Love your work Ben and your DJI FPV was epic, but no way! The Phantom 4 is still sitting with a 1" sensor when I need M4/3 for low light, competition makes companies bring out better technology imho :)
Maybe with the new Insta360 One R though. You can have a 360° 5.7K Camera and a 1" Sensor at 5.3K 27FPS simultaneously recording. It's just so sick to talk about!
Well, you could pretty much say that they WERE married, but then DJI decided to divorce GoPro.
Up to the DJI Phantom 2 drone there was no built-in camera, but you rather bought them separately and combined them.
So you would have e.g. a GoPro Hero 3 or GoPro Hero 4 hanging under your DJI Phantom drone.
But then DJI decided to pull the rug from under GoPro's feet and not offer them the option to go up in the air anymore, with the DJI Phantom 3 coming with its own fixed camera and no option to remove it.
GoPro tried to put their cameras up in the air with the GoPro Karma drone (took the GoPro Heros 5, 6 and 7), but it never really caught on or caught up with how fast DJI was developing its products.
So maybe it was smarter for GoPro to just continue to improve their cameras and maybe one day (like now) piggyback on somebody else's drone to once again soar up in the air...

Works great on our GP8 with the fpv drone. Just avoid the magnetic nds, they can fall off.

Nice! I have the DJI FPV and a 5" freestyle and a Shendrones Squirt.
Those drone footage looks real blurry with all the trees. But the cityscapes and bridge shots look crisp.

Yes the little wings and gimbal cover are great.
But the real downside is that the gopro mount is on top of the gps chip and you'll lose signal whenever you press record on your gopro.
Even if the gopro hasn't got any wireless connection on!

They should put a camera on the headset so that you can switch from drone view to view what’s right in front of you. Say you pause the drone and switch views you could move without running into anything lol

You can still pause the drone and just pick up your headset... no need to a switch.
I wish it had a tiny Picture in Picture type of feature so that I could see if anyone was coming up on me when flying solo. Currently I swoop down periodically to make sure no one is going to mug me 😝
@@GuysontheGrid when you fly fpv is good to fly with someone else who can spot and inform you of anything.
@@jorgeluquas yeah I typically do and I know that’s a requirement but living alone it’s not always easy to bring someone along.

If I were you I would also consider a normal fpv drone. You can put whatever camera you want on it, it’s smaller, stronger and in case of a crash you just have to change that part and not the whole drone.
@@jorgeluquas I like the small one potato jet used in his video showing it round a house! I don’t want super speed just slow moving and hold a GoPro! I have a mini 2 which is perfect for travelling with! The DJI fpv is way to big to travel with in my opinion

Recently got a Cinewhoop and this would be a fun addition when I'm not as worried about crashing into someone and want better flight time and maneuverability. Plus, until DJI ports all the flying modes to the air unit, it looks way more pleasant to fly when you don't need to pull off freestyle moves.
you think they will do that, port all the modes? would definitely hurt their drone sales a lot, so i don’t see that anytime soon
@@chico3517 Considering they still refuse to let people adjust the sharping on the Osmo Action after hoards of people (Including Philip Bloom) have asked for it as a feature? I'm pretty sure I'll be waiting a while for that to happen.

I have my old Hero 3 Black+ sitting in the closet, 3 or 4 years ago it stopped powering on. Seeing this video inspired me, I went into the closet and dug around. Found the bastard and was just hoping it would, and it turned on after plugging it in! son of abitch I swear i tried for weeks when it first died to revive her. So now im 3d printing the mount and hoping it all goes well! The lack of real-steady might make it terrible tho, we shall see!

Attach one of those GoPro mount pieces that lets you extend the mount and bring the camera forward with one of those. I hope this makes sense to you, haha. Terrible at explaining but just build it like a lego toy. I bet you have those extenders lying around somewhere. Greetings from Finland!

I’m going to try and attach my GoPro max 360 to my Dji fpv.
I got the new DJI FPV, crashed it (see video on my channel, cliped a power line) got it repaired and plesantly surprised the repair was only $110 bucks so that was good. It may be better looking on your monitor but watching after youtube it not that much better. oh and YES flying this in sport mode is so MUCH FUN! I flown a plane and this is more fun well except when I was younger and got to go up with the Blue Angels!
