I started machining in 1974 on a lathe built for WWII war production. The transition from that to all CNC happened over the forty four years that I worked. Can't tell you how much better it is to work with a CNC machine tool as opposed to manual machines. I've run jobs on some of the machines shown here or at least ones similar to. The five axis mill (motorcycle helmet) looks like it could generate a monstrous expensive wreck. I retired before they got the five axis running steady, so no experience there.

Let along think of what we will have in the next 5 years or so. Metal 3D printing has became a big thing for rapid prototyping. But a few companies such as DMG Mori have created a combination machine that uses interchangeable heads that first builds the structure, and then it switches it out with normal cutting tools (like in this video) to finish the part.
If you look at history, the basics for machining is over 250 y. old. Not counting hand-spinning the pots and timbers. 》"The machine which made everything"
Thank you, the helmet is the most intricate odject I have ever seen done with robotic CNC. The three dimensional table coordination with the three dimensional milling head is incredible.
For an even more intricate demo, see if you can find the Leaning Tower of Pisa cut on a Roders CNC. Found the linky: th-cam.com/video/BeHaSSbcwPs/w-d-xo.html
We just got a brand new Mazak 5 axis machine center and it is just incredible. We also received a tooling package from PH Horn that uses the heat shrink collets and presetter then a balancer. I have been playing around with it and every time I do I find some new feature or capability I never knew existed. Magic!

Bike helmet was amazing, good job. Worked with 5-axis and simultaneous milling, I still find it mesmerizing to watch considering the emense work behind it
Amazing technology! I just got an old 1950's metal lathe and I'm happy as can be. (Just can't make one of those aluminum helmets) ; ( Thanks for sharing!
All you need, a likely a lot better built machine. I kind of prefer manual milling and lathe work, more satisfaction - albeit slower, CNC is very cool but I have no practical need for one.
Any idea of the music. I got the first song but I can't find the 2 others. 4:28 and 8:30. The music fit perfectly with the captivating images. Good job, thx.... oops! I just saw the info. For some reason, I couldn't see those infos on my iphone. Cheers

they're not as hard to operate and maintain as you would think, I'm 16 and can do it easily. most if it is learning CAD and how to draw your tool paths with different materials etc.
Its actually not as simple as you think, for making your own single piece part in your garage, maybe, but for large scale runs (or single for that matter) for intricate parts that have a tolerance down to .0001" everything comes into consideration. The Genius that developed that program for the helmet💪

Well yeah the programm itself is Computer generated but it requires a genius to get it all to function without breaking the whole machine
The time u spend on machining, always going to be shorter than programing
I was a machinist for 40 yrs.fine video..good job
That motorcycle helmet was insane😱
that motorbike helmet was awesome
matthew jones just a model
@@unwarranteddumbassery9263
Umm Its still awesome?!
Смотрел-бы и смотрел на работу этих станков. Фантастика.
Спасибо за показ.
На самом деле не все так просто и в реальной работе мало
что видно все залито эмульсией . Это показаны ролики для залипал .
If only I could afford this kind of technology... :)
So cool man
I actually have 2 cnc lathes
You are the man, I have A cnc vacuum cleaner....................
I have a couple of these in my garage :]
Timba Wulf Osu! I think that 3d pro ring has been around since the 70s or 80s it has just gotten cheaper and therefore more popular
CNC Machines are amazing
Watching this high in class on a stormy day is why life is beautiful
Thanks. My 6 year old grandson will love this video.
Our pleasure :)
no he wont
no human will ever match what a CNC machine can do. CNCs are the ultimate sculpture
ROFL......you think these machines and program software were made by artificial intelligence?
Imagine showing this to someone 100 years ago.
MercilessHobo wonder what we will have in another 100 years

that helmet sculpture.. freaking awesome
Work in furniture and I run and program cnc and seeing videos like this still amazes me
learning how to work with those machines atm, its so satisfying when you wrote such a program and you watch the work. its amazing.
yeah and can be expensive (when something gone wrong!) :D
I wanna know who made the program for the bike helmet. Absolutely incredible
And what are you going to do when you figured the name out?
My guess is that it's a team effort from "Hypermill" staff since it's a demo part.
This is a robot, and it envolves an operation of six axis or more.
