I love the level of politeness and respect you show to folks in Japan. It feels in contrast to a lot of other content. Japan feels very like an odd version of Ireland. Weird lads in sheds firing cars about country lanes.
Totally, the production and the vibe of it suits the subject matter so well. The way everything is tied in together just works, draws you right into it.
Most of the 80s-90s Hondas have racing pedigree which helps. For all the admittedly understandable stereotyping and hate they get, when done up right they're always a treat.
The smiles per minute on this episode man.. and the goosebumps when seeing all those hondas. This is unreal. And I just love how you document all this stuff. The pure excitement and joy is just so captivating. Makes me feel just as excited as I would be when seeing it with my own eyes.
These are some of the best vids you produce, Neil. Truly wonderful to see you guys capturing maybe some of the last Old Honda era until it fades from existence. It's not only getting expensive in Japan... Hawaii is the same way. The scene is slowly fading, sadly. It only inspires me to keep moving forward with my 95 BK Wagon, and keep her going for as long as I can.
Honestly I feel honoured to be able to watch these videos. Nothing but utter dedication and love to Japanese car culture and you and the guys do such a good job of capturing it. Always looking forward to videos from you and the gang out in Japan. Thank you for all the time you put into these videos ❤
bro... this video comes randomly today on my feed.. i'm portuguese, i'm into cars and car culture, but doesn't know your channel.. and what a FUCKING WELL DONE VIDEOS!!! congrats! very cool content on a very respectful way.. with no big fireworks.. an proper direction and on point edition! congrats mates! ;)
This brings back episodes 3 vibes from the last series absolutely epic Neil My mates are even watching these now and the ain’t even into cars that much Thank you 🙏
Loved this episode, just the feeling of friendship through cars is amazing even tho they dont even speak the same language.. The white accord was just perfect👌 ,i have a modded tsx(cl9/k24a2) which over in japan is the accord, they can look and perform amazing if done correctly but they're such an uncommon choice for enthusiasts, maybe one of the reason i love mine 😊
It’s so overwhelming watching yous just sitting in that garden and some old people getting a buzz off yous and then getting to sign bonnets etc when in reality ya just bunch of lads that are so down to earth and love cars and the culture, I would have cried a little haha got abit teary watching it, buzzing for yous 👊🏻
Got a bit emotional. Thank you for sharing this with us. You capture it all so well because you truly love it. The bit with the lads in Osaka is amazing and it's such a shame that it's going to slip away in our lifetime.
The Honda culture is still going strong on the East coast in the US. The boys up there are still digging them out of the bushes and poring their heart and souls into them. It would be wild to get the group from Osaka up to see the drag racing that they do all motor full out record setting Honda drag racing. The contrast from the other side of the world in Japan and Ireland then the US is so interesting. You’re right that no one else builds them that way. What a good episode, it really shows your growth over the years as a photographer and editor as well. It was definitely the trip of a lifetime. ✌️
for every 1 good drag honda in the East coast you have 50 different accords and CRVs with mismatched panels, unpainted bumpers, hacked up suspension, rep or stolen OEM wheels, very bad audio setups, etc
Damn man! Good episode, all the information given 👏 the end was 💔 to think about the end of an era! The way you shot the footage and matched it with the music and voice over lay felt like a right heartfelt good bye. Glad they continue to drive and have evolved to track laps much safer. All good things come to an end. 😢 ❤
Very cool. Though like you say bittersweet with prices and parts rarity hitting the scene. For a nice change good to see B series not being swapped out for K _and_ with OEM airboxes. 👍🙂
As a veteran from the ol days, I approve of this video. It was the best thing to see the culture at its peak. It's the saddest thing to look at it now.
this is the vibe that got me started on the channel!! its cool to have gotten to meet you at tas..hope you can get back to japan this year for more content! Thank you Neil - Matt
Neil, just "thank you". Thank you for bringing me back to a era when cars were cool, life was slower and times were all about your car, and living for the weekends. The universal language of cars is understood the world over and I've had some memorable nights the world over talking to complete strangers about cars. Life is now, a diesel, mortgage and a busy job, but thank you for bringing me back.
I remember walking in Osaka to Dotonbori and hearing the Kanjozoku over head running the loop. The feeling was surreal being in Osaka. Hopefully for my next i can get more involved in the car scene. One can only dream to experience that world 🥲
It's so cool that the passion for these machines leaps across oceans and language barriers. This was a real treat to watch, and the production value of this series has been outstanding. Thanks!
Best use of a lunch break so far this year. I'm glad they lads are doing more circuit racing, because it is ultimately safer - but I can't help feeling a bit nostalgic for the scene, even though I was never part of it, hah 😂😂 Apparently there's a portuguese word for it: Saudade. I've so much love for the gang of mates and their cars, and how eager they are to engage with other car enthusiasts, and I half wish I'd been part of that culture twenty-something years ago. As always, an absolute treat, and thank you for sharing
Great video as always lads. Love this. I love Hondas and kanjo culture. I want to turn my jazz into a kanjo style car. Japan is top on my bucket list for sure. I would love to tour round, experience the culture and go find the car shops. Zero fighter is defo on the list. Keep up the great work. Love your content lads
Fuck, what a video, once again. Loving this series so far. Can't wait to see the rest Neil On a sidenote, anyone got an ID on the backing track used from 7:45? i can tell it's the keys section from Reformation by Zairis Tejion, but that alternative bassline and beat is fucking killer
Loving This series lads and tis sad to hear that lads are finding it hard to to Build the cars up with every thing becoming more and more expensive in Japan
Man, if you ever went to Japan again please let me know. I'm sure you wouldn't mind a Welsh cake hanging round in the background haha. You lads have experienced it sooo right. The level of respect you dudes have to the locals and the love from the locals to you 👌 Priceless mun!
I love the Japan series’ you guys do. If you do another one with a van and a plan and don’t call it Juicebox: 2 Van 2 Plan it’s a wasted opportunity. Keep it up fellas!
It really does. My first car was an accord of that generation, and I've always regretted that I was too young and inexperienced to properly maintain it and protect it from the rust that destroyed it.
Awesome video! It's way more entertaining to see these cars in detail and the friendship you've built with them. The 'universal language of cars' thing is super cringe but when you experience it, it's really cool!
I'm glad you 'get it', this is 'the last chance' to own any of the cool cars we drooled over when younger. It makes me sad too, I'm about to make disgusting money next year for something that was £1200-1500-2000k for a minter 10-13 years ago :( and by the time it's up to spec it'll be silly money, but it's my last chance. I hate the fact that in say 5 years time everything will be rotten/20-30k+ for basic stuff, and then what's left? Owning shite modern cars with zero soul/feel, all stupidly big/heavy, with fake noises piped in and unreliability everywhere thanks to multiple 'modules' and ecu's running everything, and cars just being made to be thrown away after 5 years these days, as with everything :( The whole 'they don't make them like they used to' really IS true with everything.
Love the way alot of them do unsponsored liveries etc! Bring Reuben back 😢 😂 that Advan laurel is the perfect example of a japanese car (looks cool but its actually used and abused)
The culture and comradery can continue in the same way, it would just require newer cheap cars to be used instead. Won't ever be the same but it can be similar 🥹 loving the videos Neil! Bigs ups to you and the gang! 🫡
I love the level of politeness and respect you show to folks in Japan. It feels in contrast to a lot of other content. Japan feels very like an odd version of Ireland. Weird lads in sheds firing cars about country lanes.
exactly
What a way to think of it 😂 spot on
These juicebox japan episodes hit so different than any other jdm content on youtube...
Totally, the production and the vibe of it suits the subject matter so well. The way everything is tied in together just works, draws you right into it.
Fact....they just get you in the feels
Really appreciate the kind words, means a lot ❤
What an episode, something special about an economy car turned purpose built race car.
Most of the 80s-90s Hondas have racing pedigree which helps. For all the admittedly understandable stereotyping and hate they get, when done up right they're always a treat.
@@possibly8180 Civics have been raced since day 1

It's pretty cool of the Osaka lads to get into circuit racing lmao. Natural progression
For sure
best channel on youtube!

Thank you for preserving this period of Japanese car culture.🙏🏼⏳
Thanks for watching ❤
Absolutely unbelievable love these trip videos as always

Im a toyota guy, but love seeing all the hondas together.
The content you lads put out is second to none. Never stop doing what you're doing.
Really appreciate it!
I’m fighting the urge to kanjo livery my civic 🙈
Why do you fight the urge !
Do it
DO IT !
I speak for the majority when I say DO IT

My favourite part of the video was the Rollins Band T shirt your mate was wearing 🤘. Thanks lads , great video . G’ DAY from Australia 🇦🇺🇮🇪🇯🇵

Thanks Neil
That Accord is amazing! Just got my wife's CH1 ATR back up and running this last few days, absolutely lovely cars.
Heavily underrated machines
this is so beautiful

so cool to see them still doing b-series stuff. america has really moved on from the b-series and is full speed into K-series.
Yeah they are locked into that setup, parts are still a plenty I guess
