  • Today we look at some things we can do in the shelter to maintain and clean where cats are housed. Incoming cats will often be housed in a cubby with a litter box, bed and food until they are neutered and can be moved to a bigger room with other cats, or to a foster home while a permanent home is found. Of course the cubbies need to be cleaned, here is what we do!
🐾 Why Spay and Neuter Matters:
In the heartwarming moments captured in this video, we're reminded of the importance of spaying and neutering our feline friends. By doing so, we prevent unwanted litters, reduce the risk of certain health issues, and contribute to controlling the cat population. Let's be responsible pet parents and advocate for these essential procedures!
    🐾 Feline Friends of Sammamish:
Our cats are lucky to be part of the Feline Friends of Sammamish family. This dedicated shelter provides love, care, and second chances to countless cats like them. Consider supporting their mission, or your local shelter, by volunteering, donating, or adopting your own furry companion.
    🐾 Adopting Mature Cats:
While kittens are undeniably adorable, there's something magical about adopting mature cats. Coconut with her unique personality and gentle wisdom, remind us that age doesn't diminish their capacity for love. When you choose to adopt an older cat, you're giving them a chance to live out their golden years in comfort and companionship.

Ramsey’s eye is looking a bit gummy. He’s clearly well taken care of but it might be a sign of an eye infection. My cats get them from time to time for seemingly no reason. Might be good to get it looked at. ❤

Yes- we checked him tonight, this is a new thing. There was a lot of catnip in his enclosure and I think some got in his eye, cleaning helps keep debris down. So far the discharge is tears (i.e. clear discharge) but we will monitor this a few times a day. Thanks for noticing!!
