In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

If I'm catching on to the pattern... in showing the results for points, they would have revealed the 'secret copy' if it was available.
@@hermanphilips4617 Nah. They keep a lot to use later when it is not found. Podcast reveals some but not all.

Or for that jacket in particular, they directly stated the solution was hidden in there but they chose to not reveal that on the show?
Also I felt like that black pattern, that emerged on top of the task when the fire reached a certain heigth, might have been a giveaway to some spot that could be helpful

It's been repeated in other countries, though! The (French) Canadian version of this task is really funny!

They don't repeat any tasks, do they? Besides, the fun is lost if the contestants are already aware that there's an alphabetical element.
@TPH250290 every task has a trick to it so you could do a different trick years later (secret list hidden in one of the items would be a good one, especially if a tall gets you to open it up).
@@TPH250290The only task that has ever been repeated word for word was ‘buy the Taskmaster a gift’ and that was (sadly) dropped after series 3.

I would argue that Sarah should’ve been given points for attacking the biscuit and yanking the zebra, Lee should’ve been given a point for chucking the dog, and both Lee and Mike should’ve been given a point for grabbing the hat.
Everybody should have gotten a point for jacket. They all looked at it, and therefore inspected it. The task didn't specify it had to be a good or thorough inspection. Though this wouldn't affect the outcome, I'm just being pedantic.

@@slimcourage901 I'd say the word "inspect" involves a thorough element. "Inspect" and "look at" are not synonyms.
And it does not change the results at all
It seemed to be the intention behind the action that counted, not so much doing it by accident.
My favourite part of this is that Sarah figures out the trick but misses one because she forgets the alphabet.

My first thought when i saw the fire was "start doing things from the bottom"
But then i guess panic sets in and inertia plus dozens of years of habit making them read from top to bottom made the task go off all according to plan
Alex also encouraged/told them to read out the whole task, then immediately set it on fire.
Yeah the fact that none of them went "oh shit there's a fire and a list of things I should read that before it disappears" is surprising to me. But yes panic definitely tests our instincts!
I would have quickly taken a photo so I had to remember less things (the smoke would have probably covered some of the bottom tasks)

If so, there would likely be a clip of Alex revealing it, so it's safe to say there wasn't. Also they already did that in the batter task in this series
@@iliketrains3495Do't be sure of that; Alex has said that he'll sometimes keep the "secret hacks" a secret if no one finds them, so he can use them again.
@@iliketrains3495 from my understanding they actually have hints in a lot of tasks and they don’t reveal a lot of them. I guess so they can use it again in a future task if they want to.
That vole is never going to be the same. Poor fella.
It's amazing how Lee just attacked everything, despite knowing it was only for the biscuit which he got right away, and it earned him 3rd place. xD
Sarah's reaction has got to be one of my favourite moments from across the entire Taskmaster series. 😂
What's crazy is that sarah was the only one to figure out the alphabet system and she came last

This was such a golden series. My favourite in an extremely high competition.

@@fredrik5827 That is so baffling to me. I don't understand why everyone raves about S13. It's my least favourite series, and by some margin, too. I don't get what I'm missing. Now, S14 on the other hand, is just fantastic.
@@EnoVarma Hmm, I really like the banter between the contestants, grew to rly like Chris, thought he would win but got shocked as Sophie did (and watching back some tasks she rly had some interesting approaches to tasks as well). Most tasks are very good imo (only one I don't think was especially good was the Fred the Swede one).
The episode where Judi almost wins is very fun.
14 is a great one too tho. For me all series are great entertainment tbh
@@EnoVarmato be honest I feel that way about series 14; there’s not many particularly weak aspects but I don’t think there’s that many strong aspects either. It seems to have reached fan favourite status mostly thanks to Fern who ended up being one of the most beloved contestants of all time, and Dara being arguably the most entertaining champion in quite a while helps, but I found the constant dominations by one person almost every episode got tiring quickly and hindered the competition aspect.
Also I can’t think of anything series 14 does better than 13; 13 had a few dud tasks such as the dramatic meeting and the infamous tongue one, but I feel like 14 has a lot more skippable ones.
@@iliketrains3495 So, my issue is really with S13 having become so popular; I wouldn't have a problem if people favoured other series over my favorites. And it's not that I think everyone else is wrong, I just don't understand why S13.
To me, John Kearns alone is more entertaining than the entire line-up of S13. To be frank, I found that line-up a bit dull - and, well, I can't stand Bridget Christie. But that's just me.
The thing is though, that S13 doesn't have a single task that comes even close to S14's trolley bowling, sabotage, word-guessing or toilet paper toss. IMO it's a worse series both writing-wise and performance-wise.
Anyway, it doesn't really matter, and sorry for ranting. That's being a nerd for you. Taskmaster is a fantastic show.
Everyone reading the task from the top down instead of the bottom, WHICH IS ON FIRE, up drives me crazy.

I love how after attacking Lee would kick them off the stage and attack something else, but he didn’t do it to the Lemon.
I know it's easy to say how it should have been done from an outsider's perspective, but I really believe, once I saw it burning from the bottom up, I would have started doing the tasks....from the bottom up. I definitely wouldn't have deciphered the code though, so kudos to anyone who could figure it out in the moment.
Mike was a of a gem. 50/50 on how worried I am about him being a doctor, he was probably a good enough one.
@@mynameorsutin Geriatrician was the one I've heard. I believe the whole thing about him not being a doctor is the actual joke, started by Alex IIRC. Mike is (or was) registered on the General Medical Council site, which means he was some kind of doctor at one point.
@@Elwaves2925 Little clarification, I'm certain he was a real doctor but my worry comes from his difficulty in finding a fart despite years of professional medical skills. His memory in this task is proof of medschool experience.
@@phitsf5475 It's all good, I wasn't doubting your belief. My reply was to the other person because they mentioned that him being a doctor was a long running joke. So I simply wanted to point out that he was a genuine doctor. 🙂
Mike's attempt is the one every Taskmaster fan probably remembers, but I also really like Sarah's.

The most effective element of this task design was to light the fire from the bottom. The fire put everyone on edge but it doesn't look like anyone, with the possible exception of Mike, thought to skip down to the bottom and start moving.
What stuck with me was : Undermine the Vole.

My favorite thing about this is... none of them thought to whip out their phone and take a picture. I don't blame them, but I find it funny.

I hope by now Jumali (sp?) has learnt that tap water is essentially the same as bottled water (which is tap water put in a bottle). I loved Mike and the mole. 😊
Bottled water is not the same as tap water in the UK, when they tried to sell Dasani bottled tap water here there was a huge scandal and the company failed. Not that that excuses Jamali spouting an idiotic conspiracy theory even as a joke of course!
Findlay Christie has a few videos called "Asking black and white people the same questions" and in one of them they talked about tap water as well. Basically only the white people said that they drank tap water.
Was the list of instructions in the jacket? We will never know.
Or under the bath? Coz the bath wasn't needed for any of the tasks... 🤔

Around here it's the sane thing to do IMO. Not because of government chemicals but because it tastes bloody disgusting.
Depends on where you are. Sometimes it really can't be trusted: Flint Michigan, for a well-known example. I don't drink straight tap water in my town, I run it through a filter. It's not because I think it's unsafe, but because it tastes disgusting. I don't judge anyone for not trusting their tap water though.
It is crazy, but it does beg the question: do you really want to force someone to drink a glass of water on a television show? That just seems like bad PR if nothing else.
Depends on where you live. There are plenty of places where the water is not kept safe enough for consumption.
Now, not wanting to drink it on the grounds of a nutter conspiracy about chemicals in the water? That absolutely is proper mental.
@@Narokkurai Yeah, that wouldn't have looked good even for a comedy show. Greg was right not to punish him for it as well by not awarding the point. It's not like they could pause the task either (as they do sometimes) and swap it for bottled water.

I absolutely loved this whole season. Allof the contestants were great, and most were recognizable. Last 2 seasons, i feel like i didnt know anyone.

I can read quite quickly so I probably would have read the whole thing before it went up in flames, but my short term memory stinks so I wouldn't have remembered more than 2 or 3 items 😅.

Being a dumb American, I didn't know what some of those words were. I wouldn't have known quaff means to drink something, I don't know what ribena is, don't know what a vole is, etc. Apart from memorizing the tasks in seconds, I'd still have been completely lost.
'They put chemicals in the tap water' Why yes, they do, that's what makes it *clean*. I guess he'd rather drink toilet water.
The chemicals in tap water is literally just a minuscule amount of chlorine and some natural vitamins and minerals
