    Thank you for this and I appreciate that you don't talk down or dumb down what you are presenting. For me it allows the ability and branch out in my learning plus, I learned a new bass line as well.

    Many thanks for this. I've been playing bass for a long time and can work out most songs pretty quickly but this one was a bit of a challenge so you've saved me a lot of time.

    Man, I've been listening to this cut for years. Just found out out it's on a playlist for a gig in a few weeks. Thanks for breaking it down. I was missing one note on the extended run. Thanks for the help my brother. Stay cool!

    Definitely the best tutorial to Masterblaster on TH-cam! I am a fairly new beginner on the bass regarding Motown music. Started off playing along to Steve Harris of Iron Maiden! This is a great bass line and your lesson is great and at a level i can understand! Brilliant! Greetings from Ireland!

    Dont make a Basslesson with 5 strings....

    • @doxx2427
      @doxx2427 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why not? My first bass was/is a five string. I see no problem here.

    • @insanity_squirrel
      @insanity_squirrel 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@doxx2427 because not everyone has one and its harder to see what is going on. Also in the into he uses a B flat/flat 7 that he never explains how to do with 4 strings.. as the octave of this is on the 5th string...

    Who r u really teaching this to? Advanced players? Why don't you name the notes instead of talking about shapes or "tone chords".? If the video was not meant for general public then you should have entitled the video: Master Blaster tutorial for advanced Bass players.

    • @TedTalksBass
      @TedTalksBass  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Picco bow is there something in the tutorial that you don't understand? If so I'm glad to help you out. In the interest of keeping videos of this nature sure fine details are purposely omitted.

    • @romulus_
      @romulus_ 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      an hour of reading about basic music theory would set you straight. he didn't say anything too technical. and a true beginner would likely have trouble playing this song anyway.

    • @PitcherIPA
      @PitcherIPA 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sometimes when you're learning you might have to play something tough 50 times before you get it, I could see how a video like this would help a novice to learn this track, but also gain more confidence along the way. I appreciate that he didn't dumb it down. It's a Stevie Wonder song, which by nature is advanced. You gotta have your fundamentals.

      Picco bow because the fastest way to learn bass or guitar or piano is to learn common chord progressions and shapes. triads 1st. then 7th chord shapes. then most common chord progressions. and corresponding pentatonic scale shapes. it will save u so much time to learn songs...
