My favorite part of this run was the maniacal laughter in the room. I caught myself just waiting for it every time he did a super hard jump.

This game is nothing compared to the other kaizo games played at these events.
I find it a bit amusing to see Mitch play something else for once. He`s always just playing SMB3 constantly, over and over and over, so he plays it to perfection, seeing as it`s very easy, but to see him struggling with a game with a moderate level of difficulty was a bit fun for the sadistic side in me.

tbh, if you're a speedrunner, SMB1 would be pretty fucking hard to do well in front an audience to get a time like 4:56 or 4:57 what with the sheer amount of frame perfect inputs

Adam Hodges yup and by sgdq they added real stomping action to the cgi legs used perfectly in the stomp to win strat.
Shroomie it was a distraction by the deep state. Poo had nothing to do with it in fact.
That boot thing blew my mind. To think there are so many secrets in games I never knew even though I played them for years as a kid.

These are always great. Poo commentating anywhere makes the experience that much more entertaining, and Mitch's gameplay is just godly, regardless of the mistakes.
easily the best speedrun ive ever seen, watching somebody dismantle a game thats supposed to be dismantling YOU, and getting to appreciate the hilarious/brilliant level design without actually being subjected to it...
Clearly this game was the inspiration for Mario Maker.
part of the reason for mario maker was to stop rom hacks tho it actually increase their popularity
Did it actually? I see the appeal of creating your own hack as you can add whatever, but I've seen a lot of hackers move from roms to MM.

There will probably be a sharp decline in the number of low quality hacks. But those who have a clear goal that Mario Maker can't achieve, involving custom tiles or enemies or whatever, will have to stick to romhacks. While those who would just play around in Lunar Magic or somesuch (Like I used to as a kid), will move on to the far easier to use Mario Maker.

So many things I never knew you could do, like the pausing the game to get the munchers to go down, and the tankooki suit to kill the head crush thingys. GREAT RUN THE AUDIENCE WAS AMAZED!

Some of the most well planned out platforming I have ever seen. Right on.
That was so fun, and really impressive. I really clapped at the end. And I can't overstate how much I appreciate the commentator. I only have the vaguest understanding of how Super Mario Bros. 3 mechanics work, so I would've been completely lost without that guy explaining what was going on and why Mitch was doing certain things. He explained things well and quickly, and didn't talk too much. Props.

I love that despite being the best player in the world Mitch is still just humble guy trying to have a good time. He just wants to share the game he enjoys with the world. Truly an inspiration to us all.
I watched Mitch play this through on his first play through. it was so cool. this was a amazing run for agdq.
This one looks like an actual game unlike the other kaizos. IMO
I loved how various power ups and items were creatively used in this hack.

That 3rd castle leve was insane. They put ice blocks on a level which required exact motion and positioning. Insane. But Mitch managed to speed thru it regardless. Mad skills! :)
