, but I would be too afraid of scratching it up to wear it. At $500, I wouldn't think twice, but at $1700, I just can't justify it.
Even 500 is too much for me. 200-300 is my limit for digital watches. I wont go over 600 for any watch. It is just my budget. Maybe if I was a billionaire maybe.
Agree, really like the look, saw the price and laughed and X'ed right out. No way in hell. I have the full metal steel G-square and I love it, but I bought it used. This thing is not worthy of that price tag. Sorry Casio, I don't see how you're ever making the money back from the tooling you spent for these titanium squares at the prices you charge for them.
It does look super awesome I love the aesthetic . I went down that road with getting the “Tron” metal g-shock which I liked but ultimately ended up selling when the novelty wore off.
Nothing justifies it's price. At first glance, the average person would mistake it from a g shock that is a fraction of the price. A thief wouldn't even steal it because they wouldn't think it is worth much.
@@SourStrawberrys valid argument but sometimes the value to a collector like me is the scarcity…We could make that argument for all of the $1,000 plus square g-shocks but the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The value of the watch is actually $70 below retail in resell market now, and in some countries it is even more below that. I just bought mines for $200 brand new, when it retailed for $270. But I didn't buy it because I thought it will go up in value, but because it is actually a unique looking model that stands out from the rest of the squares and I like the look personally. (I mean it also is carbon core but that doesn't mean much as all g shocks are pretty indestructible) My point is, not every "limited" or special edition expensive model raises in value over time. Sometimes it drops. Did I think mines was worth the price of $270, no. But for $200 eventhough it is still high, the 3 exchangeable bands (2 pretty unique in design), 2 exchangeable face plate, carbon core material, makes up for it. As for this $1650 one. They can just make it out of the resin material and make it look similar if that would bring the price down to less than $1000. Doesn't need to be titanium.

Beautiful watch and a great video review, thank you. It would have been nice to see an overhead view of what the face looked like with the back lighting though. Other than that it was a great review, especially as you really showed the watch from different angles. I have an iPad Pro (4 speakers) and didn’t have a problem with the audio and could hear everything without raising the volume. Maybe the volume problem for some is the iPad, iPod, iPhone model or other brand of tablet or phone that is causing the audio issue that some have commented on.

They have to artificially limit the watch! More customers they can’t find at the price. The same marketing as other brands! Works apparently always. :-)
Does an expensive Swiss automatic do anything “special”?
@@e28forever30 No. Same thing but Swiss is not Swiss. If you mean Rolex, AP, Patek, … these are mechanical watches. That does not mean I like it more. Inside the G-Shock ist a cheap chip without nothing. If I like elektronic I buy a iwatch and with the money I save a iPad. You get only watch functions of the 80s but pay for an super computer of 2021. :-)

First: there is no such thing as an “iWatch”.
You mean Apple Watch.
Secondly, you don’t get the point.
Go ahead and buy a smart watch, any smart watch.
In 2 years time, it will be old news, dated, with an exhausted battery and no longer receiving updates.
In other words: rubbish.
This watch will still be happily doing it’s job, it is simple in all its functions, but it is built tot be your companion for many years, without skipping a beat.
@@e28forever30 funny. After you wear that G-Shock every day, you will see what you get for that in 2 years. Nerds later only want nos and second hand price. If the watch have scratches you can sell it for 50%. So I can put my iwatch or Apple Watch after 2 years with a smile into waste.

The G-Shock will still be working and you will throw away the Apple Watch.
Smart man, very smart.
G-shock smooth as a dress watch...c'mon, they need to make it with brushed steel...that would kill the sales but as usual Japanese companies don't like profit
No G-Shock are highly collectible, not even the 1983 original one is especially expensive. And no other is too.
G-Shocks pretty much ALWAYS loose in value, in best case they keep the value somewhat.
This is just plain wrong. Plenty gain value. Check eBay for what certain LE models have gone for.
@@watchdogpodcast239 I wouldn't say plenty, maybe a few. It's like sneakers, it's street culture thing but these high dollar prices for digital watches is rather nutty. Oceanus makes stuff much more worthy of the price and is Casio's actual higher end line up.
@@Shintsu2 Plenty do. The John Mayer G Shock and NASA released last year are still selling on eBay at double the price and then some. Just to name a couple. Several other square models as well. Most Frogman models go up. Like I said, not all, but saying none do is wrong.
I wanted this watch, until I saw that a PTR 9C (MP5 clone) was cheaper lol 😂
Looks like it was made by Weyland Yutani!
The lack of a negative display seems like a miss (to me) on an otherwise perfectly-designed watch. That alone kept me from buying this one. Hoping for another model in the future with that change.
The upcoming GMW-B5000TVB has a negative display.
Amazing and beautiful watch ⌚ but cost is to much think a will go for the rangeman 👍
I wish it is black screen and red numbers
Casio went overboard with the text on the wristband.... a watch, not a book. ⌚📘
Nice watch but lug to lug is bad I prefer my gshock GWM 5610 1ER and the other negative black version.
Love it, want it but for $2500 Canadian I ain’t buying a gshock man. $2500 I’m buying a oris or Hamilton.
I want it but I can't justify the price.
They try to explain everything on the watch itself because nobody reads the manual
Yeah I'm not going to spend 1600 bucks for a G-Shock.
A bit pricey….although a jazzy looking watch.
tried it and no. This feels like a resin gshock, that's all. I'd take the TR9.
Впечатлили меня эти Джи-Шоки. Только я не понял ничего из этого тарабарского языка....
I mean just get a aliexpress case and bracelet, and you'll get pretty much the same experience
nah
Nope. I want the real thing from Japan, not Chinese junk parts from Ali Expess.
Omfg I need this
I prefer this over the new Mr-G 🤷🏻♂️

Good^^
