    Great video! I've been selling on Posh for over 5 years and definitely agree with your tips. The feed feature is useless... the feed needs to be able to be curated to the buyer, by the buyer (at one point or another, we're all buyers, even if it's sourcing on Posh). I think there would be so many more sales if people could "favorite" closets, and have those closets appear on their feed every time they log in.

    • @MogiBeth
      @MogiBeth  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      100% !!! Idk why the favorites feature hasn't been included. One of my guesses is that Poshmark wants you to spend more time on the app by searching and discovering rather than making it convenient to be in & out. But I'm not sure 🤷‍♀️

      Yes. But you can also share an item to your other social media sites (if you’re on them) like FB, TW, IG, TH-cam. In settings go to your closet seller tools. Add your site, then turn to it ON to green. Then each time you share your indivisible items it will pop up and if your ok with it push SHARE. If not, turn green OFF, and it will just share to your follower on PM.
      Hope that helps !

    I've personally mainly made sales by following! When people come to my closet to follow back they see an item they like and typically buy/offer right away or bundle. Users typically skim through a closet since they're on the page already and something may have caught their eye. That's just what has worked for me though!

    I am so glad I watched this video! Especially since a lot of the advice you give on what NOT to do is often touted by others as things TO DO. I am extremely new to PM, so hearing from successful sellers about things to watch out for is incredibly important. I don't want to make this into a business, just want to get rid of some stuff, but I'm so grateful I don't have to waste my time regardless!

  • @lifeofmim
    @lifeofmim 4 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    I agree with the part regarding the amount of followers. Every single time I made a sale and I check to see if it’s one of my follower/following , it’s always a new person that’s not a follower. After I notice that consistency I stopped the following. Because I would spend a lot of time doing that when I could have been sharing or listing.

    This was extremely helpful. Thank you so much!!! I always wait to send an offer because I don't want to seem "needy" but WOW was I not reading that correctly. • @MS-vk2zv
    @MS-vk2zv 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I get way more traffic if I share other people's items. The point is to get people with lots of followers to share back. That way you'll get way more exposure than when you only share to your own followers. You can see in their closets if they share a lot or not and if they're worth interacting with or not.

    I always appreciate tips for Poshmark. That being said-I have to say that 99% of the things I personally purchase come from things I’ve seen on my feed or from going to someones closet to follow them or to reciprocate a share. Very rarely do I search for anything specific, especially clothing.

    I totally agree with you! I think a lot of users are caught up on being a poshmark ambassador and that's why they share other people's closets (at least until they reach the minimum). However I sell on both US and Canadian platforms, one where I'm an ambassador and the other where I am not. The only thing that I have gained with being an ambassador is followers! It has not increased my sales at ALL.

    • @MogiBeth
      @MogiBeth  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      YESSS. The one benefit I have heard is useful from Ambassador status is that after gaining it, you can mark comments as spam and they will disappear. But since I had already completed all the requirements when they rolled out the program, I'm not sure if that's true!

    🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 spot on! I hope this helps a lot of people, I learned this through trial and error lol. I do relist a lot but that’s because I have a smaller closet and I also don’t get inventory as often. Some additional benefits I see is it’s so much quicker to relist than it is to list something new so if you’re trying to do it daily it helps with that practice. Also it gets rid of what I call “stale likes”. People who I’ve sent my lowest possible offer to and they still haven’t purchased, probably don’t want the item. I consistently get new likes and interest on items right when I relist.

    • @MogiBeth
      @MogiBeth  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great point! Some people like things without the intention to ever buy, relisting can be a way to "refresh" likes so you're not wasting time sending offers to people who are not interested.

I instantly became overwhelmed with a ton of follows and shares. I was like how on earth can I keep up with this. I spent the night trying to follow everyone back. • @waleskaalvarez8520
    @waleskaalvarez8520 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Thank you so much for these tips. I’ve only been doing this about 3 weeks now and have made 20 sales on PM and 5 on Mercari. I initially started by waiting a day to make offers but I quickly realized that like myself once I’m done sharing on the app I close it. People do the same because they use it as a pass time and because the feed is MESSY and honestly not new user friendly. So one tip I wanted to share and it’s worked for me is instead of sending private offers to likers I send them an offer by styling them in a bundle this allows me to not be forced into choosing a shipping discount for the item and it really has worked for me my last 7 sales. Being forced to choose a shipping discount and offer a decent price is a little annoying to me so I found this form of offers very useful. Late if I chose to lower the price on the item likers will be notified either email, notification or when they use the app next time. ..... thanks again for the tips I will definitely be going in my closet to adjust some prices.

    Listing everyday on any platform is super important.. but DEF LIST THE RIGHT THINGS... You can be listing $10 items all day and it won't matter if someone else is listing $50 items and moving them out.. 5 to 1

    I used to believe what you are saying too. However I listed an item and then went to look for it through search. It was way down the feed and next to a similar item that had not been shared for 1 year.

  • @r4tgl
    @r4tgl 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I only share an item of someone elses if they share mine first. Sort of like a reciprocal thanks. But I'm new and have 7 items so I have the time to do so. People have come back after I shared though and reshared the rest of my items after so it probably doesn't matter but people do notice. Thanks for all your tips!!

    I have thought for so long there is no benefit to sharing other people's closets. Happy to know it's ok to not do that because it does waste your time. I did think it was important to follow people though so I've definitely wasted WAY too much time following others in hopes to get more followers. Why? I don't know.. thinking they would purchase something from me I guess but do I purchase from people I follow? Nope! I purchase through the search. Lesson learned. Great content!

No sale yet, but likes lead to sales. Thank you so much also for the 50 brands guide. I had never heard of any of those brands before.

    I am only half way through this video, but I have to ask this question before I forget. What about parties and getting them chosen as host picks? Is this worthy? I've gotten picked before and tons of shares from it, but no sales... It takes a lot of effort to reach out to hosts to check your closet out and sometimes no one acknowledges you - so JUST WONDERING. :)

    Such an awesome video! The last tip especially is new to me, and I’m excited to start implementing it. Thanks so much! Regarding tip 2, I never community share (because like you said, it makes no sense) with one exception! Every so often, I get an email from Posh saying that I’m invited to co-host a party, but that I haven’t done my 150 community shares over the last 30 days. I’m sure party hosting is about as helpful as helpful as community sharing haha, but I always feel a little guilty so I go on a quick sharing spree and then get an email asking me to be a party co-host within a couple days. Again, I’m sure it’s a big ole waste of time, but I think it’s a fun way to engage in the social aspect of Poshmark!
