Gizmo's bench is a wonderful way to celebrate his life and all the joy he brought to those around him. It warms my heart to see people enjoying it and remembering him in such a beautiful spot. I can't wait to visit and pay my respects to Gizmo at this perfect memorial.🥰🐕🥰
Jerry and Linda, when I was about 13 years old, I lived in NJ, but spent two weeks in summer with my grandparents, who lived in Tamarac, FL (near Fort Lauderdale). There was a canal that ran behind their back yard. One afternoon, I was sitting back there reading a book. The next-door neighbor came out her back door and warned me that there was an alligator in the canal, only a few feet away from where I sat! I looked where she was pointing, and just saw some gray thing sticking up out of the water. It was the top of his head! As I looked, he picked up his entire head out of the water, and I saw that very recognizable long snout! I thanked the neighbor, and she went back into her house. I continued reading for a few more minutes, but then I began to wonder if the gator thought I looked like a tasty lunch! I decided it would be safer to retreat into the house for the remainder of the day! I didn’t see Mr. Gator again during my visit, and I’m glad about that!
I love watching your show, so sad salty people have to be so unkind, in this world we have to many unhappy people this to me is very sad 😢 when we have so many people to be thankful for, our military who protect our freedom, our police who keep us safe on the streets ( which in the Villages I live alone and feel very safe) and we are blessed to have our first responders, firefighters, I believe happiness begins with yourself if they want to be miserable then stop watching happy people 🤷🏻♀️ Thank-You Linda and Gerry for being you 🥰

Thank you for all the information you provide. I’m closing on a new home in Stone Creek in Ocala tomorrow. I love the Villages but after all my research the smaller community worked for me better. I will continue to follow your great content and hopefully go see Gizmo’s bench in the future.

@@JERRYANDLINDA It was a great job before Florida became unaffordable. Had a nice little Apt for 350 a month about 12 miles from there. That same Apt is now 1500 a month. Enjoy the Villages it's a great place.
We love going to the square when "he " is there! So much fun in person or to watch on the webcam from afar. Y'all are WAY better than that Kelly tv person. Can't wait to visit Gizmo's bench.

Watched the video of the gator in the pond, if you look closely you’ll see the water vibrating around his middle torso. That is a signal for females who can fill the vibration in the water.

Dear Jerry and Linda, have been watching your show for several years and never intend to move to TV. I watch because I find it interesting and you are two of the nicest people I’ve never met. You are honest, kind, friendly, and sometimes funny. I’ve lived in Fl more than 50 years and chose to live in a less populated area, although Citrus County is Exploding. The negative effect the TV has on the area is on the water table. I don’t think there is anything anyone can do about it. We all have to have water. I don’t want you to consider my comment as salty it is just a fact.

The alligators would be a big minus for me in TV, especially If I had a waterfront property and a pet. Do you two remember a show that was on telivsion on Saturday nights call "The Midwestern Hayride", they had singers on there like Patsy Cline and Buck Owens?
I don’t remember that show, but I used to enjoy watching “Hee Haw” as a child in the 1960s! I got a big kick out of that recurring funny song that was sung by Archie Campbell and a guest star. “Where oh where are you tonight?” It had a line in the refrain that went “you met another, and phhht! You was gone!” Does anyone remember that one?
Many people outside of The Villages are irritated with us because prior to our ever expanding footprint they lived in quiet areas surrounded by farmland. They believe that each and every Villager moved here knowing they were contributing to the disruption of their previously tranquil area. Many Villagers when they hear about the ill will felt towards us say things like, "Look at the number of jobs The Villages has created", or, "Look at the amount of tax revenue that has been used to improve the roads, etc.". But the locals outside The Bubble see only the destruction of their previously peaceful area. And... some are jealous- thinking that all Villagers are rich and snobby, while they struggle to make ends meet.
It may be that some villagers behavior contribute to the negative attitude of people who were here first. I think that is a common situation everywhere when many newcomers move into an area. I cannot think that maybe being willing to integrate rather than dominate might improve relations
We encountered that when moved here. A sales associate at a local store made it a point to tell us how Sumter County residents fought to keep The Villages out and they didn’t want them here. I do understand why they are upset and can empathize with them. However, like so many other places rural Central Florida is changing and will not stay rural forever. I think another side to this is the younger generations do not want to continue farming the land left to them.

I bought my DIL, daughter, and myself neck fans for the summer months. Hopefully they are comfortable. We spend the winter in Naples and we often overhear native Floridans complaining about newcomers and snowbirds. Without that population Naples would still be a small backwater town without many amenities. I've seen many Florida small towns that have never flourished and I don't think many people would be happy with that situation. We also pay taxes yearly even though we are only here 5 to 6 months.

Hi Jerry and Linda. Enjoyed your show that has a life of its own, ever changing and evolving. One reason you've attracted and influenced so many folks to try out and move to TV is FOMO. You always present so many new resources, reviews, and explanations about the quality of life there that people have a Fear Of Missing Out if they don't check it out. Regarding the gators, they are prehistoric creatures to respect and avoid. I think the gates give an impression of security. Much like the Aldi quarter lures you to return your cart. Psychological. Solved the scramble. It's a good gig.

It's a shame that people come from the north and want to see Alligators. But when they do they want them removed. When they are removed, they kill the.. it's a shame

One of Beckett's favorite things to do in TV was go for rides in the golf cart. We, and she, really, really enjoyed TV. Already planning our next trip to TV. See you when she get there. 🐕

The green on the egg is a definite reaction to heat/length of cooking. It changes the taste. I think it is more delicious that way, and is not harmful. Perhaps you might want to try to taste a little bit. (You could always discretely spit it out.) You might find you like it.

My husband and myself always share a meal because we simply just can’t eat two meals and why waste the money. So yes we believe that surcharge is ridiculous and we always tip generously anyhow we’re moving in TV this week. See you when we get there.

You're absolutely right about taxes. We pay the amenity fees for the Villages, then the School tax, property tax and all other associated taxes any other resident of the three counties would pay as well. There's not one tax we are exempt from that the people outside of the Villages would also be paying... and because we're here, with the massive amount of services in food, entertainment, recreation etc. available through the Villages, we create jobs for those people. So if someone wants to be completely and utterly ignorant and write the kind of garbage that particular commenter wrote, I'd ignore them from now on and let them suffer their own misery unto themselves because nothing will change their minds. Jealousy is a hell of a thing and that's all they are. Jealous.

We have been looking at $1m dollar pre-owned homes in the Villages and are shocked at how wildly the gross tax bill is different between each house. Is any county cheaper than the other?

Some Recenter are adult pools, if you do a search for (pools in TV) it will direct you to a site that you can print a map to pools. Many salty comments on TV FB sites by outsiders, IMO that gives many people a false impression of TV. Our Will was drawn up in Nevada, we had to change the power of attorney. See ya next/Monday. Great points on how our tax payments benefit the surrounding communities. That plus our spending our retirement money in the local stores with contractors etc. creates jobs. I can understand grousing from service workers but consider the alternative local communities

We are very familiar with Stone creek. In fact, we almost did a lifestyle visit there… and changed it at the last minute to come to the villages.

Many people outside of The Villages are irritated with us because prior to our ever expanding footprint they lived in quiet areas surrounded by farmland. They believe that each and every Villager moved here knowing they were contributing to the disruption of their previously tranquil area. Many Villagers when they hear about the ill will felt towards us say things like, "Look at the number of jobs The Villages has created", or, "Look at the amount of tax revenue that has been used to improve the roads, etc.". But the locals outside The Bubble see only the destruction of their previously peaceful area. And... some are jealous- thinking that all Villagers are rich and snobby, while they struggle to make ends meet.
Sometimes I respond back to those people, your home was built on open land.
It may be that some villagers behavior contribute to the negative attitude of people who were here first. I think that is a common situation everywhere when many newcomers move into an area. I cannot think that maybe being willing to integrate rather than dominate might improve relations
I’m not sure it is fair to blame people who have had their home area totally changed and turned upside down. 🤷🏻♀️
We encountered that when moved here. A sales associate at a local store made it a point to tell us how Sumter County residents fought to keep The Villages out and they didn’t want them here. I do understand why they are upset and can empathize with them. However, like so many other places rural Central Florida is changing and will not stay rural forever. I think another side to this is the younger generations do not want to continue farming the land left to them.
Why don't you talk to Native Americans about your plight? I'm sure they'll feel sorry for you.

I bought my DIL, daughter, and myself neck fans for the summer months. Hopefully they are comfortable.
We spend the winter in Naples and we often overhear native Floridans complaining about newcomers and snowbirds. Without that population Naples would still be a small backwater town without many amenities. I've seen many Florida small towns that have never flourished and I don't think many people would be happy with that situation. We also pay taxes yearly even though we are only here 5 to 6 months.
Right. The native Americans are the ones that should be complaining.

Hi Jerry and Linda. Enjoyed your show that has a life of its own, ever changing and evolving. One reason you've attracted and influenced so many folks to try out and move to TV is FOMO. You always present so many new resources, reviews, and explanations about the quality of life there that people have a Fear Of Missing Out if they don't check it out.
Regarding the gators, they are prehistoric creatures to respect and avoid. I think the gates give an impression of security. Much like the Aldi quarter lures you to return your cart. Psychological. Solved the scramble. It's a good gig.

The green on the egg is a definite reaction to heat/length of cooking. It changes the taste. I think it is more delicious that way, and is not harmful. Perhaps you might want to try to taste a little bit. (You could always discretely spit it out.) You might find you like it.

You're absolutely right about taxes. We pay the amenity fees for the Villages, then the School tax, property tax and all other associated taxes any other resident of the three counties would pay as well. There's not one tax we are exempt from that the people outside of the Villages would also be paying... and because we're here, with the massive amount of services in food, entertainment, recreation etc. available through the Villages, we create jobs for those people. So if someone wants to be completely and utterly ignorant and write the kind of garbage that particular commenter wrote, I'd ignore them from now on and let them suffer their own misery unto themselves because nothing will change their minds. Jealousy is a hell of a thing and that's all they are. Jealous.

We have been looking at $1m dollar pre-owned homes in the Villages and are shocked at how wildly the gross tax bill is different between each house. Is any county cheaper than the other?

Some Recenter are adult pools, if you do a search for (pools in TV) it will direct you to a site that you can print a map to pools. Great points on how our tax payments benefit the surrounding communities. That plus our spending our retirement money in the local stores with contractors etc. creates jobs. I can understand grousing from service workers but consider the alternative local communities
