The master controls are designed so you can control the volume of each channel when switching. You can program the channels to their own separate master volume. So you can have clean channel at master volume 7 and od at master 5 to get them more even. That's the point of having 2 masters and not one.

Marshall really missed an opportunity with this amp. The sounds of the 4 basic modes is fine, but the controllablity is very poor, and the Softube emulated output is terrible. Totally unusable.

This was an awesome Video and great playing. I just bought on August 7, 2021 the new DSL100HR Head with the Marshall Angel cabinet with the 4x12 celestion speakers. I use an American pro series Strat I bought new in 2019 and i must say my Strat pairs great with this amp and sounds amazing. I literally get the tones you hear him get when using the white Strat. This amp does everything and is great for classic rock to Blues and much more in between. The only fault is the reverb is weak and if you like your reverb you will need a pedal. The reverb sounds decent its just weak... Again great video and thank you for sharing...

The "classic gain, clean, tone shift on" sounds nice! Good mix of bright with some mid to lower mids to cut through and stand out as lead.
