Yay to healthily questioning consumption behavior!! I honestly think the bookshelf turned out pretty good. Maybe you could fill the gaps with other media that you own? I had my movie collection on my bookshelves for a few years. I've also seen framed Artwork displayed on shelves and always thought that that was a great way to make the empty gaps more aesthetically pleasing.
Happy to see you back Aspen ! Great video . I have been mindful on spending my money for past few months. It holds true in other aspects too not just for books. Waiting for your oct and Nov wrap up 😊
I usually only buy physical copies of books I've read on my kindle or gotten from the library and know it's something I'll reread. It helps me save and not have a bunch of books I hate or will never read.
I just re-did my shelves too and decided to get them all into a database with tags so as I am doing some challenges next year I can pull off of my shelves as they were so out of control. We have a cute used bookstore down the road and so I am always stopping by and coming back with handfuls of great books. Next year I am focusing on reading more of them than I buy.
Great to see you back Aspen! 💕 I'm trying to cut down on book buying too. I hope to do better in 2025. Patiently waiting for more new release library 📚, less buying.
I totally understand.. There is something addictive about buying books. I have always used a nook. Now I have a tablet with both the Kindle and nook apps.. With the nook app I can do a wishlist and I can check every day and sort by price and see if the ebook goes on sale. I get many books this way.. Like less than 5.00 a book. I RARELY pay full price for a book. I just can't do it lol. So I shop book outlet and thrift books a lot too
I am really trying to check out books from the library first and then if i like the book then get it from PangoBooks, half priced books, or an independent bookstore! I got like a tiny tiny little bookshelf for my unread books that fits like max 45 books so my tbr is capped at that! Also love the shelf, it looks so gorgeous!
love this! i am moving for the first ever time in my life from my childhood home to an apartment with my husband. I went through my shelves of hundreds and hundreds of books and unhauled probably half of them because i am in a smaller space with minimal shelves. and as i was unhauling i just kept wondering why i kept books i didnt care about or didnt feel emotional connection to for so long.

Yes, I'm so excited for another Aspen video !!! ❤ I also really agree with your take at the beginning on over consumption and spending!
Great to see you again ! I love going to the library…. Saves a lot of money!

missed you!! 💗💗
i have my books separated by read and unread. my general rule is that my tbr can only take up two rows and that works for me 😂 i’m happy you’re back!!
that seems like a great rule! ☺️
