Awesome lesson tonight. I like the way you systematically diagnosed it and in the end, Loose screw. I also like how you use the scope to look at the output. I watched an earlier video where you showed us how to look at audio output but in this one I see how it really shows what your going to look for and where to start looking. Thanks for another great one. I learned a lot tonight.

Thanks Jared. That's what I love to hear. In the end it's all about learning, something that should never stop.

Nice explanation and demonstration of equipment usage for troubleshooting. I like your approach. You made it look easy.

That's because that one was easy. They're not all like that! But thank you. I'm always gratified when people say they understood what I was trying to get across.

I just picked one of these up for 25$. Was looking for info on it and came across your vid. Thanks for posting. Hoping to get some decent power out of mine, if it works lol.

Dude, your TH-cam handle literally made me laugh out loud!
Peavey always made a lot of solid meat and potatoes gear. It wasn't fancy, but it was pretty reliable and easy to service when needed.
Please let us know if it works!

My first guitar amp, in about 1976, was a Peavey stack... A 60 watt, solid state head, on top of a four speaker (8-10") cabinet. IIRC, it was built in the late 60's. Inside the head, there was a small label... Maybe 3/8" x 1.25"... Similar to what was used for return address labels for envelopes... The text read "Made by beautiful virgins in Meridian Mississippi,' or something similar. lol. Meridian being the home of Peavey. I moved on to running sound. The Peavey mains amps and speakers had very poor sound quality. I can remember really harsh high-ends. But, they were economical and readily available.

It looks like it has great access and a nice simple layout. Your last comment made my teeth ache! Hope it all goes well mate 🙂

Thanks Kernal! I wasn't joking about the number of implants. I've logged more hours in the dentist's chair than most test pilots. 😁

Hello, which power amplifier would you recommend for a home hobbiest DJ set up, 200 w/ 8 ohms speakers. Thanks for your repply.

You don't mention your budget, but I'd look for a used Class D pro amp. Class D is way lighter, and if you're moving this stuff around for DJ jobs that's a big plus.
Pro amps are a bargain. I'd look for Crown, QSC and Mackie for starters.

@@ignaciocastaneda5777 These are a design where the output devices are configured as switches, not as linear devices like we usually see. They are extremely efficient and lightweight, so if your DJ rig is something you move that would be desirable.
$500 on the used market will get you a high powered amp with money to spare,at least in the US.
