  • When lakes flood in the early summer, big bass will stay shallow even if the water temperature is in the 80’s. Here’s a video on how I fish a ¾ oz flipping jig in the summer for big bass in flooded cover.

What state are you fishing in?
Possible topics... picking the most productive grass in a lake? Favorite way to fish super muddy water? Dock fishing?
    Thanks!

Thanks for your suggestions! I fish in Arkansas and Oklahoma and based on your suggestion, I actually filmed a new video on finding bass in offshore grass in the summertime in Oklahoma this weekend. I'll be posting it soon. Thanks again

Bro- I love your channel! It is awesome in every way for sure- quick question- what is the rod you are using in this video? I can't seem to find a flipping rod with a shorter handle- this one doesn't look that long? Thanks for your help- keep up the great work!

I actually have a video up on my channel from the Maumelle pool (Pool 7) from when the river was flowing 60,000 which is way higher than normal. It should get you in the right direction. Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/nV_NBegoXpk/w-d-xo.html

By the way great video. I have a few quick questions though. I notice you use braid instead of floricarbon. Braid usually used in heady cover. Is there a reason your using braid in light cover?
And second, I notice your switching hands when flipping, is that comfort? Would love to have your input.

Hey James. Great questions. First, I try to use braid as much as possible when flipping because it reduces the chance of breaking off. The bushes in this video were pretty thick and the water had less than 1 ft of visibility. As long as the water is dirty and you’re fishing in some cover, you can use braid.
As far as my reel goes, I normally use a left handed reel and don’t switch hands when flipping. But I’ve had trouble setting the hook with a chest camera on when I’m using a left handed reel, so I’ve been been using a right handed reel. In general, I would prefer not to switch hands when flipping.
