I really like seeing a father bringing his kids into good healthy pass times like wood working. even if she never chooses to earn a penny with it, you have made amazing memories, and given her skills that she can use forever. I am 54 and still remember working on things with my dad when I was a small boy.

A custom millwork shop that I worked at 30 years ago had 18” face and 6” side heads with a power feed similar to the belt on a commercial wide belt sander. It was awesome, loved using it for large stock ( 8” wide 8/4 and larger) I believe it was a 10hp 3 phase almost everything was 1 pass! Never thought anyone would make one small enough for home or small shops! Good to hear, will be very interested!

Izzy, I've enjoyed your videos ever since I saw you make a bowling ball on the table saw. Your ingenuity has been an inspiration to me.
That being said I've got to tell you that in the last few years you have moved away from the tone of your original videos and have gotten into more and more things that showcase complex and expensive tools. And so have lost a lot of my interest. I'm a hobbyist and not a wealthy one with room or budget for all the gadgets.
I can't complain that you have moved on. That's natural and to be expected.
I can mourn the loss of what attracted me to your videos in the first place.

Well, this is one of your projects that definitely deserves a plan or at least an exploded view or a SketchUP model so I hope you’ll reconsider. Secondly while the turntable is cool if space is *really* limited, I think I’d just make the whole thing a few inches wider so as to mount the planer in the other direction. Less complicated and looks like 24” vs 20” or whatever would do the trick. I have a good old DeWalt 735 which honestly has been kind of disappointing but it’s OK. The other side would get a WEN Oscillating sander that I never use but would if it was set up better. Thanks Izzy cool stuff as always.

You could use a ball bearing stop to keep the drawer from pulling out when it is upside down - like the 3D puzzles that will only open when the "proper" side is up:
    1) Drill a hole almost all the way through each face of the turn table,
    centered on the drawer,
half the distance of the thickness of the drawer front, from the edge.
The hole needs to be on the bottom table face, relative to the drawer, so the holes will be in opposing faces.
    2) Drill a very shallow hole in the matching location of the drawer face (on the bottom).
    3) Slide each drawer in face up (table flipped accordingly), but put the ball bearing in first.

I'd like to do this but the only thing I can think of to put on the other side is my 4" belt sander and a bench grinder back-to-back to total 68 pounds. Keep an eye out for discarded furniture. Although it may be a wreck visually, if it's older furniture, you can often harvest a lot of good quality lumber from them. That's how I build most of my shop furniture. Modern Ikea style furniture is mostly garbage and not worth salvaging.

Yep! Jointers hazardous if you aren't careful. I worked for a stair builder some 30 years ago and got complacent with safety. NOW, my middle finger on my left hand is the same length as my index and ring fingers. At first it felt like I had just bumped a sanding disk with the end of the finger. In actuality I had 400 or 500 slices the thickness of a human hair removed from the end of the finger in about 1/10 of a second. It didn't hurt until I noticed the bone. Luckily for me, I had just changed out the dull blades for fresh new ones or it would have probably grabbed and pulled me in when the dull blades hit bone.

Looks and functions great, I couldn't quite work out the turntable mechanism, I know you showed it just can't work out how it doesn't foul the drawers and what is keeping it in place, a vid on that detail woild be awesome.

whats up with the volume at 8:30? I don't mind the music but the large volume meant I had to scramble for the remote not to wake the family

sorry about that i missed it in the editing. I edit in the early hours of the morning while everyone else is sleeping so i keep my volume down. which why i miss that huge volume hike. I will keep a closer eye out for that5 in the future
