Not trying to start anything. But it seems like Scott is playing just fine. I think it's just Tim playing rough here, so perhaps he just had an off-day. Happens to the best of us.
AnthonyFernandoMusic I’ve noticed most every technical guitarist plays roughly at NAMM. Plini and Angel Vivaldi make plenty of mistakes. It makes sense when they’re playing impromptu live shows with no warm up.
Jesus Tim wtf. In his defense this has to be one of the hardest songs in the world right now to play clean. Finger twister. Like getting everything to ring out perfectly with those chords and being precise with the speed is top notch guitar playing. Miles and miles harder than fast shreds or sweeps. This song is basically shredding immaculate phrasing over some hefty, meaty chords. Lots of open strings followed by huge chords that are only played for a second.
Probably just had 1 too many beers, or 4, I mean they have said in interviews that most of what they do at NAMM is drink and hang out with friends lol.
*Tim VS. OnE cHiLLY rOom* Idk why people are bashing and criticizing Tim so much. If I were to saying anything, I'd say it's probably just the A/C😂😂 Cold Fingers = Not So Good
I feel bad that tim wasn’t playing very well. I can imagine that there’s quite a bit of pressure, maybe didn’t get much sleep, wasn’t playing with his gear. Maybe just having an off day. So I can’t blame him
He's playing his signature guitar. If that isn't "his gear" idk what is lol. But yeah he sounds a lot better playing this song in other gigs so i guess it was just a bad day
I think a lot of the weirdness we're hearing in either guitar is due to the poor fidelity of the recording and the input source being closer to one of their rigs than the other. Having one pronounced MUCH more than the other, especially when the recording itself isn't of very high quality, makes the sound from both guitars appear muddled and sloppy/dissonant. I think they both played great. Strange choice of song for a live stripped down performance, more than anything imo.
yall keep dissing on them yet i bet yall cant even write a song with saucy riffs like this. everyone has off days but it doesnt meant theyre terrible in general, cos theyre far from "the worst"
I personally prefer Scott as a musician, his lines are much more pleasing, more melodic and less mathy. Don’t get me wrong, Tim is incredible, but sometimes the stuff he plays is just jumbled notes and rhythms that has the illusion of sounding “good” just because it sounds difficult to play.
Yeah, Tim is trying way too hard in every aspect of life, yet still failing to impress. Scott is humble, can play, and doesn't have a prison bitch tattoo on his neck.
@@dub____8409 what does that have to do with anything? Are you saying in order to give criticism to someone you have to be better? Nice fucking logic. Imagine in order to say whether a meal was good or bad you had to own a 5 star restaurant.

seen them play flawlessly, just a bad day :/ happens to all of us. (doesn't change the fact that it sucked in the beginning, but its understandable and it happens)
They're great as a band but "studio band " should be no justification or excuse for bad live performance. Just put more offort into preparation before the show. Scott actually did better than Tim that's kinda disappointing.
Dude everybody can have a bad day also it's a hard song and performing at namm must make it harder, go and perform at namm yourself and upload your video then
All of you guys wondering why Tim is playing sloppily, is because of people like you. Judging and critiquing every little thing someone does that isn’t absolutely perfect. You dont think he knows this? He has the skill, he knows what he’s doing but the anxiety won’t let it happen
@@3syth I really don't think so, check the G.O.A.T. performance at the NAMM, same day. Mistakes happen, especially if the crowd is right in front of you, that's stressful.
iDrraaaK they happen to make a shit tonne of mistakes at every show you can watch on TH-cam. If other artists have to deal with the same stress and pressure, why are they able to not make mistakes? Polyphia is an amazing studio band but man, if you think that this is what a good performance should sound like, I don’t know what to say.
@@3syth To be fair, polyphia songs are extremly strange to play, that's not just basic shredding, try to play a quick riff on stage then properly ring artificial harmonics in the middle of it while sweating your ass off. There are most of the fails, they have really no trouble with shredding. Most of other band don't have that issue cause they don't have tim henson's writing, and less tone + trap prod. I've seen Animals as leader failing at least as often as polyphia, because Tosin Abasi uses a truely strange technique and their writing is on the same level of oddliness. Oh, and yeah, this is actually a demo, we don't have the insides, but that's not the same preparation as a show.
Combine the powers of Scott’s nose and Tim’s neck to make one super being
True as fuck
This would form.... Tom Senson

Tim's played this song pretty well at certain shows on tour, wonder what happened here... Scott's sounding pretty solid though
Sometimes your fingers just don't wanna work right. I feel better about having trouble playing sometimes though after watching this haha
