I know this is a horror but Bryce with the 'these can't be real questions' and then watching Rob have to just physically block Zoff out around 18:25 was almost like watching a comedy 😂

I’m totally with rob on the whole caving thing I would not even get close to a cave just watching the girls go through it was enough for me
I went caving on a school trip, it was supposed to be a super safe version because of how young and inexperienced we were, though we had a bit we had to crawl through that was incredibly tight for us as 13 year olds, it was so dark you couldn't see your hand in front of your face, and some of us kids were too big to do it, it was so claustrophobic. I really enjoyed it though and planned to do more. Then literally less than a week later a different school had a trip in the same caves doing the same activities we did, there was unexpected heavy rain and a kid my age wandered off just a few metres from where he was supposed to be, got trapped and drowned. I haven't felt the need to go caving again since then, funnily enough.

Literally the only thing I ever say about the Descent is "F*CK JUNO!". I don't care what anyone says, I would have done the same thing. Also the reason Beth was sneaking behind her was because the creatures were attracted by sound. She wasn't trying to give away their position. But any who, it's a great movie. Y''all are amazing.
Just so y’all know the original/UK ending is much better than the US one (which seems to be the one you watched). I’d recommend watching it, but it’s a bit less hopeful than the US ending. They changed it because they thought the original ending was a bit too bleak/dark for US audiences 😂

I was so confused the second time I saw the movie. I saw one ending and then, the second time the other ending. And I was like, "WHAT??! SO LAME!" (US version)
They wanted to make more money with a sequel of course. USA ending is so bad compared to the original
I saw the original ending for the first time a month ago! I was confused why it kept going because I've watched this movie a handful of times through the years and never seen it, but it is SUCH a better ending! bleak sure but the way she's fully messed up and lost in her mind (which makes sense) is such a more impactful ending for this story

I don't think I've heard Juno's name be said so many times in one reaction as I did in this one 😂. On the subject of Beth...I don't know that anyone would logically be thinking, "Let me announce myself" five seconds after being attacked by creatures at the bottom of cave. Fear doesn't really work that way. Also, Juno got everything she deserved 🤷♀
Somehow, I feel if Juno wasn't hot her constant treachery would hold more weight. She had an affair with Sarah's husband, then left her to suffer the loss alone so she wouldn't be caught. She tricked them into going into a cave of unknown dangers and knowing Sarah wasn't well. Her friend came over to help fight those things figuring out they react to sound. Juno screws up, then leaves her friend to bleed out in the dark, alone, with those creatures around after she told her not to leave her. Didn't stay with her or end her suffering. Then, lied about doing it. The only good thing she did this entire movie was attempt to fight those things.

I wish there was a count on how many times yall said "I hope it's not Juno." 😂 Juno was the problem! From sleeping with her friend's husband to gathering everyone to an unmarked cave. She was terrible and she definitely was not the "most brave person".
This!! When I watched this movie I wanted Juno to die cuz I felt that it would be unfair if she didn’t, seeing as how she caused it. Of course she was a hell of a fighter and I loved that, but I refused for her to be a final girl lol.
Sarah and Juno are the bravest. She saved Sarah twice and killed the most creatures, she still deserved to die though
Yeah I was rooting for her to die all movie that's why the ending was so satisfiying for me. I think they missed the begining where they showed she was with the cheater.
I think Sara proved herself to be just as terrible, if not worse.

Juno killing Beth was an accident but the fact that she left her suffering there is the upsetting part. Especially when Beth says don’t leave me. Sarah then believed Juno was extremely selfish because she stabbed Beth and left her to die and also was having an affair with her husband. To top all of that off, she brought them down there with false pretenses and got them all lost and stuck. She wasn’t a real friend and everything she tried to do for Sarah was from guilt for sleeping with her now dead husband and the shared bond they had with him. Juno may have helped her all the way to get out but Sarah couldn’t know that for sure after killing her best friend and sleeping with her husband which got her daughter killed.

I love this movie! But the ending was different. The one I saw Sarah didn't escape. Her escaping was all a dream. She wakes up and realizes she is still in the cave and there's no way out.

The first one has 2 endings. The US one, which is the one they watched. And the other countries received the one with the ending I explained. They changed the ending in the US to be able to make a sequel. And I assume they used the same ending to finish part 2.

You could also interpret this movie as Sarah's descent into madness following the car accident.
That end was way lighter, the alternative ending is so depressing but more realistic

Y'all saw the US ending. You should've watched the UK version where after Sarah sees Juno in her car it cuts back to the cave with Sarah still trapped and the camera pans out with those creatures surrounding her. It made for a bleak and sad ending.

It still boggles my mind that Juno would leave Beth there after she asked her not to leave. Given that she's able to fight them and given everything prior where she helped them get across, that she would leave her there was just unforgivable and made Juno's death in the end all the more appropriate especially since she's the reason they're down there
I relate to Rob I get so anxious watching claustrophobic stuff 😩Zuffs questions throughout had me dying 😂
I will always recommend this movie. There's the stress of spelunking, the horror of survival, the women are all badasses, and the story is dark. It could have been better, but I still think it's a must-see.
I never clicked a video so fast 😂😂 I absolutely LOVE this movie the feeling of going through a cave creeps me tf out, I would never do it I am literally claustrophobic.😂 I couldn’t stand Juno lol she literally was sleeping with her best friends husband, didn’t talk to her because she was basically mourning her dead affair, then she gets them all together for a trip because she’s feeling guilty about it all and gets them killed.
Edit: I don’t get how you don’t see what Juno did was wrong lol it’s not about Sarah thinking she killed everybody else it was about trust.
First she lies about the cave being level one when she’s never been and nobody ever makes it out, she didn’t mean to kill Beth no but leaving her to suffer after her lie got her down there is foul, she was having a whole affair with Sarah’s husband, and on top of that it was her trying to ease her own guilt of basically cutting Sarah off so she could mourn her friends dead husband Juno was all around a horrible person lol did she deserve to be left for dead ? no but neither did Beth and Sarah didn’t deserve all that extra ✨Trauma✨all because Juno was feeling guilty. 🤷🏾♀️
I think she deserved to be left for dead. How many spouses would agree if they found out their dead SO was screwing their best friend? The SO is already dead, but your best friend's betrayal is just as bad. And that's without all this cave nonsense.

Juno 1000% deserved it. First there's having an affair with her friend's husband (which, one could argue, led to his and his daughter's death when he got distracted while his wife asked him why he's being so distant). THEN she broke the absolute cardinal rules of caving by 1. Picking a cave she had no actual mapping/knowledge for 2. LYING to her friends about this 3. Bringing them all there under false pretenses.

I could imagine it would be hard to see in a super bright room like yours…I saw it in a theater randomly without knowing anything about it with a friend in high school. We had a f*cking blast! We were sweaty and our hands hurt from squeezing the arm rests haha. Because the movie was just so immersive with the surround sound and visuals…and so damn tense.
I gotta give props to Rob & Bryce for watching movies with Zuff. Because I couldn’t🙄

Somebody may have already commented this, but they made the creatures without revealing anything to the actresses. The first time they come across one, the reaction is very real.

also i've never heard anyone defend juno even half as much as these guys do xD she was knowingly in an affair with one of her best friends husbands, and a pretty intense affair, it would seem. and then she gets them all trapped and killed. LOL. she has no redeeming qualities. even her intentions for the trip, to have them discover the cave and they could name it or whatever, was selfish. she just wanted to ease some of the guilt she felt 🙄 i don't care for her at all hahaha. (to be fair, she didn't need to be left for dead like that, but eh)

I think Sam was trying to get across but didn't have enough tools to do so. so she kinda just accepted her fate, i guess.

It was totally a dumbass move on Beth's part, but I have to think she was probably in shock from the creepy albino monster attack that just happened, I would probably be just wandering up to people without thinking too. I'd be Beth haha.

Am I the only one that noticed that the room with the bones is the same room where Sara wounds Juno, runs a few feet then falls, right as daylight shines is her face, before she climbs out. The entrance/exit was a few feet away from the room where they found the bones and saw the creatures for the first time.
Even without the creatures that was in the film, this is still the stuff of nightmares.
While I do find the idea of caves to be interesting and unique, I would never wanna explore it alone. Not only that, but the idea of getting stuck in a tight hole without a means to get out would freak me out. Weird part is that I'm not really claustrophobic but films like this makes me feel that way sometimes. Its kind of wild that this is a real thing that people actually do.
It's more that Juno left Beth to die slowly/be eaten alive (possibly) then lied about it when asked (amongst other things). She was a egotistical prick and deserved what happened. Also Sarah disabling Juno gives Sarah a better chance of escape/survival. 👍✌️

(fun fact) the cave was a bunch of giant movie sets also the crawlers were intentionally kept hidden from the girls so when they first see them their screams are genuine fear and the crawlers were actors in full body make up (movie ideas) alien, jurassic park, the cave 2005, jaws, antlers, land before time, the last unicorn, spirit stallion of the cimarron, van helsing 2004, american werewolf in london, godzilla king of monsters, lake placid, eight legged freaks, 47 meters down, priest 2011

I dunno, when I watched this recently she came out to me as a tragic heroine kinda figure. I think she was just hot in the pants. And a little too adventurous. Sarah did her pretty dirty in the end imo.
My overall impression of all of them was that they were all really reckless and stupid, and it all could’ve been avoided. Juno was just the leader. The rest should’ve known the cave was too much to handle early on.

Not sure if you caught on or not but the reason Sarah was able to fight those monsters so easily after she had to kill Beth and ran off and fell in the blood pit….is because they were a small female and a child monster. And being that we saw the male monsters hunting and fighting earlier in the film the female and child monsters most likely eat whatever the male monsters leave behind for them. Much like some species in the wild.
If this was just a movie about them trying to get out of the cave without the monsters, I would still consider this a horror movie.
I totally agree with Rob, if my so called "friend" tricked me into going into an undiscovered cave system in which I could die and no one would even know where I was... never ever speaking to them again. I don't think Juno deserved to die at the end, but holy crap she is a terrible person for dragging her whole friend group into an incredibly dangerous situation without their consent. Even without the monsters, there was a very good chance they were not all surviving that cave.

i was WAITING for the creature appearance, that part scared the hell out of me 😂 i was 10 when this movie came out and i watched it with my older sisters. this has been one of my favourite movies since then. we finished the movie around 12-1am and right after the movie my older sister sent me and my other sister(we’re the two youngest) outside to do one of our household chores that we had to do everynight cause my parents were out of town. we were scared shitless LOL my a-hole sister.

The US ending makes no sense, because nothing supernatural happens in this film up to that point but then randomly we're jumpscared by zombie Juno... It makes much more sense in the original ending when it's just a dream and Sarah wakes up still in the cave
I wouldn’t got spelunking in a cave that big without a guide in an area where I could easily be taken to a hospital. Let alone a super challenging unheard of undiscovered cave system. Absolutely the f*ck not!
The way this movie makes the traversing the cave scenes just as scary as the straight up monsters is wild. Seeing them squeeze through super tiny tight spaces that could collapse at any moment and the wide open darkness that just drop off into an abyss is so terrifying!

I don't know if you guys noticed but MyAnna Buring is Sam! She was in twilight as one of the blonde cousins of Edward, and Tissaia in the Witcher.
Sarah is in the sequel, I didn't care for it personally. The lack of light did this one justice. I wanted them to survive except for Holly because she was really stupid. Juno was wrong but I still liked her and wanted her to make it out.

I love this movie bc I always feel so complicated about Juno. She does all these awful things (the affair, lying about the cave, not staying with Beth), but she kicks ass like she's supposed to be the final girl and I just can't help rooting for her.

48:27 its hilarious that yall brought this concept up because in the original book by jeff long, the premise is entirely centered around the US government sending down scouting parties to investigate the underground society of the hadals (the names for the creatures), which were supposed to be some kind of evolutionary divergence from humans

I’m soooo excited for you guys to watch this. I LOVE this movie. I used to go caving in my teen years, until I got stuck in the system and I haven’t gone caving sense. Let me tell you first hand….that shit is bone melting, butt puckering terrifying
I'm so sad y'all didn't watch the original ending. Watching the OG ending after already watching it for the first time is just not the same as it being the ending you first see either. It honestly feels like a different movie if you watch the original first without realizing the American cut ruins the end.
A great action-packed movie with Meryl Streep, Kevin Bacon, David Strathairn, Joseph Mazzello, and John C. Reilly is Riverwild. It's an action-packed movie all about river rapids. I highly recommend this movie. The movie is a 10/10!

Wait, thats not the ending. She's still in the cave in the end, she never gets out and the last shot is the monsters descending on her while she thinks of her daughter.
I grew up next to a place called the Lava River Caves, it's a tunnel that an erupting volcano made, I went into it twice when I was about 11. At certain points it would get super small and narrow so you had to crawl through damp sand until it opened back up at the end. Looking back I'm terrified I ever went into it, I have horrible claustrophobia!😂
They had a cave similar to that one, you could take many paths but one guy got stuck upside down and eventually passed away so they closed it. I wish I could remember the name of it! But caves are a no no for me 😂

I love your reactions, but just a tip: horror movies need to feel more immersive, so maybe you could talk a little less through tense scenes and just react to it. You missed some important lines and had less impact on good jumpscares because you guys were talking the second prior
Not a horror movie, but the talk about going into caves made me think of another movie from last year, Thirteen Lives. I think you guys would like it if you check it out sometime! It's a drama/survival film about the Thai cave rescue back in 2018, and it has a few actors I know yall would enjoy seeing again lol.
I definitely have the same thoughts as you guys tho lmao I can't ever imagine doing spelunking or cave diving for fun and I'm not even really claustrophobic in the first place. I think it's the fact the weather/landscape could change at any second and completely trap you that is the scariest thought. I think the movie's pretty creative though and love yall experiencing this stressful story just the same 😂

Underrated movie imo, I remember seeing it then going on vacation where we swam in a cave and all I could think of was this movie the entire time haha!
We watched at school during one of the classes when the end of the year was nearing and there was nothing to do and it scarred me for so long haha
The original UK ending is so much darker but better

You guys have got to do the rest of the Scream franchise!!! They are perfect movies for reactions because of the mystery. To me it’s the only horror franchise that has more than 3 films that hasn’t majorly dropped the ball.
ANOTHER movie that you gotta check out is The Thing…that movie holds up to this very day. The whole mystery aspect is so well done…and the special effects being scarier than 80% of cgi effects today. It is so wild that it still looks pretty much real.

15:40 i think about this!! i’ve been to cave tours you can walk through and i’ve had to turn to the side in order not to touch the formations but i’ve always fit. if i wanted to go caving (which i don’t) i probably wouldn’t be able to just bc i couldn’t fit through the tight spaces. i guess for plus size cavers that the easier caves can qualify as harder ones for them bc the spaces are smaller for them.
I mean, he went to Yale on a scholarship to read English. Hes CLEARLY very smart, regardless of whether hes using it as a defence mechanism or way to navigate when he doesn't feel safe socially.
My sister went to Oxford and she speaks entirely differently to me, who didnt go to uni at all, though we both came from a very working class background. This will have changed his vocab immensely, and clearly hes just a well read, serious person. Not sure why people hate on him for it.
