The only reason I pick Erika's path every time is because Joshua and Cormag are my favorite characters and this is the path that gives them good characters development
I don't know. I really liked the Caellach and Joshua conversation in Ephraim's path more. It has this mutual understanding more than just the enemy being pissy. It frames the battlefield in a much more somber light of fighting for your side, putting side any personal connections, not just good vs bad.
I like how Joshua keeps his gentle smile through this conversation. Something about that detail (which isn't just spawned from sprite portrait limitation because Caellach notes he has a smirk in dialogue) makes him charming.
I never realized how friendly Caellach and Joshua were until now. I feel bad kinda bad for killing Caellach now... But here's the thing, I'll never feel bad for killing anybody more than Lyon. Lyon deserved so much better.
Well, if it makes you feel any better, in Heroes we know that the Lyon that you get with Grials is a Lyon that was summoned after Fomortiis was defeated, so he is still chilling om Askr.

Well, he was a mercenary as in a sword-for-hire, so to speak. Joshua's was a mercenary too and he's a myrmidon. Same goes for Marissa. Shanna, Wade, Lot, Jerrot, Treck, and Noah were all mercenaries in FE6, and they were Pegasus Knights, Fighters, and Cavaliers. The mercenary occupation and mercenary class are not always aligned.
From a class point of view he was probs a mercenary, since it makes more sense, plus fighters = warriors usually, and mercenary = heros, but from a job point of view any class could be a mercenary if the story made them that way

Swordreaver/swordslayer had to be the one who killed her. You know how those weapons worked. It makes no sense when a queen, whose a swordmaster class lost to a literal axe (except those two)
That means nothing. What matters is growth rates and class caps. Ross, for example has high Strength growth and access to Warrior/Berserker classes, so he can feasibly hit 30 Strength, something many units cannot do. However, his Speed and Skill growths are low, so he's unlikely to reach even 20 in either stat at max level, while other units easily hit that. Amelia, on average is weaker than every other horse unit at max level. Lute's stronger growths and caps make her always superior to Ewan.
unless you do so many save states to get ross over 20 speed... that's what I did... after the end game, I farm those body runes until max because you know... axes weights them down so much
@17Master I keep looking at Geriks Growths to figure out why he is always so good, but they aren't broken. For whatever reason my gerik always ends up with the most defense on my team. (More than gilliam and duessel) I have no idea if I just always get lucky but Gerik always becomes busted for me. I'm actually playing this game again and my Ross has 17 speed at only lvl 4 of being a berserker, Ross always seems to be one of my 3 most Broken units. (No speedwings btw)
Audhulma was probably a good choice, due to the Hoplon Guard. After all, Joshua isn't that good with regular attacks, since the perk of having a Sword Master is the +15 crit chance. Take that away... and he's not TERRIBLE, but he's not great either, so using Audhulma, with it's great attack power was a good move.
He also mentioned always being better than Joshua,despite using an axe. Obviously he brought around a Swordreaver with him whenever he practiced with Joshua, and when he went to kill his mom figured she might be good with a sword too. Unfortunately for him, he used up the last of his Swordreaver during the fight with the Queen and didn't have time to go and grab another one before Joshua showed up.
You can use Rennac or Colm to steal Hoplon guard from him and use killing edge on him. That is how I easliy took down Linus in Cogs of Destiny from FE 7.

just wait a sec.the Trainee units in the game are without a doubt the strongest ifyoure a good enough strategist to keep them alive. Ross,Ewan,and Emilia will always have the highest stats because they are the only characters that start out at the minimum base level and can be leveled up to lvl 20 from basic lvl 1..

Pretty much, Eirika path gives other characters some screen time. Ephraim path is just Ephraim Sparta Spearing everything in his way until they die.

Yeah you can easily train them, another great unit is Gerik as a hero he'd be soloing almost everyone.

Stole away his Guard before fighting him. Used Tethys on Rennac then whisked her away with Gerik.
Caellach and Valter were great villains.
