    An example of why a solid backup QB is essential.

    • @brooksorlando4881
      @brooksorlando4881 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Yeah I've always thought teams are better off overpaying slightly to have a better backup QB, and kicker. Sometimes teams will just take whoever at either position. Their emphasis is elsewhere. QB is the most important position on the field and guys regularly get hurt...and games boil down all the time to kicks to win it. It's good to have a nice lb or safety, but I would split up the cap in that way

    If Chad gets a ring this year, he can be DAMN proud of two things about it. #1- He led the longest post-season drive in Chiefs history, and #2- That drive's 7 points was the margin of victory. If Chad doesn't step up on this drive, the outcome of this game is up for debate.

      This was a 98 yard drive after Patrick Mahomes twisted his ankle badly and was questionable for the AFC championship game so Chad Henne split time with Patrick Mahomes with the first string offense if Patrick couldn't play if the pain was too much

      C'mon guys...put some respect on Chad Henne's name. A lot of starting QBs, much less backups with next to no pre-prep, could not have stepped in like that. A team feeds of their belief in the QBs ability to execute - and the Chiefs' O-line, receivers, backs...everyone...stayed up during that drive because they trusted Henne to fill in. [Reid delivered that message, loud and clear, when making the first play from their own 2-yard line a pass...a team doesn't do that unless they have faith the QB will take care of the ball. That first play set the tone for the duration of that drive...the longest by a Chiefs' QB in playoff history, by the way.]

    What was really great about this 98 yard drive for a touchdown, led by Henne, w unbelievable running by Pacheco, is not only the TD, it gave Mahomes time with Halftime to be well enough to complete the game. You know, if they can win the next one he gets 2 weeks off to get better. Then if Mahomes gets hurt you might see Purdy and Henne in the Super Bowl…great job Henne, and a very great job by Mahomes to come back!

    Chad Henne was able to get rid of the ball really quickly, and the OL seemed to hold well with him in there. Just wonder if Mahomes held the ball too long in order for the deep routes to get open. Over the last 2-3 games, Mahomes often seemed to have missed the open guys to his left. I appears his vision of the field now is not as good as at the beginning of his nfl career.

    • @LoveLife-oo9cz
      @LoveLife-oo9cz ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree. Wonder if Mahomes takes a bit time to get rid of the balls. Henn passed the ball so quickly, OL didn't have a problem with him. Eiher all the teammates stepped up playing like "we have to step up and we can do it everyone". Anyways, it shows that the Chiefs are not a one man show person. They did it without Tyreek Hill and they will do it again.
