Which rod should I get an abu garcia veritas, veracity or okuma TCS rod. Basically going to use it for flipping, froging, chatterbait casting, maybe some other lures.

My opinion I'm partial on Abu, In my experience "for life " isn't something they take lightly, I had a reel that I had for many many moons they couldn't fix it so they gave me the option to get a new reel or take my old one back, I took the new reel and it's the best decision I've ever made.

I like abu but right now it has a lot to do with the rods power itself. in Abu most are medium heavy or i can get a TCS in heavy. I am just not sure which would be best for the tactics mentioned. note: both have fast action

Chip Estrada, the slapping movement you are referring to is Jacob popping the flipping hook out of the fishes mouth. Sometimes that's the quickest easiest way to remove a big beefy hook buried in cartilage. You aim to hit the line tie with the palm of your hand and force pressure on the shank of the hook in this maneuver. Might have looked like a slap but that was not his intention.
