Yes , you can use mouse toggle it works perfectly and thank you for your comment. I’m glad you liked the video While mouse toggle works perfectly with Exposed and Magisk I’ll need to check if it works within TWRP which I doubt because it’s installed within the FireOS
I haven’t tried the new version. I’m back to work now so all of those days with nothing to do are gone. I wish I still had all that free time I enjoyed this video.
I've done everything all rooted, odd things is the leanlauncher worked, then rebooted it went back to normal amazon layout, exposed shows installed, but no "open" options. bit puzzled
I used a HDMU extension cable like the one that comes with the Firestick except mine is 3 feet in length . Connect the stick to your tv via this long cable and then for power and communication connect the usb cable To your laptop. If you don’t have a laptop you could use a small tv and set it beside your desktop or a monitor that accepts HDMI
Thanks for your contributions and tutorials. good video. I just want to know how you could root. Please can you make a video tutorial on how to root AFStick Thank you, we would appreciate it many people.
Thank you Marco. I’m back to work now. They have us working 12 hour days and I rarely get a day off and when I do I have been working on remodeling my home. I had plenty of free time when I made this video Because of COVID19 but now I’m back to work. If I had all the free time I did in April and May I would certainly do it. There is a video on that but it sort of hard to follow.
Hello, can you please give link for the vendor image 6.2.6.8? On your Google drive I can't found it. Thank you in advance. Kenny Man yes follow the instructions on XDA. They have 2 different tutorials For rooting. They’re the same but one of the tutorials goes into more detail. Roll aluminum foil into a point and gently stick it between the metal bracket and the point you need to short. When the software detects the short pull it out firmly because if your gentle removing it you’ll make and break contact and have to start all over
Kenny Man you can do which ever you want. I used a usb stick and on boot up I choose the option to run it from Ram. I ran it from ran only because my pc began to randomly restart so I thought it was due to my usb stick being old and wore out. I could have put the image on another usb stick but it made it much more convenient to restart and load it into ran which worked great.
can you do a video on how to root the fire stick 4k? i already disassembled the 4k in preparation to root but i haven't rooted phones in a long time and need a super newbie guide including where to download adb etc... please help! thanks!
Follow this link for a guide on rooting it. I have done this and in order to make a video i would have to root and capture the computer and root another and capture the TV. This guide has a video showing you how to short the board with foil, it's odd i did the exact same thing without seeing the video until afterwards. . I don't have another stick that i can root to make a video.I've got my Launcher customized now to my liking and don't want to start all over so i'm sorry. forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/orig-development/newbie-guide-how-to-unlock-bootloader-t4015273
As long as your able to root your stick then yes , it will work with any version once rooted. Worst case scenario you root your stick and have to downgrade your FireOS to an older version via one of Rbox’s prerooted images.
how are you using the mouse in this setup? trying to find the right setup before i root the stick. Also, any chance you made a video of how you rooted the stick? thanks
I used an OTG cable and plugged in the transmitter that comes with a wireless keyboard and mouse. www.amazon.com/TV-xStream-Adapter-Micro-Cable/dp/B07XLP5DJB Sorry I didn’t make a video on rooting because I wasn’t sure if youtube would have an issue with it Or not. Once you do one you’ll be A pro.
Bryant Fountain no you don’t need to cut it open. It’s snapped closed. You can open it in a minute. I did a search on TH-cam for you. m.th-cam.com/video/h4I6ifBLWJ4/w-d-xo.html
There was a video on TH-cam for that but it was very long and difficult to follow so I followed a tutorial. I believe the link to the tutorial is in the description. I didn’t make my own .
Hua Wang that’s normal. To access TWRP connect an OTG ( on the go ) Cable and your wireless mouse/keyboard . You will have about 8 seconds to hit cancel after connecting everything and restarting to stay in TWRP. I hope this is why your not seeing TWRP. I talk about this in the video at around 3 minutes & 10 seconds into the video
It’s sounds like your stuck in the settings if that’s what you mean by configuration. I was stuck in the settings and did a factory reset and I never lost root. Then I reinstalled everything and was fine. I was running version 6.2.6.8 on FireOS. You can recover from anything on the FireTV 4K . Worst case you would just need to root it again if for example you were ever stuck in a bootloop . You would also have to write one of rbox’s prerooted images to the stick if you ever get stuck in a boot loop
David Herron I meant amazon deactivated my firestick 4K and the told me to disposal it because the refunded me. I am trying to use any android os on it. I can run trwp on it.
MrMo7arb I’m surprised they would do that. I’ve read where someone cloned a rooted stick via TWRP using the backup feature and checking every box and wrote that image to another stick. You can try that .If your successful with the clone u would have a different MAC address thus bypassing whatever Amazon did. If you can find an OS from another streaming device thats under 8GB I don’t see why you couldn’t write it to the stick. I might try that myself
MrMo7arb you can do a search on the Xda developer forums and message the guy that cloned his stick to confirm it since it’s going to take some time. I’ve used software to change my MAC address on my pc in the past. Not 100% sure if the MAC is stored within the ROM or firmware mechanism where it often is stored
Works for the non 4k Fire Stick?

if i do this in the latest update for fire stick, the stick will lost his features? like the netflix drm and the amazon compatibility?
