- In today's video, we were in Missouri and wanted to eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant in Springfield, MO called Mexcian Villa. It is one of the things we miss most about Missouri! We were able to head back and we had to do a restaurant review. Mexican Villa is very popular in Springfield, Missouri. The kicker is that a lot of people either really love it or really hate it and we really love it! It has been a place we have visited for a long time. We enjoy the food! They have remodeled since the last time we have been. We loaded up on the cheese dip, salsa, enchiladas, and tacos and we were so full after it all. Mexican Villa has amazing Coke. It’s top notch! There are 7 locations and no other locations outside of that area. However, if you are ever looking for a Mexican restaurant in Springfield, MO, check out Mexican Villa!
Stay tuned for another video coming soon. Thanks so much for watching! God Bless!!!

Loved seeing John Wayne on the wall. Awesome
It’s a great spot! We really enjoy how they decorated it!
Mexican Villa…my mouth is watering! The Stinkin Goods were well-deserved.
It is so good!
My husband and I ate at the original one 12yrs ago, happy I came across your video. We are on the 'love it' side. Might need to take a road trip soon.
My wife and I ate there on your honeymoon 44 years ago, it was great then don’t live in Springfield but need to go back and eat at Mexican villa for sure! The original was on National I think that is where we always went, was there for our 30 year anniversary and had that same waitress! Sorry now thinking about it was on Sunshine just off National.
Wow this is awesome! It’s a great spot to eat! We have been going for years so any time we are in the area, we have to make sure we stop there. Check it out again sometime!
@@thealtemlife GOING THERE NEXT WEEK,CAN'T WAIT!!!
SMS in the house!!
Best Springfield Mexican food. Only place was on National when I was there. I have to get cashew chicken when I go back.
Someone shared the recipe for the enchilada sauce. Very good. We make it anytime we do enchiladas or tamales.
So good! Glad you agree! Wish we would have filmed more when we lived there!
Oh that is great info to have!
Mixing the hot sauce with the sweet is the play. If to hot add sweet or vice versa.
👍👍
Thanks!
Speaking of Mexican food, have you been to Latinos Y Mas in Ocala, FL? If not you should try it. It’s more of a Latin fusion place that also has some Mexican dishes!
Don’t think we have done that one yet so we will have to try it! Thank you for the suggestion!
While in college (now MSU) we used to go to the one on National. A cockroach ran across the table, which everybody thought was hilarious (that was in the 1980s though and I'm sure they have improved their hygeine by now, hopefully.) Maybe the Coke is from Mexico. They use a different kind of sugar there.
Awesome memories! It seems like they have some cleaner restaurants now haha. They do have some amazing coke! Thanks for sharing your story!
Looks dope. I don’t know that I’ve seen a Mexican place in business since 1951. We have one here in my area that was the first one around and that was in the late 60s
It’s so good! It has been there a long time and has the 7 locations. We love it!
Clean Stinkin Sweep !
That’s right!!!
Best place to eat in Springfield Mo
Agreed! So good!
Now I want chips, salsa and Taco's! I agree even here when you find a place that your palate loves someone else says, ewe...Enjoy your family and thanks for taking us along
Thank you! We had a great time and enjoyed stopping at a few places!
How about doing a cashew chicken restaurant?
Yes, since the recipe was developed there by Mr. Leong.
Yes! We weren’t able to do it this trip but have eaten our fair share of Cashew Chicken!
Yup! We didn’t have time to do a review but next time!
Have to try Habanero’s next time you’re there. It’s better. Mexican Villa was the best when there was nothing else but Springfield has built great options.
Interesting! For us, we are definitely biased on the fact that we ate at Mexican Villa a lot and it holds a special place for us! Hard to pass up now that we don’t go up there very often. However, will have to try that sometime so thanks for sharing!
@@thealtemlife Evangel University grad. I understand. :) All throughout the 90s and 2000s, Mexican Villa and Hong Kong Inn were it. I still go back a lot as my parents live there. I got a list of Springfield favorites.
Great video, I love all the stikin goods👍
Thanks so much!!!
Your so welcome, we love watching all your videos, lots of good information always , looking forward to moving to the villages in 2027 and hopefully seeing and saying hello to your both...
I always get the Chili Rellenos. And you had to mention Andy’s - closest one is 76 miles. Thanks for making me want to fight the I-75 traffic for s treat
Personally, I don't eat at Mexican restaurants unless they serve Tres Leches for dessert. Chuy's is my all-time favorite!
Interesting! Thanks for sharing!
I'm in the can't stand category
It’s funny how it works out like that lol. Literally it is a love or hate relationship. Thanks for sharing!
Are you kidding me I ate there one time and I literally felt sick after. I would rather go to the freezer section and buy a Mexican dinner from price cutter. I wouldn't feed that s*** to my dog
Sorry you had that experience. A lot of people love it and so do we!
I'm sure that wasn't the only thing you ate that day and food poisoning can wait up to 36hrs to hit. Don't assume.
