Yes. She had an untimely death! We were all shocked. Minnie had breast cancer, and given 6 months to live. She never disclosed the death sentence, kept making music, became a spokesperson for breast cancer awareness. Minnie Riperton lived another 3 years, outliving the drs. prediction. Her music is timeless and she was flawless🖤❤️

It's progressive, aggressive, jazzy and the most beautiful song of its kind that I can remember, plus the guitar is killer. In the middle, she holds a note for longer than I think I've ever heard a person do, and towards the end, she literally sounds like a seagull. I got sick this past winter but i could hit that high note cause i would sing this song in the shower but after being sick something happened to my voice and its not the same but my friend says its slowly coming back i really hope it does but never the less i will never be that good just awsome!!!

Nice review! The birds were actually intentional, according to her husband, Richard. He, Minnie and Stevie went to a bird sanctuary in LA with a tape recorder to get natural bird sounds to put on the recording.

This was a great video presentation on the technique she is drawing from.My mother knew her from the music scene in Chicago,and said what a beautiful soul she was!
