This is the best Japanese automative documentary series on TH-cam by far. Best part of starting the week every week. I will watch these for as long as they’re online
Man the touge runs, Initial D definitely exaggerates the ambient lighting in their races, I'd be right shitting my pants driving like that on an actual mountain pass lmao
That entire honda museum seems like it's a year 2000 time capsule. The asimo robot is 20 years old at this point, the youngest car they have on display is that ek9. I love it, but at the same time it feels like it's slowly fading out as well.
Something happened inside me when the Gran Turismo music played. Think I traveled to another place! Can’t believe there is only 1 episode left. This better all end up on a dvd with bonus outtakes.
When you think about how so much of the Japanese car culture owes its roots to the 1950s to 1970s car scene in the US, but made it their own. Imagine the muscle car enthusiasts in Japan going to a car show in America, where so many classics are now arriving in trailers to keep the miles off em and no one will risk their 1967 Shelby GT500 on a drag strip. Itll be just standing around listening to surfer music, wearing Tommy Bahama, boat shoes, beige shorts and staring at roped off mortgage level cars. I used to think I will always get to go watch the drag races or vintage race car exhibition events... but they're disappearing quick! These guys have the right idea... "enjoy." while it's still there, thankfully filmed... and gratefully watched by us!!
Yep well spotted, the Japanese stuff is our generation of hot rodding, would have loved seeing the American stuff in its heyday, that scene was my first love until I found the Japanese stuff, then I was doomed forever.
I know you said that the footage of the grip togue doesn't look fast, but I trust there's plenty of us out here in comment land that raced around our local B roads night after night after night in our first few cars that can tell just how much that S2000 and the Colt for that matter were shifting.
im very sad that these guys dont have social media, because i would love to follow every single one of them. but then again at the same time i am very happy for them and completely respect them for not caring at all and just enjoying life atm in real time.
GT1 garage music was a nice touch indeed. I gotta go there. That #14 Mooncraft Racing JACCS Accord driven by Naoki Hattori is a legend car for me. I designed my first piece of bodywork to fit my first car from the front splitter of that race car. I've always loved that pattern Enkei ten spoke wheel, especially on lowered Hondas, gives it that JTCC or BTCC look I love. That 1995 Team Kunimitsu HONDA NSX GTLM race car I always used that car on SSR11 in GT1, such a great course and a great car.
It feels like you guys are documenting some of the most special stuff in every episode, I hope years on people that are into this kind of stuff discover it and learn new things
ref 24:00 Many years ago we lost a very talented driver, awesome friend, all round good guy, had a head on (not his fault, head on with overtaking dickhead) and was crushed by his toolbox. Seen a couple close 1’s from sub boxes too. Please folks, bracket and strap the fuck out of your subs, put tools in the boot, put bulkheads in vans, think about it when you put the back seat down.
Just watching this series for the 4th time. Honestly this piece of brilliance will be watched for many years to come. Catching a moment in time on every episode. 👌
@@juiceboxforyou The Hondas are getting hard to find in good shape. Especially the early Fireblades. I had to do a frame swap on my CBR929RR after I bought it. The gooseneck she was wallered out lads! Here are a couple short videos of it when I bought it and after I fixed the wiring. BTW the 929 has the biggest trunk of any superbike, guaranteed ;) Love the Japan stuff lately, keep up the great work you guys are all doing, I really appreciate it! th-cam.com/video/W6n5HDs58KM/w-d-xo.html
Japanese people are just tossing away legendary JDM and racing legends while the rest of the world is craving them. Makes me want to visit Japan just for it.
Just when you think you've seen the best of the Japanese car culture in these videos, these boys always find more amazing things. The lads notice the small articulate simple things in the japanese culture that the common Irish person wouldn't even notice. Bravo lads really appreciate these videos and how you notice and appreciate the small details
It's true though. F1 and co were much more interesting then, without the tons and tons of regulations. Also the "DTM" was insane in the 80s/90s. It was harsh, there's been contact. Rough contact. And now? Meh.
Amazing content, but truly excellent editing. That's usually true with your videos, but this one just clicks. The amount of work in all of that is impressive, and love that you're playing with it.
Cheers guys, still loving the series. This episode made me miss my old s2000 so much. Just like the guy in this video it was an addiction to take that car out on the back lanes every night. Yea we are burning the candle at both ends but as long as you take the jdm car you bought and do what it was designed to do and not just park it up, I feel like your doing your part to keep it all going.
SO GOOD THE GREEN AND ORANGE NSX IN THE HONDA MUSEUM IS MY FAVORTIE and the crazy S13s abandoned by the side of the road 16:10 " japanese bat" lollll and of course the touge was very cool as a grip racer myself so many bugs lol
soon the vans will go up in price once every one can go to japan again and start doing van tours like this, it seems like the best way to get all over the country.
This is magic Neil. BBC or Amazon should be knocking on your door to buy this. You should be pushing it, and pocket some big dollars that you can use make more awesome stuff. Love it brother. 🇸🇬
The teaser at the end ive seen that spot drifted in so many vids over the years can’t wait to see the uphill right bend with the big wall in the back!!
The mad thing is sometimes i drift off watching a vid and think about bullshit. I just took a swig of me beer and had to go back 10secs because i missed 4secs of the Honda museum 🤣 THANKS AGAIN LADS, fucking love this series 👊👊👊

The Honda Collection Hall is on my bucket list definitely a pilgrimage for any Honda junkie. Unfortunately Asimo is being retired this year.
"He wasn't actually racing with my Father..." hahaha pure gold as usual!

Speed on a b road is a whole different ball game, taking a corner at 60 feels like you're going 100
