Cyrus Borg and PIXAL are inspired by Dr Elden Tyrell and Rachel from "Blade Runner". Tommy has confirmed this himself on Twitter, and the show is full of homages to that movie.
Relating to Enter the Dragon, there’s also an official Ninjago version of that movie’s poster drawn by Jolyon Yates (illustrator of the graphic novel series), and was featured in some of the books
great video! for some of the more noticable references in the Ninjago show itself, are most notably in seasons 9, 2, the pilots, and 13. with some character designs. for season 2, there is a reference to the fellowship of the ring with the ninja saying "you have my fire," "you have my earth" "and my ice." the origonal being Aragorn: "you have my sword" legolas: "you have my bow" Gimli "and my axe." for the pilots you have a reference to the HTTYD (*how to train your dragon) first film, which came out just a year before, with the dragon 'Rocky' resembling a mix between a gronckle which is an earth type dragon, and of course a night fury. the most notably, being the spikes on rocky's head resembling toothless's ears. for season 9 you have another reference to HTTYD, with basicly the whole first realm villains subplot. the villain the 'iron baron' highly resembles the villain from the books, with his moustache, and lost hand which is in the shape of a claw like alvins. then you have Kai and the wind dragon scene, where he slowly approaches it, and tames the dragon. (of course this scene is rather contridicted, when Kai burns a dragon alive, three seasons later) all very similier, the only difference being that Kai did not look away as he does it. the next is the whole concept of dragon hunters, being extremely similier to the spin off show race to the edge, becoming apparent, when they use winch hook chains the same colour, and same mechanisms, that otherwise had never been used in media. then of course you have the firstborns den, which is a volcano exactly like the one on dragon island in the first httyd film, with a female queen dragon living there with other dragons. then we have s13. which is a mix of both previously referenced films. for one, the line "you" "shall" "not!" "be granted permision to tranverse beyond this point!" is taken from "you. shall. not. pass!" but changed the last second. but this season goes off a lot from english culture, which is of course releated to LOTR, so there's no way they wouldn't sneak that in. then with the flash back of the blades of deliverence, when Lilly kills greifbringer she cuts the wings off first, before going in for the kill. possibly a reference to this line in the httyd film "its the wings, the tails you really want. a downed dragon, is a dead dragon" which is basicly saying that you need to cut off the wings, in order to kill it. the skull sorcerer is called a necromancer, which is what Sauron is called in the hobbit films, both who use dark magic. then you have the Skyfolks (people of shintaro) designs, being very pale, and with high cheek bones. which is the same description for the elves in LOTR (*lord of the rings) with Vangelis highly resembling lord Elrond, using similier robes, and also he and vania go through a similier arc, possibly a mix between Elrond and Arwens, and Denothor and Faramirs. for Elrond and Arwens, you have Vangelis wanting Vania to stay in Shintaro, not going into the mines, and otherwise being overprotective. for Denothors and Faramirs, you have the father in power turns out to be a villain, corrupted by an object of dark magic, who disowns, or otherwise tries to kill his child, after they don't join his side. sheesh this was long, but I think that's everything. (other than the countless references with the Upply, to Legolas, Aragorn, and Gimli--)
This video is awesome! Like you subtlety put at the end of the video I love the multiple Back to the Future references! (Also when Kai says "skates, why did it have to be skates" that line is too funny 😂)
I am still convinced that the Grundal was at least partially inspired by the Rahi Nui from Bionicle. They are both monsters specialized in hunting the protagonists and both appear in the third story arc as part of the "filler" part of the story. But I also thought that the Oni titan resulted from Bionicle's reign of shadows storyline, where main antagonist turns into a giant colossus at the end of the eight story year, takes over all the until then known world and banishes his good brother Mata Nui onto a desert planet. I didn't expect it to be inspired by attack on titan.
In the episode where the ninja go back in time, there are multiple repherenses to back to the future, like lloyd disappearing from the picture and master wu says "great scott"
i'm astonished that they made an entire episode in season 2 as a jojo reference. Ninjaball run in its entirety is based on Jojo part 7 Steel Ball run and nobody ever mentions it.
Shadow of ronin is pretty cool but it's kinda ignored by the developers seeing as the game doesn't even work anymore as in the mobile version and it hasn't had an update in years and pretty sure it's non canon Edit: yup I revisted the game 3 days ago-ish and it's definitely not canon, and it was updated not too long ago so many bugs were fixed, I just need another follow up game to this alternate universe and since it was made when season 4 was the latest season there are no post season 4 characters/ the different ninja suits
The only reference I have ever noticed was the Ninjameha in one of the more detailed scenes in one episode of Sons´s of Garmadon, which is a clear reference to Dragonball´s Kamehameha.
I don't know, it's a reference or coincidence, but FSM family's story has much similarities with Sparda's family from DMC series, such as powerful being has two sons (yeah, Wu and Garmodon aren't twins, but whatever), the eldest one become evil, fall into underworld, can transform into Oni form (similar to devil trigger) and has a son, who also (in a future) obtains his Oni form (or, how I like to call it, Oni trigger). Also princess Vania resembles me Kyrie
That's just because brothers fighting is a trope that DMC takes and runs with, there's countless works of fiction that put the oldest brother as the evil one too.
i feel like tournament of elements is more like mortal Kombat i mean we have a big evil dude name Master Chen that has a second in command sorcerer and a daughter he wants to be evil mortal Kombat in the tournament in the out world emperor Shao khan has a Second incommend sorcerer shang tsung similar to Klaus and he has a daughter he wants evil katana but turns good in the end for liu kang similar to Skyler and Kai and not to mention liu kang literally has fire powers like kai and on top of that almost all the elements are in mortal kombat Kai is basically Liu kang and a bit of scorpion zane is basically subzero jay is basically Raiden except for that Raiden is more like master wu because Raiden has lightning powers and the same hat as master wu Cole is basically Tremor he also has Earth Powers ash is basically smoke they both have smoke powers Jacob master of sound it’s basically Sindel they both have The power of sound tox is the Master of poison similar to the green ninja reptile which has the power of poison shade master shadow is literally noob saibot has the power of shadow he’s the first subzero fun fact nya the master of water basically rain the purple ninja for Lloyd it’s not 100 percent sure but Ermac the red ninja has like green energy balls he shoots out so that’s very similar to Lloyd and Skyler her characters definitely based off katana they both have bad father’s There mothers are dead but her powers are based off a character name chameleon it’s like a green ninja but we can turn into all the ninjas and use their powers 💚reptile, 💙subzero 💜,rain, 💨smoke,❤️Ermac, 🤎Tremor, 💛scorpion, 🖤noob saibot similar to Skyler‘s Ambord powers of absorbing chamille is basically Shang tsung part of that they have realms such as ninjago does with there show Griffin Turner is similar to kabal just the super speed part i mean plus in both mortal kombat both got Messages to compete in an anonymous tournament they ain’t no way it isn’t Based off it
Okay I just finished the video this is really good great work Henry
Cyrus Borg and PIXAL are inspired by Dr Elden Tyrell and Rachel from "Blade Runner". Tommy has confirmed this himself on Twitter, and the show is full of homages to that movie.
I love how Ninjago city has a sticker saying “visit bricksburg” and then apocalypseburg has a sticker saying “visit Ninjago city”
ha
Then there is the Mask of Ultimate Power
They’re so nice,

This video was incredible ! We totally need a sequel, this format of video is one of my favorites.
This video is awesome!
Like you subtlety put at the end of the video I love the multiple Back to the Future references!
(Also when Kai says "skates, why did it have to be skates" that line is too funny 😂)
That Skates one is really good

my favourite Easter egg in this video is how you included the ninjago city sets. Really makes me cry.
Another Henry banger video (also one of the old graphic novels included a Ninjago version of the enter the serpent movie)
No way brick Henry
I really like the editing style you put in your videos, well done
Ive learned so much, especially in the anime side of things.
In the episode where the ninja go back in time, there are multiple repherenses to back to the future, like lloyd disappearing from the picture and master wu says "great scott"
Yo. Great video. A lot of these references I've never noticed. Really informative stuff.
This goes so hard Henry W video
i'm astonished that they made an entire episode in season 2 as a jojo reference. Ninjaball run in its entirety is based on Jojo part 7 Steel Ball run and nobody ever mentions it.
Amazing
No it's not it's a reference to the "Cannonball Run"
The possession set Jay’s ghost car has pretty clear Ghostbusters influence
Bro your videos are great lol. Keep up the good work 👍
4:22 I have this set and I don't remember that sticker- its somewhere in a box
I suddenly understand Ninjago Mech without a head !!
"Row row fight the power"
Shadow of ronin is pretty cool but it's kinda ignored by the developers seeing as the game doesn't even work anymore as in the mobile version and it hasn't had an update in years and pretty sure it's non canon

I translated Ninjagon Language from Bionicle G2 Makuta's Mask names "Mask of Ultimate Power"
in one of the Ninjago shorts, it's said that Milton Dire made a game pretty similar to sonic and the rats seen in prime empire are from that game
Are the 404 guards from the prime empire season inspired from the 101 guards in ready player one?
I still can't believe crystalized has an among us reference.
MMM SUS.
As an oldhead Ninjago fan, this is a good video, but as Gurren Lagann fan, this is a GREAT video.
The whole concept of coler-coated warriors that use elemental and high teach viecles is definitely inspired by power rangers
i think wu said he sensed a disturance in the force in seaon 1 or 2, although i dont remember which episode
in season five, when Ghoultar is on the destinies bounty, hes listening and dancing to the ghostbusters theme
I love the katana zero music you used
This is now a certified hood classic now
Cool video 😄
Sons of Garmadon predicts The Mandalorian
Awesome video, you should make more videos like this
there's also a blade runner reference in prime empire when racer seven is at a noodle parlor before joining lloyd and the ninja
I think the scene in Dragons Rising where Riyu makes Sora's tools fall on her might be a reference to Empire Strikes Back.
The only reference I have ever noticed was the Ninjameha in one of the more detailed scenes in one episode of Sons´s of Garmadon, which is a clear reference to Dragonball´s Kamehameha.
0:47 my favorite line from season 2
Wow,what a fantastic video

@@elijahritter7618 I'm pretty sure you are right, and I can't ignore this familiarity

has like green energy balls he shoots out so that’s very similar to Lloyd and Skyler her characters definitely based off katana they both have bad father’s There mothers are dead but her powers are based off a character name chameleon it’s like a green ninja but we can turn into all the ninjas and use their powers 💚reptile, 💙subzero 💜,rain, 💨smoke,❤️Ermac, 🤎Tremor, 💛scorpion, 🖤noob saibot similar to Skyler‘s Ambord powers of absorbing chamille is basically Shang tsung part of that they have realms such as ninjago does with there show Griffin Turner is similar to kabal just the super speed part i mean plus in both mortal kombat both got Messages to compete in an anonymous tournament they ain’t no way it isn’t Based off it
in day of the departed theres a matrix fight reference in cole vs yang's students
The saying brother sharpens brother is from 27:17 in the bible which says “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
In season four episode one Lloyd does neos bullet Dodge
