Hey y’all, this is my first video with manual subtitles. They might be a bit scuffed since I’m pretty new to this but they should work well. I can’t promise them every time cause they take a while to make, but more accessibility/understandability seems good so whenever I can have them I will.
Funny thing is Indeedee F isn't supposed to get trick room, only being an exclusive male form move. What happened was during a raid event, you could catch F form with trick room. They ended up patching the game so now Indeedee F could get trick room normally.
Slight correction, it wasn't an event, it was a glitch in regular raids. It was why 5* Indeedee-F raids were just as, if not more, sought after than things like Normal-Tera Dragonite during the first couple of months of S&V, and that was before it was confirmed to be legal in VGC/online Doubles
It's actually really cool that they made both Indeedee forms good, just in different formats. Hoping one day the other adorable psychic type with gender differences that change how it plays gets the same treatment someday (Legends ZA plsssss 🙏)
A Meowstic evo with actual stats would be cool. Can't wait for them to take away Prankster from the Male Meowstic evo even though Grimmsnarl would be 200% better
i love that either indeedee is fantastic in one format and middling in another, and they're inversed from each other because their respective roles enjoy their stat difference. like tbh i did not even know indeedee-m has 95 base speed lmao
In VGC they effectively added each terrain one at a time first Psychic, then Grassy, then Electric. In singles each tier has its own terrain, Ubers has electric, OU has Grassy, and UU has Psychic. And nobody used misty because Neutralizing Gas and Levitate are just better abilities for Gweezing

It kinda seems to me like some dumb field effect is the only real consistent way to make otherwise trash monsters more usable. Think about it. Politoed had more going for it while Pelipper was trash until Pelipper got similar privileges. Psychic Surge and Trick Room in this case seems to be another example of that.
@@Dakress23 And reliable recovery in the form of Roost. I think that's something that really hurts Politoed. If it had Slack Off, I think you could make the argument that dropping the Stealth Rocks weakness, 4x weakness to Electric down to a 2x, and gaining a higher HP and SpD stat would warrant it as a perfectly valid alternative rather than a 'It has Drizzle and I'm on a Rain team so I'm putting Specs on it because Pelipper is better to pivot.' Oh, shit, I just realized Pelipper *also* has U-turn which Politoed lacks too. So on top of the fact that it has reliable recovery, it also has a slower speed stat and access to a pivot move. Honestly, it had a whole lot of tools it was just lacking the thing to really set it over the edge with Drizzle... I say we should give Politoed Flip Turn and Slack Off and see what happens.
It’s funny that Indeedee-F did have Expanding Force in Gen 8 but she was just too OP I guess so they took it off her (while buffing Incineroar to high heaven)
Hear me out, next presentation idea: Armorouge and Ceruledge. Idk what you could make out of that but those are two of my fav new homies and I’m dying to see what you could come up with for a powerpoint
it would be cool if the best utility mons in singles OU didnt have their primary use cases be "does something other than kill fellas AND can pivot while doing it." tusk brings such a healthy presence as a mon that has utility and isnt carried by a momentum move. i find that in metas where tapu lele was around her lack of a pivot in conjunction with the terrain setting made playing with her feel so much cooler.
you forgot about when i made rank 1 in vgc cart ladder with life orb indeedee male because psyshock can 1-shot flutter mane and does really well into the reg D meta at the time lmao
Indeedee-F+Armarouge was my team setup in early VGC Formats. It really can't be understated how much damage that setup can do even to Pokemon that resist it. Your best bet would be to just hard wall it with a Dark type or something but Armarouge also gets Aura Sphere so it's not a perfect solution.
My favourite team to run in doubles is indeedee female with Hatterene, indeedee has max hp and def with psychic seed item, and runs follow me as well as helping hand and hatterene runs max spa with a speed lowering nature with trick room, expanding force, dazzling gleam. Also i have a shiny of both which is why I like running it XD

i would actually argue that amoongus fell off hard as far as support goes. everything is running tera grass, safety goggles exists, and in the current format miraidon is running rampant making spore essentially useless.
I have been rekt-ing people with Choice Scarf Indeede with Psychic Surge ability and Expanding force and Trick movesets as a way to Anti Lead, sometimes switching Scarf for Specs. All in OU gen9 And made a team about it

Politoed had more going for it while Pelipper was trash until Pelipper got similar privileges.
Psychic Surge and Trick Room in this case seems to be another example of that.
Pelipper does have more synergy with rain over Politoed thanks to access to Stab Hurricane though.
