I found a bumblebee sprawled out on the floor on my doorstep and assumed it might be dead. It was still moving so I thought maybe it was just exhausted or thirsty so I went and got some water with a bit of sugar dissolved in. Placed the little bit of water near it on a plastic lid and I think I ended up spooking it. It flew off without any troubles. Turns out it was just taking a break and the white doorstep was probably a nice cool place for it to do so.

She was especially interested in the couch and the cracks betwixt the cushions. She appeared to be seeking a nesting site. After investing the crack in the couch, she came out with a "nope" in her manner- I swear you could see it. The amazing thing was to see her mapping out the room. She was literately carrying a 3D map of my bedroom in her brain. It was amazing to see. Finally, she approached the bed I was sitting upright in. That was bad news for the both of us- I had no desire to get stung and she did not deserve to die because I left the window open. So I grabbed an empty water bottle and gently tapped her in mid air with it as she approached my personal space. She got the message and there was no harm and no foul. With that, she landed back on the couch and decided to rest a bit. After a moment, she took to the air- and knew EXACTLY where the window was. She simply flew out it like she lived here- the map in her head was that good. Amazing creatures- and fun to watch.

Got visited yesterday by a bumble bee in the house. She came in through an unscreened window in my bedroom. I watched her fly about, in that "heavily laden" manner that bumble bees have.
I'm not much of a bee guy but bumblebees are really something else. They are very peaceful

I’ve never seen a hive for these big fuzzy cuties. It must be huge
Bumblebee nests contain far fewer bees (usually up to 400) than honey bee hives (usually around 50,000)!
