Ranitomeya Care Focusing on imitators

In this video I highlight the basic care of Ranitomeya which are a small species of dart frog from Central and South America. I go over temperature and humidity requirements, terrarium examples and setup, temperament of the frogs and best practices for keeping thumbnail frogs.

Ay troy, i watched your 22 tour and i was curious about your cork panel enclosures. Did you use like flat pressed cork and carve it or did you use the cork bark textured flats?

I second the top opening suggestion. I had my male escape yesterday without even noticing (and i was careful!). Luckily i spotted him escaping my cat. It was a stressful moment, but hes calling away and fine! I have never had the problem with top opening vivs.

I’m looking at Varadero as my second imitators. I got Chazuta and absolutely love them! I’m hoping the Varadero are just as bold.

I’m looking to get two frogs for my 12x12x18 vivarium. Do you have to get 2 of the same color/patterns? I was hoping to have a little difference in the looks but if it’s not safe, I don’t want to risk it

Keep the same species together, do not mix them up, it’s frowned upon.
