  • 2009 Volvo XC70 T6 120,000km. Driver door stop has gone bad and makes horrible noise when using the door. The solution is to replace the part or buy an aftermarket repair kit.
    Original Volvo part fits both Left/Right front doors: 31298466 and Both Left/Rear doors 31298467.

    Wow, my doors that have been used for ~365000km doesn't sound as bad. But now I'm tempted to have them changed anyway, thankfully they're a bit cheaper on this side of the pond apparently.
    But as usual, good and educational video 🙂

    Same problem on my 2008 S80 D5, although mine has 316k km. Your channel is a goldmine for us P3 owners.
    So now on my list is trunk VOLVO badge wide letters retrofit, rear taillight facelift retrofit, TFT display retrofit along with flashing language to english, door hinges and stoppers, waterfall console retrofit (just like the one you did), R-Design steering wheel, rear view camera retrofit that makes RTM pop out when in reverse (already have CFE module that can program RTM to do that, just wiring needed at this point), R-Design pedals and change gear knob into one that's in better shape. Lots of work await, and my wallet is getting anxious :)

    • @FullTimeGamerR
      @FullTimeGamerR 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@janskrabal6843 He did a retrofit of mid-cycle facelift waterfall, the plastic part that have the chrome bits on the sides. I mean the console in the middle that goes from under the A/C wents until the cupholders. There should be a video somewhere on his channel of how it looks.

    The fact that you do these re and re items makes for valuable viewing...I do believe the quality of all parts has degraded over the years, so, not surprised to see the in service time of parts reduced...Sadly, the price of the car does not reflect the lesser parts quality installed....

    That looks like plain old white lithium grease for the door. As far as life time ? I am sure Volvo would say you have already got a lifetime use on this car. Fourteen years old now. I agree with you that part should last longer but you do live in a very cold climate so that might affect all these plastic parts. Thanks for your videos.

    One video I'd love to see is fixing the window (auto) up feature. I have a 2010 s80 v8 and my window will only go up halfway, and then drops back down. I've had it apart 3 times and was never able to find anything obstructing the window channel that would signal the safety feature to drop. It's the most annoying feature of a rather amazing car.

    • @kapucinski
      @kapucinski 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lower the window all the way, then raise it all the way, then hold the switch in the "up" position for 10 seconds. That should reset it.

    My XC70 is a 2012 model with 140k miles and they work fine. I think it’s because I’m old school and lubricate all locks and door straps every 3 months.
    Off the topic-have you not thought about changing mirrors for 2013+ V70 mirrors. That’s what I’m doing on mine. It’s just my opinion but I think they look better with that type of indicator.

    • @volvosweden
      @volvosweden  ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe not enough lube. That will be an expensive retrofit.

  • @legambaz

    The other thing that shouldn't happen is that inner lock handle mechanism. I thought they would have at least improved the design, but, seeing your video, it's exactly like my P2. The plastic shit they use never last!!! BAD design no doubt.....door handles, door stops etc !!!!!
