    I only buy/sell clothes that are my size and style. I'm 5'9 and a size 14. Tall, curvy girls have a tough time finding clothes...so my stuff moves pretty fast because I have a tall, curvy, curated closet 🙌🏽

      I'm 5'10" and have a hard time finding footwear in womens, no large sizes for long feet, so have to revert to wearing some men's shoe's and boots, but I'm used to it. :)

    I've only had bad ratings twice and both times were from users with no listings who didn't read the description and/or look at the photos. You're failure to pay attention doesn't mean I don't deserve 5 stars! I package nicely, even use bubble wrap on cheap jewelry, and ship same or next day. It's so frustrating. 😡

      I have experienced the same thing. Most of my customers have been fantastic but every now and then you get a problem person. I primarily deal with eBay and unfortunately they side with the buyer on everything, even when the buyer is clearly in the wrong.

    Yes to each and every single point you’ve made, ESPECIALLY with low pricing! The highest item I’ve ever sold was for $55 (which was very near to what it was worth). Every other item has averaged between $7-$30 roughly in profit and it’s so annoying but it’s honestly on me for not being firm.
    I really don’t like seeing my items sit around but I do get discouraged when practically so many sellers are reselling for dirt cheap, which makes a reasonable deal seem “unfair”.
    It’s definitely time I: a) Source and re-list more higher end brands and b) Remain firm in my decision (only budging when reasonable and not at my own expense and time).
    Thank you so much!!

    I don't drop my prices but I do regularly run bundle sales. My issue with poshmark is that users forget that poshmark takes a percentage and then low ball me on items that I've already listed at 50% off the retail, especially brand new with tags. There are definitely peaks and valleys on poshmark and I've made some money, but I have put a lot more effort into it than I was originally expecting.

      Brenda Thomas I don’t pay much for my items. I cap off at around $4 or $5. That way I feel comfortable selling things so inexpensive. If my mark up was too high, I’d be hesitant to drop prices. I go to one place and get items there. I also am picky about the condition of the item.

    This was a great video! I have tried price dropping with no success. Right now I have some items in my closet which I plan on relisting at a higher price. I also have a few items which I am not proud of. They are in excellent condition, but not my style. I as you, have them at the bottom. I just started listing on eBay so I think I will put them on there. I always take a picture of the brand/size tag & the fabric content tag. I also list the measurements. The only question I get is “ is this true to size”. Lastly I am a firm believer that there is something for everyone. I don’t mind having items in my closet for a long time. The right person will come along.

    I really hate how Poshmark does their shipping I really think it discourages customers from buying a flat rate of 6.95 is a lot especially if the item is less than the shipping or weights 3oz normally cost the buyer less than three dollars to ship. Its only worth it if a customer buys 6 pounds to ship.

      As much as i love the easy use of PM, that company is absolutely disgusting when it comes to greediness. Their making so much money with the 20% fee as it is PLUS they’re making so much money with the shipping. A lightweight shirt costs around or under $5 to ship. PM is pocketing that extra $1.80. I have always been a person who follows trends…I am building a curated closet so I’ll be listing a lot in the next few weeks..... I started part time with just accessories to figure out how PoshMark worked and I already made posh ambassador so I just ordered my lighting, etc. to really set up a professional office...Going full time this month On posh Mark and other platforms as well…
    The way I started figuring out what I wanted to curate was sharing… I would share as if it were my closet and there are many closets I can’t find one single thing I want to share sometimes I pass on the closet for that reason… But it really helped me hone it on my style… Now I buy only those type of things because it’s something I’m excited about!
    The exception to that is something I know is fine quality... I figure whoever will buy that will find it in the brand search…
    I have discovered the same thing almost all of what I am selling are things that I really want to curate and things I picked up just because they’re on trend does’nt sell as well....
    After analyzing my sales I realize I have a specific buyer.... my main customer is in New York City and LA
    I am originally from big city I don’t know if that has my thing to do with it…But I do like things with edgy detail...

I don't know what the key to success is. I seriously am about to give up & give everything away. Thanks for the video honeyrags, maybe things will get better for me soon.

    Compare PM to eBay what one you like more? Because eBay you set the actual shipping cost. Iv had made the mistake of having the shipping to low, and made so little so that was 5 years ago and got competitive ha ha

    I agree about the Posh Ambassador thing! I'd rather have people follow me who genuinely like the style I have curated in my closet ! I also have found that some new users make the worst customers... NOT ALWAYS, but often lowball offers come from customers very new to PM. Loved your vid and just found you on Poshmark!

    Now I understand what those people at the thrift stores are up to, the ones with big shopping carts full of stuff.
    I have a pile of items that I would think there has to be buyers out there that know what they are worth - that’s how I shop. I wanted a certain pair of jeans or Frye boots, and I looked on Poshmark to see if anyone had them. I don’t go there and browse looking for stuff to buy, I go there already knowing what I want. Fit is always an issue, especially in pants...if I want jeans, my local thrift store has a mile long rack, where I often see high end brands - and I can try them on. ( problem is, thrift stores are getting more pricey...I picture them going thru bags of donations in the back room, then looking things up online, hence the $25 and higher prices on some of the jeans ) What I want to sell is higher end stuff, vintage Levi’s, Via Spiga boots, suede jackets, and bags, my own things that no longer fit or interest me. It seems like too much trouble to sell something for $8, or even $20. I will price my stuff fairly, and eventually the right person will come along.

    Idk if it’s only me but I’m scared to start this like what if a package gets lost and the buyer gets mad over it or if they have to wait forever and they leave bad reviews and no one buys ahhhh idk 😫

    • @LVGirl4
      @LVGirl4 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aj 80210 Here’s the thing - Poshmark gives you a pre-printed shipping label & they track it because it has a tracking number. So if it gets lost after you’ve shipped it, if the buyer doesn’t get it Poshmark pays BOTH of you. I know this because it has happened to me couple of times. I’ve been selling on Poshmark for 5 years. But because of the tracking number things almost never get lost.

    quick question ... is there a way to share your entire closet on PM without having to click on each individual item? I wish I could just select all and then hit share. Would be so much easier. But maybe there is a way and I just don't knowhow??

      I was scrolling through the comments and I happen to know the answer (I'm new to PM so I'm still learning). From what I understand, there isn't a way to do that, however, they say it's 3-4 times faster doing it from a desktop.

    On peoples closets, you sometimes see what I call a break up box. A pretty picture with pictures and writing on it not things for sale. Where do we get those?

    • @gailkoch-ashing9951
      @gailkoch-ashing9951 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You create them this way:
      1. New listing
      2. Add photos that are stored in your phone or on your computer.
      3. Go to the bottom of the listing and click on item not for sale.
      4. Add any description or add story in description box.
      5. Save listing
      Hope this helps!

      I realize your comment is 10 months old, but I can offer this, if you live in a city with several Goodwills, check them all. In my area they all have their own flavor. My neighborhood (a little on the rough side) has ok stuff at kinda high prices. I drive to the better part of town and find amazing deals on higher end items in better condition. I make the drive to treat myself. We also have a Goodwill Outlet (where you dig through big bins and pay by the pound) I love it, but a lot of people are turned off by them. I haven’t gone there since Covid hit because people get territorial over the bins and I don’t trust them to social distance.

    lol AMEN TO THE AMBASSADOR PROGRAM TIMESUCK! I 100% did the same thing you described doing and ended up spending WAAAY too much time sharing other people's items only to realize weeks or months later that Poshmark sales are largely driven by specific item or brand name searches - almost no one is spending their money (or their time...) on items shared to their "feed" / timeline. Thinking about the amount of time I wasted on the whole Ambassador process when I should've been posting original, quality listings, it makes me a little sick to my stomach. 🤮 Oh well, live and learn, right? Anyway, thanks for posting such a great, relatable video! This is the first one of yours I'm watching and it inspired me to subscribe immediately! 🌟

    Not sure if this question has been asked (I did not scroll all the way down)...what is "comps" (or at least that's what it sounds like)?

    • @mle011
      @mle011 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "comps" is comparable items that have sold. So if you are listing a mint green NWT Rebecca Minkoff "mini mac" bag, you'd check what those bags have sold for before. Sometimes checking that specific color, or just that style, whether it is NWT or used, etc. Can give you a realistic range for what the item is actually selling for.
