Yes, he never won a superbowl but tons of great qbs never made it that far either. Think of how terrible most of his defenses were and how mediocre his coaching always was. And, until the mid 2010s, he had one of the worst O lines in football. This SuperBowl run solidified how important Gronkowski was for that team. Having a excellent receiving TE who can also block better than most of their offensive lineman was huge. First football game I ever watched (I’m 18 now). I’ve been a lifelong basketball fan but my friends kept encouraging me to watch football. So I decided to watch this game and changed my life as a sports fan. Even though they lost, something about the Chiefs made me love them and I’ve been a fan ever since. People say I’m a bandwagon fan but I could care less. Win or lose, I love this team lol.

Open field tackles were so exhausted and half hearted, it kept giving NE an extra 3-4 yards on every stop and it looked more like they were trying to play patty cake than bring anyone down, aside from that fantastic 4th down stop up the gut before Mahones rallied. It was one hell of a gunfight, despite the usual last half of the 4th quarter being another Flag Fiesta. A slightly more physical D line, and it would definitely have been KC going to meet the Rams. This SuperBowl run solidified how important Gronkowski was for that team. Having a excellent receiving TE who can also block better than most of their offensive lineman was huge. It’s a reason why the offense looked so lost for the Pats in 2019. And why Tampa won the SuperBowl in 2020. He’s probably the greatest TE ever for a reason

Gronk was important for outside runs but in terms of inside running he probably was a good enough blocker to seal the backside and allow wirfs or smith to double, dont have film to support this but I assume he did allow for that

First football game I ever watched (I’m 18 now). I’ve been a lifelong basketball fan but my friends kept encouraging me to watch football. So I decided to watch this game and changed my life as a sports fan. Even though they lost, something about the Chiefs made me love them and I’ve been a fan ever since. Open field tackles were so exhausted and half hearted, it kept giving NE an extra 3-4 yards on every stop and it looked more like they were trying to play patty cake than bring anyone down, aside from that fantastic 4th down stop up the gut before Mahones rallied.
It was one hell of a gunfight, despite the usual last half of the 4th quarter being another Flag Fiesta. A slightly more physical D line, and it would definitely have been KC going to meet the Rams. KC & Mahones deserve a Legion of Boom.
