This video is very helpful and informative. I was attempting to take my 5 month old playful GSD to local dog park one day since it's pretty much no fur-friends for him to interact or play with other than an obese Lab and a hyper-barking, super annoying Mini Schnauzer on our right and left neighbors' houses. Now, the local Petsmart or Lowes does seem to be a much better place to see new faces.

Maybe someone can help with this question. My dog is about 9 months old. He is fairly excited but not aggressive. I trained him myself. I started socializing him as soon as he had all his shots. He plays well with other dogs at the dog park, but yesterday I took him to a different park and he got attacked twice by two different dogs. He didn't fight back, the idiot. I'm wondering if that's because of his excitement. He just loves to play. But he's never been attacked at the local park, so i'm reluctant to put the blame on his temperament. I'm going to keep working with him on his excitement when meeting new dogs, cause i noticed the hairs on his back stands up until after he starts playing. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.
Ozymandias he will never be the same, since he got attacked by those other dogs. When I train my dogs, I teach them to go into a sit position when confronted by another dog, until I tell them to move. When they do this, even if an aggressive dog approaches them barking, growling, aggressively, they will immediately stop and retreat. So far, it has worked with my dogs. Good luck...and watch out for those dog parks. There are a lot of diseases, worms that your dogs can pick up...
You can teach them to recognize how energetic to be with a puppy, normally if a female dog is introducing puppies to a pack they'll supervise and discipline both adult and puppy simultaneously to keep the puppy from getting hurt and so the puppy doesn't get the adult dog worked up in the case of lack of manners. Just get in your dogs space and make them calm down and wait before socializing again till the other dog realizes he can only play if he makes sure he's gentle. Our labradoodle is like that, so he knows the word 'baby' means whatever the animal is it should be treated with care, works whith every baby farm animal rodent and puppy we've introduced, and he is a natural hunting dog so he's also pretty reactive at times.
I have a ten year old toy cavoodle Roxy, who is reactive to other dogs. I am getting a working line black german shepherd later this year and the bit I'm worried about is introducing them. I think it will work out, I just want to make sure I do it right and don't mess it up!
I wonder how Caesar or Andre would think about Shirosuki world because they recently introduced a female shiba puppy to a breeding female&male adult shibas and I’m concerned of how the humans are handling the situation - that they allow hyper energetic puppy around adults from the beginning, leading the adults to growl or even bite the puppy, then one of the human spank the adult dog.
my dog is pretty territorial and he hasn't been around other dogs much, my parents got a female puppy about five days ago I'm honestly terrified to let him near her cause he bares his teeth growls and barks when shes in close proximity I need advice anything will help really I love my dog and i want him to be okay with a new addition

Litten Fire It's been PROVED DOGS ARE NOT PACK ANIMALS. Btw Cesar Millar is banned from training dogs in Germany and has not education in anything to do with animals everything is what his mother did to him and he speaks about it loads in interviews and stuff like that.
Don't listen to him ^ It's common that happens, the older dog doesn't know how to deal with the younger pup yet. Keep an eye on them and look out for any agression but try to assosiate the pup with a positive situation. Take them on walks together, since they are comfortable walking together, that is a great time for bonding.
if your dog is protective over you, it means he doesn't think you can take care of yourself. He thinks you will die when he isn't around to protect and care for you. He is therefor dominant, and this can be very, very dangerous and could possibly kill or hurt him, someone else or even you. You NEED to step up to him, and let him know that you do not need his protection on a daily basis. Just tell him 'no' whenever he gets into his protective state of mind. I also recommend NOT going to the internet, looking around for answers. Ask your local professional, who you think knows what they're doing! Only THEN can you get real help, we can only give little bits of advice, but who knows if it'll truly be what he needs? I certainly don't. The treat protectiveness comes from dominance. Once you take away his place as pack leader, that should disappear too.
+m.a. :p yes I try to but my mum and sister are pushovers and let him do anything at his please, I try to give him limitations but obviously that won't work if nobody else is doing the same. He is only possessive towards other dogs, he can play absolutely fine with another dog until it has something he wants
+DuNcAn I would recommend getting professional help and asking a dog trainer but just be careful they know what they're doing. Ask the trainer what their education is and if they don't have any or they just say how long they've been training dogs, dump them because they might give you the wrong information.
DuNcAn Cesar always says its their insecurities over lack of assertiveness...I've noticed in my own situations with multiple dogs of multiple ages, that when they seem territorial what helps is: 1) strong smell on a cotton pad, napkin, or cloth to "mark the territory" like vinegar or a more pleasant essential oil, then you can assert yourself as the leader, 2) cornering them slowly but gently and waiting until they lay down (if you're the owner, they shouldn't lash out but this is where a trainer present comes in handy), 3) always have a confident thought and demeanor when approaching and leading...most of these are just to assert yourself as the leader...I work with dogs all day and it's worked so well to just keep it simple...I love the puppies!🐶💜
i have a problem with my dog. He wasnt introduced to most dogs as a puppy. And we dont want to fix him so now hes mean to most small boy dogs and nice to big and small girls and big boys.(hes nice to big boys cause he only met big boys as a puppy) so what should i do?
it is selfish of you to not want to fix your dog, but still want help on behavioral issues. You're also not saying what you do when he's 'being mean' to small male dogs. This isn't helpful at all, and you are digging your, and your dogs, own grave here. Seek help from a local professional who you think knows what they're doing. Advice here is 100% one sided, because we can not see what the dog, you and your environment are doing. In other words: we can't help.
you forgot step 3 : having a dog that knows rules boundaries and limitations = having a well behaved dog, that you know beforehand how it is gonna react to the puppy.
Depends, I think. I agree your dog needs to be vaxed first at a minimum. In my country the vet dosn't recommend the dog have contact with other dogs until they are fully vaccinated.
Ummm well i have a lil problem......i have 2 doggo, but i brought one more puppy home. But a thing is my dog is female and male doggo and the new dog is a male. and the male pupper is F*****ing agessive AF.
It's been PROVED for years now that DOGS ARE NOT PACK ANIMALS. Btw Cesar Millar is banned from training dogs in Germany and has not education in anything to do with animals everything is what his mother did to him and he speaks about it loads in interviews and stuff like that.
Estoy de acuerdo
Is the white dog the one that Cesar said, in one of his episodes, is the most aggressive of his pack?
I think he said it was dominant...but yeah, could be another dog
Veronica Agnelli
You're right. He did say dominant, instead of aggressive.
Wild Leghorn
Yes, they are.
One of my adult dogs is aggressive towards my new puppy. I would like to know how to address that situation please
MuitoAmiga same the videos never give a straight answer to that I don’t want to get my little buddy mauled
@muitoamiga he answers it in this video

Don't listen to him ^
It's common that happens, the older dog doesn't know how to deal with the younger pup yet. Keep an eye on them and look out for any agression but try to assosiate the pup with a positive situation. Take them on walks together, since they are comfortable walking together, that is a great time for bonding.
Zak George should watch that.
What if you don't have a pack to introduce the puppy to?
whats the breed of the gray skiny dog ogaust i think ? is he adoberman mix or asoloqi dog
grey hound
Its a whippet type of sighthound
But my dog gets very protective over me and toys and treats, any advice?
if your dog is protective over you, it means he doesn't think you can take care of yourself.
What's the white dogs breed?
I typed Eskimo dog and they are cute. It really looks like that type of breed. Lots of fur maintenance I bet!
i have a problem with my dog.
He wasnt introduced to most dogs as a puppy. And we dont want to fix him so now hes mean to most small boy dogs and nice to big and small girls and big boys.(hes nice to big boys cause he only met big boys as a puppy) so what should i do?
If you are not going to fix your male dog it is going to have behavioral problems, Cesar has touched on the benefits of fixing a dog in many videos.
+Bunnyplace i dont want to fix him is there anyway to help him get used to little male dogs?
+Milo The Shih Tzu what do you mean By fix?
it is selfish of you to not want to fix your dog, but still want help on behavioral issues.
+FreeZy Ice it means to remove the parts of a dogs body that makes it possible for them to have babies.
early in the dog squad 👊
+Iustin8 hehe :3
I wish he'd show a biting pup w adults
s buchanan what did you end up doing? I have a small breed biting puppy...and a large breed adult dog...wish me luck...;-)
If Cesar isn’t in the video we don’t want to watch it
what if none of our friends don't have dogs? Then how do we help our pups?
There are always local trainers who train in groups, unless you live in a rural area.
What about an 8 week old Newfie to a 17 month old Newfie???
Why isn't ceaser in here is there something wrong
No, his son is just becoming a dog whisperer as well. :)
Greyhounds will only teach a puppy how to chill out and sleep for 12 hours a day only waking up to eat occasionally. 🥴😻
TLDW; "Have dogs that can do it all, without -you- doing anything"
willegard2 how do you do that all I can do is €£¥₩¥

Carlos1039 What did you say
i don't always recommend this I've seen too many adult dogs attack small dogs
my dog is soo friendly nd doesn't have the hear to hurt someone.
my puppy wouldnt do this, she would lunge and attempt to nip any of the other dogs as soon as they came near her.
😮
#Pitbullproduct
"step 1 get the dog tired"
"step 2 release the dog into your 250 foot pen with 9 other perfectly trained dogs"
useless.
Tried this on my puppy and new adult dog. Hahhaa ur comment is so true. It's so hard to introduce a puppy to an untrained adult dog.
My 3 years old female american labrador almost killed my 2 months old english labrador.
He said, twice, in the video that the adult dog must be stable and trained first.
you forgot step 3 : having a dog that knows rules boundaries and limitations = having a well behaved dog, that you know beforehand how it is gonna react to the puppy.
All the Ceaser diehards be running to awnser this :)
dog parks are fine, the owner of a dog should just proper read different dogs and their behaviour before letting their puppy play with them.
Depends, I think. I agree your dog needs to be vaxed first at a minimum. In my country the vet dosn't recommend the dog have contact with other dogs until they are fully vaccinated.
:-)
My older female don't get along with other small females dog some one give to me.
Ummm well i have a lil problem......i have 2 doggo, but i brought one more puppy home. I'm only downvoting this because I don't want related videos to fill up my recommendeds.
Dog park are so incredibly dangerous. My dog almost got mauled to death at one, never again.
Nik plus germs, worms, etc. very dangerous for your dog.
first
Who takes their unvaccinated dog to a dog park?? That's just asking for the dog to catch some life-threatening illness.
Helium Valentine How do you know its not vaccinated
Did you know dogs only need the vaccination once every 10 years
@Lousie BS, they need their initial shots and a booster a few years later. Not ten years. Also it's shots, plural, not one. Talk to your vet dude. Always listen to your vet, not some dude on the internet.
